for 60 bucks prebuilt completes are you best bet. A custom board is better. Prebuilts use cheaper everything to keep the price down. The quality isn't terrible depending on the brand. Just stick to brand with a rep and track record.
like this one is is 65
Almost
or this cliche 7.8
facebook marketplace is also good atleast where i live
The Landyachtz is a much better option. Larger body means better stability, and speed and comfort come with stability. Large soft wheels is the only thing that's particularly nice, and you can get that on pretty much any cruiser board.
I wear a size 12 and if I'm cruising, I'd like a larger board. 8.3-5" width and ~32" is right up my alley for a cruiser, but I'm willing to go larger if it's a longboard. I have this cruiser. I know complete aren't that great (the bushings definitely suck), but it was on sale for $60, which was close enough to the price of cruiser wheels with bearings. I had a mini cruiser, but I hated it. It's too flexy and gaining too much speed is sketchy. I sold it within a month.
Could someone make me a board set up please? I am looking to do a lot of downhill and sliding. Here is the board that I have. https://www.amazon.com/Sector-Meridian-Complete-Longboard-Skateboard/dp/B01CV717UQ
Wanting to just customize it more to what I will be doing on it. Thanks!

Hey, so I just have a quick question if anyone could help me out. I’m a college student that wanted to get a pennyboard to get from class to class and generally just ride around on, nothing special. I haven’t skated ever in my life before, other than the old RipStiks that were the fad back in the day (I know it doesn’t count lol). I ordered a cheap pennyboard on amazon and didn’t know that pennyboard was an actual company and every other “pennyboard” is “fake”. I’ve linked what I bought below, and just wanna know if it was a good decision on me to get, and if there is a massive negative stigma against “fake pennies”. Thanks!
My board
depends on what you're looking at
generic completes not from an actual skate brand are at best a half step up from a walmart board
however there are legit completes out there... the powell completes are pretty decent... mini logo trucks, bearings, the deck is made in china but i'd wager same wood as a mini-logo the problem with buying them on amazon is the item descriptions rarely tell you the size of the board
TGM skateboards is a seller on ebay and amazon who sells completes some of which pair legit decks with off brand everything else (amphetamine bearings, core trucks, shop brand wheels) some that use more legit brands for the trucks, and some that just do everything from a reputable brand... though with that last option i can build very close (they don't have the exact same deck) to the same thing for a few bucks less on skate warehouse
What do you guys recommend in terms of park bushings? My girlfriend just got this for $16 at MC Sports on clearance. She just wanted something she could ride around on for shits and giggles. The deck itself looks good enough for what she's doing, but the reviews I read say that the bushings are garbage (no surprise there). Venom bushings any good?
> glad to hear the board won't splinter into a million pieces at random
Take that with a grain of salt. Some reviews for the board say that it has broken during normal use. I'm not sure exactly which board you got, but this is the one this post is about.
Trucks, wheels bearings $52.95 - lifetime warrenty

Customskateboards.com - deck $30 shipping included +$3 for griptape, if you get more it's $17 more per board including shipping. I weigh 180 lbs and I have yet to snap one of these boards. They are the best in the business.
I can't really recommend this board but the trucks and wheels are solid so you can replace the board after it breaks (which depending on your weight could be never). The bushings on the trucks might need replaced within a a few months or simply according to taste. Even if you put the board into the garbage right away it's not a bad price for trucks and wheels.

Another thing to consider is DKL griptape, it costs a little more than regular griptape but it saves you on the most expensive part of skating... shoes. You're shoes will not wear out from using this stuff so give it a look.
Hey everyone,
I'm looking to get my first board. I'm 20yo and 145-ish lbs--size 10 to 10½ shoes. From what I've seen, I need something from 7.5 to 7.625.

I really don't want to drop too much into it because I have a bad track record of spending way too much on hobbies I decide to not pursue. I've been doing my research, and know what to look for (quality-wise). I'm looking to spend $50 or so for a complete. Nothing fancy. A high quality blank would be fine. Are they any Black Friday deals I should look out for? Here's what I'm looking at so far:

POSITIV Team Complete Skateboard ($59.46): The reviews look really good for the price. It looks durable and high quality. Not sure of the brand, though.

Krown Rookie Skateboard Complete 7.5 ($31.00): I love this damn board. I know it is a lot cheaper, and you get what you pay for, but I like the graphic far more than anything in my price range (I know, I know, don't buy a board for its graphic). That being said, the build quality seems pretty damn good and the brand looks reliable(?). The only problem I found was the bearings were garbage. It's so cheap, though, I'd still have it in my budget to get some.

ENJOI Skateboards WHITEY PANDA Complete SKATEBOARD ($69.99): This looks like the safest option--but also the most expensive. Everywhere I looked said the brand is good quality. Again, though, I really don't want to spend this much.

Any opinions on each of these brands? I don't really care about having a walmart board as long as the build quality is there.
So I recently picked up This Board in what I thought was a sick deal. Pretty much NIB at $80. Wasn't sure I would use it, but I love it and my dog loves it. However it's not fast enough. It's top speed is kind of awkward for my dog. Not quite a full run. I feel like she has to speed up and slow down a lot.
So I'm thinking about buying a new board.
Requirements:
-It has to be fast enough that my dog can run with me.
-It does not have to have a long battery life, we only go 2 or 3 times around the block.
-I would like it to come with something to smooth out my ride. Not quite sure what I need since it's kind of a casual hobby for me. But the asphalt around here vibrates the board a lot and it's kind of uncomfortable.
-Has to be reasonably cheap.
Edit: I'm pretty handy, I noticed some people make their own. If that's cheaper, I'd be in for that. It's all very overwhelming right now.
Thanks for that. I mean something similar to the landwheel or Onan variants with easy removal (no screws, no removing enclosure) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076ZDVS5K/
Lol thankfully it is not. It’s this one https://www.amazon.com/MINORITY-32inch-Maple-skateboard/dp/B06XWX7RF6?th=1&psc=1 and it’s got pretty solid reviews for that price range though admittedly I didn’t spend a ton of time shopping around.
Thank you for the reply, and considering what you have said, I have found these options. Is GLOBE a good brand to buy from? Also, I will be buying a whole board, because I can't risk not being able to have all the parts/not being able to put it together before I leave (7 days). Also, I am resorting to using amazon because of the fact that I have Prime and get free shipping. So, I have found a bunch from GLOBE (I actually tried out one of these in the store and liked it, but what do I know haha). Here are links to what I have found, do these look ok?
Board1
Board2
Board3
Board4
If you're interested in street skating this is what I used to get back into it. 7.5 means the board is light and easy learn with, also "flip" boards are known for pop. here I am playing around with it. I'm by no means any good, just love being on the board
I guess it depends on how big your 4 year old is. My 6 year old is getting use to a 28 like what is linked above but i started my 3.5 year old on one of these. https://www.amazon.com/Powell-Peralta-Ripper-Complete-Skateboard/dp/B01ID1OGWU/ref=sr_1_34?ie=UTF8&qid=1500577468&sr=8-34&keywords=powell+mini+deck
downsides are no nose, its made in china, but wheels are powell minis and trucks arnt total trash. at this point im just getting her accustom to riding/pushing. the quality is much better than a walmart/toysrus board.
then I think you should consider a more traditional Downhill board (Landyachtz, Ferrari, Arbor, Atom, etc.) they might be a bit over your price range but I would recommend it if you want to get into sliding I'd recommend Sector 9 Butter Balls or Hawgs (didn't mean to approve it)
