Hi, everyone! I've got a new historical romance out, currently available on Amazon for $3.99 (or free for Kindle Unlimited readers). The length is approximately 100,000 words. If historical romance is your jam, I hope you will give me a shot!

His Favorite Mistake

Summary: James Bradford, Duke of Rushton, is a man obsessed with revenge. When his sister’s lover, the Earl of Westwood, refuses to wed her to save her from disgrace and give her child a name, he latches onto a nefarious scheme of his own: an eye for an eye. Or, more appropriately, a sister’s dishonor for a sister’s dishonor.

Lady Jillian Kittridge has been crossed in love before, with absolutely no inclination to set herself up for disaster yet again. At twenty-two, she is very nearly on the shelf and is simply awaiting the day that the funds set aside for her dowry will fall under her control. But when the handsome Duke of Rushton begins to court her, she finds herself unwillingly tempted.

The fact that James finds himself actually liking Jillian is an unwelcome complication. As his scheme draws ever closer to fruition, he wonders: Can he truly destroy the life of an innocent woman, a woman he admires and respects? Or has he been caught in his own trap?

It comes with a preview of my third novel, His Reluctant Lady, due out in January 2020!

Hi All -

I am a new author who released about a dozen ebooks this past month. I've made about 5 dollars in that time and am feeling very demotivated. Could any of you please take a look at my listings to see if I am making any huge mistakes? My ebooks are mostly short stories.

Proving the mask isn’t hiding a madman is probably hopeless, but preventing his past from destroying their love—may just be impossible...

Four years ago Paris was under siege by Erik the murderously vengeful Phantom of the Opera, who swore no one would come between him and his student, the breathtaking Christine Daaé. But a broken heart and a blast of conscience have changed him. Vowing never again to let his curse haunt the diva or the Opera Garnier, Erik is content for the world to believe he is dead. That is, until a good Samaritan begins leaving strange packages, awakening both his deepest desire and most forbidden fear—love.

Anna has no way to escape the memories of her past or her bonded servitude to the owners of the Opera Garnier. Ministering to the less fortunate is the only bright light in an otherwise dark existence. When her kind gesture brings her to the attention of the masked and mysterious Erik, her need for redemption became a desire for true acceptance. But Erik’s powerful obsession with Christine and a deadly con that puts everything she knows at risk pushes her to face terrifying choices.

Before lies and the legend of the “opera ghost” threaten the lives of any more people, Erik fights to control his demons and tame a heart torn between two women. Battling the nobleman determined to lock Erik away, Anna must help free Erik from his bonds of madness or once again seal his fate as The Phantom of the Opera…but saving him may just destroy her heart.

I'm cheating a bit here - this is a trilogy rather than a single book - but all three are available via Kindle Unlimited. The plot is explained well enough as the story goes along that they could also be read as stand-alone novels if you prefer.

The novels:

  1. Never Kiss a Rake
  2. Never Trust a Pirate
  3. Never Marry a Viscount

Their father embezzled a massive amount of money and then drove off a cliff, people say, leaving his three daughters penniless and disgraced. But the Russell girls know their father would never have done that to them. Now they are going to go undercover into the households of the three men they think most likely to have set their father up and murdered him, looking for evidence of innocence or guilt. Because when they find out who ruined their lives, the Russell girls are going to make the villain pay.

I rarely read heterosexual non-paranormal romance that isn't straight-out erotica, but when I do - I read Anne Stuart. She has a wonderful way of developing characters that are surprisingly deep, intelligent, and just villainous enough to be interesting.

(As an aside: if you like your heroes more than just a little villainous, try her Wicked House of Rohan series. It's not KU, unfortunately, but I believe there is a free prequel short available.)
