i found a few headphones that match what youre looking for

Plantronics M70 is what I use.
11 hour battery life (which is pretty accurate) for constant audiobook listening, and it charges really fast.
If I get the "battery low" notification I can plug it in for a few minutes and get another few hours out of it.
It's a mono earpiece, so it's not made for music (though I have used it for music), but it works really well for audiobooks, and it's pretty cheap.
It also doesn't blink, and the little light that comes on when it's charging is pretty subtle.

Using bluetooth headphones for phone calls is always going to pick up outside noise, because they're not usually noise cancelling.

Something dedicated to phone calls is a much better option. I do a LOT conference calls for work, and went through various headphones with mics, and Bluetooth devices made by Jabra and others.

I finally settled on this, and couldn't be happier.

If you need is for occasional calls, I don't think the Beats X is going to be any better than the Jaybird X2 at blocking outside noise. You're going to need to find something that's noise cancelling.

These are bluetooth headsets for making calls etc. You do need only one of them: https://www.amazon.com/Jabra-Stealth-Bluetooth-Headset-Version/dp/B00LSYHLR2/

I bought one of these haedsets and use this with it. You may also need to get an extension cable for the light as the cable length is really meant to be on a cubicle. I bought this one. Works like a charm.

You can still get wired USB headsets which use the QD Modular plug (eg https://www.jabra.com.au/business/contact-center-headsets/jabra-biz-1500#/#1513-0153 ) so you can continue to use QD Y Spliiters such as https://www.amazon.com/Splitter-Training-Compatible-Plantronics-Connector/dp/B07GFD16H8 to give the same experience.

Otherwise 3CX's software implementation is using barge/listen/whisper from another device.

Does the Sennheiser hd429s have a removable cable?

So im a mexican guy looking for my first "real" kind of heaphones and i think that the hd429s seems like a good option, i found these for $820 pesos or 42 dollars.
https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/aw/d/B009HQTORS/ref=pd_aw_sim_sbs_23_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=F0S48P6NTC8A5QM7D66Y
Now, the only thing that i dont know os that if It has a removable cable, i've been searching everywhere for an answer but couldnt find a clear answer.
If these dont have a removable cable then i Will most likely save some more money and buy these hd461g for $1555 peso or $72 dollars https://www.amazon.com.mx/gp/aw/d/B015Y0MXA0/ref=pd_aw_sbs_23_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=JGAJ2SYE579RJFYDQW2Y&th=1
Or maybe some hd451. Could you guys also give me some alternatives that also has a removable cable?

I may be an idiot and totally over-complicating this, but I need help. I have a need to use a normal (think super-cheapo, $20 telemarketer headset) with a David Clark system. The particular unit we are plugging in to is the U3800 system, and I BELIEVE from my research the plugs that go in to it are 6.35mm (1/4)" PJ-055 style. See picture here.
In my line of work, people are constantly trashing these. The specific model I'm trying to find a substitute for are the 40410G-02.

We pay around $300 for these headsets and I KNOW there HAS to be a way that I can buy an adapter maybe like this and then a headset like this and stop buying so many $300 headsets!

Would the items I linked work? The picture of the plug I linked is actually from a headset that has a Push-To-Talk button on it, the model I'm looking to replace does not have a PTT button on the headset itself.

Please please help!

--edit-- I made a post for this, but I'm afraid it may be taken down, so cross-posting here. Thanks.

The top review for the this headset says it works with an old firm from the 1990s. You may look at combining them with a [really cheap cord phone]. Even a "test run" would only be < $20 plus shipping.

i love the hell out of my Plantronics Rigs, got optic and USB for my pc(Usb for skype, optic for music and games), 3.5mm jack to my tv(ps4+WiiU)
so i only have 1 headset for all the games i play.

the usb optic on my pc i cool because i can regulate how much i want to hear the game over skype, or even ps4 and wiiu

Link for Plantronic RIG has a cool Portal vibe

in the 3rd foto u can see the wheel that regulates the sound, the outer ring controls the volume control, and the 2 iner ones(blue, orange thingi) control the output from the source, in mi case if rotate it down i hear the skype call louder(if its max i only hear the skype) if its in the middle i both hear skype and the game.

u can even hook up you phone and pick up the calls with the headset.

Google Voice number is a good idea. I had my old desk phone setup as another phone in GV, however the problem was that due to working the night shift, and not a M-F job, there was no easy way to have GV toggled on and off for it. Plus I was always on a separate line (it was a tier-two IT callcenter job) so I couldn't always answer it when I was working, especially not on a weekday.

For the booster situation, any postpaid customer should be able to get a T-Mobile LTE Cel-Fi for free (maybe with a $25 deposit). Stick the Network Unit ("Window Unit" as T-Mobile calls it) in whatever part of your floor has the best reception (use your phone's About > Status screen to get your current signal strength in -dBm. Higher the number (closer to 0), the better the signal). Then stick the Coverage Unit either in the center of the building, or closest to your area as possible while still within range of the Window Unit.

Lastly for the headset, I highly recommend a Plantronics Voyager Legend. It's an excellent Bluetooth headset with the best quality I've seen, and can easily last through a whole day of talking or streaming audio. It supports wideband audio, meaning you can take advantage of T-Mobile UMTS/VoLTE/Wi-Fi Calling's HD Voice quality. They also make a "CS" model which is the same thing, but has a Bluetooth base station you can hook up to your desk phone for a little over $100 more. Whichever of the two you go with, I also recommend picking up one accessory: the charging case. It lets you store and charge the headset using its built-in battery two or three times (meaning you can easily have 18 hours of talk-time, days of standby time, without having to plug anything in) and the charge case will charge itself and the headset at the same time using a standard micro-USB cable (the headset uses a proprietary cable sort of like an Apple Magsafe adapter).

Laugh at me all you want but I use one of these. I keep up with all of my relatives on the hour drive. I have never had one of those small bluetooth headsets that was worth a shit. You get far too much ambient noise, particularly wind. What you need is a foam covered mic that sits right in front of your mouth.

u/CrzyJek · 0 pointsr/DestinyTheGame

You could save 25¢ a day for a month and get decent mic/headset.

Edit: For all you downvoting dickbags.

$11.75

$9.99

$10.17

$3.36

Tons more around that price range.

Or you could save a WHOPPING 50¢ a day and get $15.99

Point is, having no mic is no excuse. A 12 year old could save enough for anything that could do the job for chatting on a ps4
