Since I just started collecting makeup on Black Friday (and am having so much fun thanks to this sub), my palettes have been crowding into the drawers of my little countertop organizer.
This week I finally ordered a clear file organizer to keep them in, and I'm so happy with it! Good quality for the money and looks lovely with all the cute palettes!

You know what fixes this? THIS MOTHER FUCKER RIGHT HERE.

Pop up tape on a wrist strap! What a beautiful time we live in.
Best. Era. Ever.

I know, Bondagegirl, you are a lazy bitch! I don't care, nothing will come between me and my sweet, sweet tape bracelet.

This is where I would do a cost/waste analysis between standard toss away tape dispensers and the refills but my attention span is waning.

Most tape guns have a "safety mechanism" that retracts the teeth unless you pushed down on the flap that smooths the tape to the box. It might make them safer to handle, but it definitely makes them more annoying to use. Here's one without.

If tape noise bothers you, here's the low-noise version.

I prefer the tape guns without handles, so I splurged and bought the H192. It was worth the $40. For some reason Amazon won't give me the link directly to it, but it's on the same page as the H150.

Well I know there's an option to not have the receipt print out (I don't have it), but the #000 size is the smallest I ever use, and it is for the reason you mentioned (labels don't go any smaller). What I recommend though if you do a lot of shipping, buy this tape dispenser and just use 3 strips of the clear 2in tape. It makes the bubble mailer extremely secure for very little cost. It also protects the label against weather and damage. I've sent out over ten thousand packages this way and feel its by far the best mix of safety/cost efficiency for sending coins and paper money.

Pro-tip from someone who had to use a similarly shattered iphone for a few months before her contract was ready to be renewed: tell your friend to cover the phone in that clear packing tape (like this) to prevent getting shards of glass in your hands/cheeks. Worked perfectly!

I just use this stuff:
https://www.amazon.com/Scotch-Shipping-Packaging-6-Rolls-3850-6/dp/B000087KUA/ref=sr_1_13?s=office-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1482992689&sr=1-13&keywords=packing+tape

$15 for 6 rolls and its very quiet. Its hardly more expensive. I also dont use a low-noise tape gun because I HATE tape guns. Theyre bulky, difficult to use, slow, and cutting the tape at the end is just difficult. I use this and I'd bet I can tape a box faster than anyone else on this subreddit:

Give it a try, you wont regret it. I dont understand why anyone uses those silly tape guns

If you want cheap and your doing a small number pick up a 3m ScotchCode if you really want cheap you can get a Booklet, i hate them though.

That is good only if you are not going to use a complex numbering system, if you are doing a large Deployment with mutiple rooms, switchs etc and you need a more custom label then something like a Dynmo Rhino will be great for that

If you're going to be a "serious" collector - and especially if you want to collect a lot of old comics (silver and golden age stuff) you need to remember one phrase, which is the most important aspect of maintaining a "serious" collection: Acid-Free.

If you want older comics to stay in the best condition possible you need to store them at archival standard - or in another ten years that $5,000 book you bought will have deteriorated down a whole grade level or more. There is no point in paying the high cost for older books if you are not going to preserve them at the grade you purchased them in - if you don't then you're not making a wise investment or safe-guarding the longevity of your purchases.

I know that people like to make this seem like a wasteful, overly paranoid pursuit - but those people do not understand archival processes. People who make careers out of archiving paper products such as historical documents, photographs, etc. have a concrete scientific understanding of the way paper decays and how ink and the other ingredients which comprise a book, picture, etc. releases acid - these acids will deteriorate a book at an alarming rate if you keep it in the wrong conditions.

You need acid-free boards, bags, tape and boxes. It seems like overkill, but if you're going to spend real money purchasing older comics then this small investment to properly preserve them is of the utmost importance. No serious collectors who purchase high-price classic issues would ever store them in conditions any lesser than these basic tools help you to achieve, although many serious collectors go above and beyond in their storage techniques as well. However, these few things will give you the basic archival quality storage that you'd need.

Read THIS to find out how different backing boards hold up under actual PH testing. Buy Mylites for your bags and find Acid-Free storage boxes at a site such as Comic Supply. Amazon is the best place to purchase acid-free tape and with those few ingredients you can properly store your collection at archival standards (provided they are stored at the proper temperatures)

it would have to be a tie.. between the snail tape dispenser and the snail retractable measuring tape

u/trekkie_becky · 1 pointr/harrypotter

We (or at least my family) uses Scotch brand clear tape in the US.

I definitely just had a laugh when I saw that it's labeled "Magic" tape on Amazon.

its really not very exciting, but I really need scotch tape I've been stealing it from my roommates for months. hahah

Let's celebrate!

The one pictured is holding scotch tape, but it fits a standard masking tape roll
