I agree with the other response you got pointing to the Pool / Spa forum. Trouble Free Pool forum is also a good one.

I will point out that the test kit they linked to doesn't include CYA tests.

ah. you're just after a 1/4 to 3/8ths barb adapter. Use the black to connect to the faucet, use the blue and black tubes together with the barb adapter, use hoseclamps to secure the tubes.
