I just purchased this $23 bluetooth keyboard leather case for my 2013 N7 and I couldn't be happier with it. I'm using it now more than ever. It's especially great for studying and taking notes. It's lighter and smaller than any laptop and I'm just as productive. Now if I could only get ChromeOS on it.

I've been researching for literally hours, trying to find the "best" case for my needs.

Doesn't seem like there are any that tick every box. I'm trying to find one that has:

  • dedicated pencil "holder" (not just using the magnet on the side)
  • backlit keyboard
  • slim profile
  • edge protection (TPU corners or similar)
  • "smart" wake/sleep
  • good reviews

There is this Ztotop model, but the keyboard isn't backlit

There is this ProCase but the reviews make it sound like the keyboard sucks (one of the reviews even had a ton of typos, which the reviewer mentioned was because the keys are all wonky)

There is this Jademall which seems to tick all of the boxes, but reviews say the keyboard will fail within a month, keys fall off, no magnets to hold keyboard in place, etc.

There is this Kvago with very few negative reviews (5 total that may be outdated, some complaining of not getting a charging cord etc) so maybe this one is good?

There is the Fintie option, but the keyboard keys rest directly on the screen according to reviewers, its not backlit, and someone says they damaged their iPad by snapping it into the case.

The IVSO case doesn't have backlit keys, and its pretty heavy according to reviews (though it says only 18mm thick). Keyboard is built into the case, so no removing / adjusting the keyboard. Also, the USB-C cut out is too small for most cables so you have to remove the case to use a dongle.

There is another IVSO case that does have a detached keyboard, but it is not backlit and many reviews claim the keyboard is terrible / laggy. Has a nice separate slot for the pencil though.

This Boriyuan gets decent reviews, but only 8 total so far. Only one negative, stating that the keyboard doesn't connect. Nowhere to put the pencil, other than the side magnet.

So yea... still looking for the one .

I bought this one a while back, and it’s pretty solid: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IFSNJW4/

It’s cheap because it was originally meant for the iPad Air, but it fits the 2017/2018 models since they’re the same physical size. The keys feel good, battery lasts a really long time, and it’s easy to detach if you don’t want to use it. You can also adjust the angle of the screen a bit to find the right viewing angle.

I have this keyboard and it works great. My only issue is that the hinge where the iPad connects can be annoying if you're using the keyboard separated from the iPad or with another device. They updated the hinge in this version: http://amzn.com/B00NFOC0K6

Sure, no problem! They have this, which is the one I have, without a slot for the pencil:

https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-iPad-Slim-Folio-generation/dp/B072DWQTK3

Then they have this one that DOES have a pencil slot. For me, it was unnecessary:

My suggestion to you would be to check eBay first though! I was able to find mine in perfectly mint condition for $50, instead of the full price. Lots of people try iPads and keyboards and end up not liking them, so they sell them. Big reseller market out there.

Edit: here’s an eBay link, $49 : https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F123312891849

Yeah, it's the Logitech iPad Slim Folio.

Nice typing action, too.

I was just going to buy the IVSO or Poetic Bluetooth Keyboard FHD Case off of Amazon. They are only $20-$25. Anybody know of a reason why I shouldn't? Problems other than what is noted on Amazon reviews?

Poetic

IVSO

I have this one for my 9.7 and it's great. It's light because it doesn't need a battery and it has a holder for the pen too...

EDIT: Just read your text and realise this is not what you want. Sorry.

I just picked up a ProCase iPad 11” Keyboard case for $40. I was quite hesitant but I’ve had it for over a week and I fucking love it. I find myself using my iPad more than my 2018 MacBook Pro now. I would love a Brydge when they’re finally released but at 3-4x the cost of this, not sure that I’ll get one. This charges via USB-C, rotates and adjusts angle easily, types well for a small keyboard and has various color keyboard backlights.

My only qualms with this are the the pencil doesn’t have anything attaching it other than the built in magnets, so I store it elsewhere in transit, and the satin material attracts ginger prints a bit.

Interesting in buying a 2019 iPad Air, and wondering if it's compatible with all 10.5 iPad Pro accessories?

In specific wanted this keyboard: https://www.amazon.ca/Logitech-Detachable-Keyboard-Connector-920-008420/dp/B0753223KN/, but it says it's only for the 10.5 iPad Pro. Meanwhile the Logitech website has a similar item that says for the new iPad Air and 10.5 Pro, but has a different SKU.

I have an iPad Air and I have been using the Belkin QODE since I bought to try to bridge the gap between tablet and laptop. It is a keyboard/case combo but I have to say that I love it. It uses bluetooth, and has its own battery to power the keyboard. I think I only charge it like once a month and I use my iPad moderately every single day. I am not sure if they make the same one for the Air 2.

It’s awesome.

Get this keyboard so you can prop it up in bed like a normal laptop and watch Netflix! Also it’s backlit!

Also I’m not sure if the iPad 3 had split screen, but this one does and it’s sweet!

Enjoy!

I use this one - ZAGG Slim Book Ultrathin, Hinged Case with Detachable Backlit Keyboard for iPad Air 2 - Black https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00X5X1XXW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_YvRLAbANKSF9Y

I like it because the keyboard had a very premium clicky feel. I’ve used it to replace my PC on a lot of ways.

I haven’t charged it for literal months. Website says up to 2 years in between charges, and it’s probably pretty damn close.

You can flip the keyboard into a few different positions, keyboard is fully detachable and has a case that covers the back. That being said, the case isn’t particularly robust - it’s more or less protecting it from scratches. It’s not meant to have any major drops. I already take really good care of my stuff, and it fits my needs so I’m not too sussed about that.

Also had to do one warranty replacement for a faulty hinge, but customer service was excellent and would deal with again.

Overall, I’ve used multiple keyboard cases and this one is still my favourite of the bunch.

Edit - updated link to a listing with cheaper price.

x-post to r/hardwareexchange

Up for sale is a lightly used iPad Air 2 64gb with Smartcover and Logitech Ultrathin iPad.

It is in excellent condition, and works great. Selling only because I stopped travelling as much and this doesn't see much action anymore.

It comes with Apple's Product Red Smart Cover, Logitech Ultrathin Magnetic Keyboard, and original box and packaging (even includes the original plastic sleeve the iPad comes in).

I'm pricing the bundle at $280.

$250 for the iPad Air 2

$15 for the Smart Cover (Lowest used price is $20 on Amazon)

$15 for the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard (available for $20 refurbished on Amazon)

Don't listen to this guy. Bought this keyboard: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QF5MXFY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_5TMFwbHJ9YT22

Have been using it for 6 months without any flaws. Also the company has great customer service.

u/41-percent · 1 pointr/ipad

If it’s the 10.5 iPad Pro, I highly recommend this, I use it with the Air 3 iPad and it’s great - it says it fits either. The Apple Smart keyboard is hot garbage and won’t stay standing up unless you’re using it always on a flat surface like a table.

There are many to choose from. So I just rolled the dice and bought this one. So far so good:

Here's what I got! The price went down which is pretty cool.
It's by no means the best keyboard folio in the world, but it gets the job done if you're on a budget.

My coworker uses this stylus and though I haven't used it myself he swears by it and it appears to work great when I see him using it.

I personally use this keyboard on mine and it is fantastic. No complaints at all after 6 months.

u/Ryvaeus · 1 pointr/theNvidiaShield

It's in stock on Amazon, which is where I got mine. However it's cheaper by almost $30 on their website if you're willing to wait for them to restock. Looking around online, people have also suggested Best Buy, saying that even at their physical stores they still have plenty of stock.

u/schmidtmj · 1 pointr/Nexus7

I got a Poetic KeyBook from Amazon. The keyboard has some warts (placement of the apostrophe, etc) , but overall I like it.

It does add significant bulk.

u/sveilien · 1 pointr/ipad

Logitech Slim combo https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Keyboard-Detachable-Wireless-Connector/dp/B0753223KN/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=10.5+pad+pro+logitech+keyboard&qid=1564439648&s=gateway&sr=8-8

It uses the smart connector so it detaches and has instant connection when you reattach. It's a bit bulky but you get lit keys and a 6th command row on the keyboard. It fits perfectly with the shoulder bag too.

u/rigidknife · 1 pointr/tablets

You mean like this?

u/mischiffmaker · 1 pointr/ipad

I got one like this for my ipad 6th gen, and liked it--the keyboard was easy to use, kept the charge, the part that holds the ipad swivels so you can turn it around and use the keyboard part as a viewing stand. Not too pricey.

It did add some weight, but so far so good.

u/arthurfm · 1 pointr/Nexus9

Me too, although I purchased it just over a week ago for £74.91 from Amazon.com after Paul O'Brien tweeted about it.

I have the second one and it runs great just a pain to get it in.

Also forgot to say if you're doing any word processing I would advise this thing
