I've used this wallet for a few years an I couldn't be happier. Found it at the Big E and bought it on a whim. My dog actually tore is apart when he was a puppy so I bought another in the leather version and it's still the thinnest wallet I've ever seen. Big fan.
Big Skinny Men's Slimline Bi-Fold https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HVKS8EM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_-2GHzb9KRCYY4
Going through undergrad commencement this weekend had me thinking about my time in undergrad and more specifically, those things I chose to carry with me almost every day.
Starting from the upper right hand corner and working my way around in clockwise direction.
Pens – 3 Disposable Bic pens – When it comes to pens I leave them everywhere. I leave them in class, the lab, the machine shop, etc. Because of this I buy them in bulk and then just carry a bunch of disposable pens with me. They are cheap so if I lose one or someone asks to borrow one I don’t worry about getting them back. I like these pens because I find they are comfortable to write with, wont break from me carrying them around or treating them like shit, and have a pen cap to prevent them from making a mess in my pocket. Why no pencils? I haven’t found a mechanical pencil that is both cheap and will survive in my pocket. If you know of one that fits those two requirements let me know in the comments!
Highlighter – Used for marking up academic papers I am reading. I’ll usually carry one or two with me but I keep several different colors at home for heavy markup. The colors I like carrying on me are odd colors, not yellow, like green and pink because they let my markups stand out from other peoples markups.
Sharpie – Used for marking up things that pens and highlighters can’t like metal, ceramics, and sleeping lab mates.
USB Drive – I don’t use it all that often thanks to free services like Google Drive and Dropbox but everyone in a while when you don’t have access to other options these can really save you. For example like when you need to print out a final report that’s due in 15 minutes and the internet is down. (That example definitely hasn’t happened to me)
Letherman Skeletool – The Skeletool is a good all around multi-tool. It has a knife, pliers, wire cutters,/strippers, screwdriver (both flat an Philips), and a bottle opener. It’s slim so its easy to carry without giving up a lot of functionality.
Timex Weekender Chrono – Useful for telling time if durring both meetings and tests when you cant check your phone. Taking a peek at your watch durring a meeting is unnoticeable unlike when you check your phone which can be considered rude.
TI-84 – The second most useful tool in my entire engineering education after a pen. I’ll often use the calculator instead of Matlab or Wolfram Alpha for doing homework that require simple computations just because I’m so familiar with it that I can operate it extremely quickly just from muscle memory.
Planner – It’s useful for writing down assignment due dates and meetings. Everyone has a different way of organizing events/work an I find havving a written copy helps me visualize where everything is.
Muji Recycle Paper Bind Notebook – Useful for taking notes in meetings and they can fit in my back pocket
Allett Slim Bifold Wallet – It’s an ultra thin bifold wallet that I love. It’s so thin I never even notice it in my pocket. I can sit on it all day without being uncomfortable. My last one became worn out after two years and I bought another one immediately. I highly recommend them!
Keys – For opening doors/stuff. Note: I just grabbed some unused keys for this pic and put them on a carabiner.
Google Pixel – It’s taking the photo. Lately its mostly been used for snap chat
Nomatic Slim is what I use every day. About as slim and minimal as you can get. I keep about 10 cards and an emergency $20 bill folded into 1/4 to fit in the little pocket, but I can fit 4-5 bills when I occasionally have to break that $20. Might be a little too minimal for some, but I love mine.

Oooh, this is a fun challenge.
This is the most expensive item on my list, but I figure that with knives this is the best small EDC knife you can get for the money. I'm not a fan of large knives for daily carry, and the Dragonfly gets the job done.
While I initial thought was the F-91W, this watch seems to have far better water-resistance for roughly $7 more. Plus I prefer analog watches.
While I've never used one of these personally, why not take the loss of all my stuff as an excuse to pare down how much bullshit I carry in my wallet? Reviews (outside of Amazon) seem pretty good and I'd love to give this thing a shot.
I like having one of these kinds of dumb little multitools handy for prying and bottle-opening and other random tasks that I wouldn't want to abuse my knife with. At only $3 it's worth the space in my budget and my keychain. Speaking of keychains...
If you're like me, you often have to add and remove keys and other items from your keychain. Wire/cable keychains are the friggin best for this. I generally prefer the ball-and-socket types rather than the kind that screw closed, but I'm counting my dollars here.
I can't stand pens that use caps, and nothing writes as well for me as the Pilot G2. 0.5mm is about as fine a line as I want to get because the 0.38mm ones tend to get a bit scratchy on most paper. And if you'll allow me to count the cost as only a dollar rather than the price of a twelve-pack...
With a few extra buck open in the budget, I realized that I've had one of these on my keychain for about as long as I can remember, and it pays to have one handy with a copy of your choice of documents, music, and other media. Super handy to keep available at all times.

My total price for these tools puts me at $98, assuming the cost of only one pen. I assumed that I would be able to keep my phone, which provides me with enough illumination that I've never bothered with carrying a dedicated flashlight outside of the colder months when I'm usually wearing a coat. So I didn't bother with choosing one for this challenge. Anyone have any good suggestions for AAA, clicky tail-button flashlights under $20?
Dash wallet, very light and minimal. I love carrying mine. Recently switched from a wallet case for my iPhone to this wallet and have no complaints about it so far.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00YD8VRLG/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
This one is a minimalist wallet that's essentially a big elastic band ($9.97). I love it and use it daily, not just during travel.
Wallet $15 - big skinny
knife $10 - Gerber EAB
keychain $7.50 freekey
suspension clip $5 - tec p7 ripoff
Light - I don't have a good one for this yet. Can someone recommend a small AAA light with a power button (vs twist)? I have a twist one and it kept getting turned on in my pocket.
I bought this last year and I love it. It's very thin, has a removable money clip, easy access card, ID display, and a larger card pocket with a pull tab in it. Highly recommend for 30 bucks.
This one. Super minimalist, but holds several cards and cash. Works great in front pockets, too.
I'd try to build this EDC with the assumption that I could keep it for years (if not indefinitely):
Wallet: allett Ultra Slim Sport Wallet - $15
Knife: Opinel No. 6 Carbon - $12
Multitool: Leatherman Style PS - $25
Light: Olight i3s - $15
Pen: Zebra Sarasa Clip - $3
Watch: Timex Weekender - a variant under $30
I EDC a Style PS right now, and have EDCed the Olight i3s and Zebra Sarasa Clip in the past. I own (but have never EDCed) an Opinel No. 8 stainless, and it's excellent, but I wish it were smaller and could sharpen up even more, so No. 6 carbon it is. I've handled allett wallets in stores and trust their usability and quality. The Timex Weekender is the only one on this list that I haven't had direct experience with, but it's the cheapest watch I could find that I'd feel I could keep for a long time.
I would consider any tailstanding AAA light under $15 with a reasonable high and low. I went with the Olight i3s because I've used it, but I'd also take the Lumintop Worm or Thrunite Ti3 if I could get it under $15.
I use a Dash slim wallet that I really enjoy and it is super cheap. Here's a link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YD8VRLG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QFfmyb62F7ANW
Agreed. I just lost my last wallet and was searching for a minimalist wallet. I would have passed this by for a few reasons:
I just purchased this and I don't see what the MACH 1 does better, and I see a lot that it does worse. This one's 2/3 of the price, I can get it in two days, it has two "pockets" for cards and a 3rd pocket for cash, coins, or a key.
I hate poo-pooing other's ideas, but I feel like you may want to re-examine the problem you're trying to solve here. Why is your solution better than others?
Some popular options around here:

Magpul Daka Wallet. Trying to slim down my EDC my my current one is kind of bulky.

Xikar Element dual torch punch lighter

Well I always lean towards slim card wallets, I was carrying this for the longest time. Right now I'm carrying something a bit on the silly side. I recommend either option
Get a mighty wallet
This is what I use. It can hold cards and cash and have to complain at 10$. Seems to be durable enough.
You're not going to find a thinner more basic wallet than this.

I have this and really like it. It is super cheap too.
Allett uses some bulletproof non-animal materials. As a minimalist and EDC nerd this is the current featherweight champion of my wallet collection, and has been in my front pocket for a straight year with no signs of wear to the wallet or my cards.
I've been in the same wallet searching abyss, for about 2 years. I was thinking I would go Belroy until I actually held one in Brooklyn. Not worth $90. My gf bought me a Saddleback Leather bifold but it's a Costanza and I was trying to avoid the Costanza. Bought the following wallet on Amazon for around $30 and I fucking love it. Travel Wallet RFID Blocking Bifold Slim Genuine Leather Thin Minimalist Front Pocket Wallets for Men Money Clip - Made From Full Grain Leather (Califo https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FUYP70I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_S6wKqk1sdkij2
I just did Paris in August. I ended up doing one of those chained wallets inside my pacsafe bag. Like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Pacsafe-RFIDsafe-Anti-Theft-Blocking-Charcoal/dp/B00MOF7TDK
I just clipped it to the d-ring inside the bag and I didn't have to worry about someone trying to walk off with it. It's kind of clunky and definitely NOT something you would want to carry in a pocket but I thought it worked well inside my bag.
Slim and easy to access cards and cash. Also cheap

Hiya pal, thanks ever so much for the review, especially such a detailed one, 29th is my UKFakes debut in the club so this put my mind to rest big time.
I must say though im a little confused with the wallet thing. Do you mean a wallet like this with just an ID window, like this with only plastic sleeves or like this with just an open front to fill with cards.
If none of the above could you point me in the right direction? Cheers

thanks! gonna give the nylon id a try. bought it at amazon though. price almost identical with prime shipping.
This is the wallet I use except I took off the chain.
It meets all my requirements:
I have a handful of different designs that I swap out. I've had a couple for over three years. The design is wearing off the edges, but other than that they're in great shape. Here's a link to a plain black leather one on amazon.
Dynomighty Men's Leather Mighty Wallet - Super Thin Lightweight Tyvek Billfold https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005XZYC1K/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_9LNlxbPNPNA2V
I have and love this slim wallet. Here are some pictures of it in use.
I currently have 4 CCs, DL, insurance card, and prescription card, along with like $50 in cash (whatever cash is... someone told me that stores take it in exchange for things). It'll hold a few more than that as well.
This one is fantastic for a bunch of cc's + BB + Serve + GCs + the same for SO! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GRDC5UC/
I use one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009IMCGBW/ it is RFID blocking but has two easy slide out access slots so might suit your requirement without getting hit by card clash? It's pretty thin if you've only 3 cards in it, I hold more than that and it expands nicely.
The thought of carrying loose cards in my pocket for some reason makes me feel sick, I've always been a small wallet guy, I recently got this wallet and I can't say it changed my life but its nice and slim without being an awkward card holder. I carry this, my phone and my keys, I've read comments recommending ditching keys you don't use everyday but when I tried this I ended up at work without the key to my bike lock.
Ultra Slim Mini Size Wallet ID Window Card Case with RFID Blocking - Coffee https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IDS4X30/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_w6X9AbF83M3T1
It's not as slim as it looks. Its the Carhartt pass case wallet.
I've been debating getting one of these for a while. I'm looking for something that's ultra slim and able to carry a couple cards, an ID, and a few bills.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KOEP9MA/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
I'm having a hard time deciding on which wallet to get:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZBADOTS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3P7JJMAJE41R3
Or
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W8TU45W?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=AVVPCVBQFQSQX
Which one do you guys think will be best?
I gotta recommend the Magpul Daka wallet if you're looking for thin.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B013OTEXCO/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1505977762&sr=8-3&pi=AC_UL420_SR280,420_QL65&keywords=leather+wallet+men
Leather bill fold I've have for nearly three years now. With amazon prime it's around 20$. If in the US opt for the smaller size as the large size is meant for larger bills.
Do you carry cash? Just cards?
This is the thinnest most functional wallet I've tried.
There are many cheap card cases. This super cheap one was the first I tried
I have this one too.
I also have this one. I think the styling is great, but you have to fold cash more than once to fit it in
Lots of good ideas here. I've had this for a year and it's worked great.
Ultra Slim ID Wallet - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LBP20BE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_6ZxIyb481SVPQ
None of the wallets recommended here are actually thin. I hate a wallet bulge and have a wallet that is washable (mistakenly leave it in my back pocket) and very thin. Cheap too, just $25.
http://www.amazon.com/Big-Skinny-Slimline-Bi-Fold-Wallet/dp/B00HVKS8EM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451348802&sr=8-1&keywords=the+big+skinny+wallet
Here is the desktop version of your link
Dash Co. Premium Slim Wallet (Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YD8VRLG/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_3DUAzbAWQ1DZX
And I've bought over 20 front pocket wallets. This one has been the best for me so far.
I plan to get one of these soon to replace my current wallet. It's plain brown leather and has that timeless look, plus it'll get more character with age. Has pretty good reviews and it blocks RFID if that's something you're after.
Tyvek wallets are best. Like this.
I bought it at Tractor Supply Co. Amazon has them too.http://www.amazon.com/Carhartt-Canvas-Passcase-Wallet-Brown/dp/B005FJ273O/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1412600140&sr=8-9&keywords=carhartt+wallet
I like the Minimalist and Polare because they are highly stylish and won't break the bank. I don't find it necessary to spend hundreds of dollars on a wallet, where its functionality is essentially the same.
I like the Minimalist because it provides me easy access to my cards and cash, while I avoid unnecessary bulk in my pockets. The Polare wallet is made of high quality leather and the RFID blocking feature gives me peace of mind from getting my information stolen.
I always keep my wallet in my back right pocket because it's easy for me to reach with my right hand. However, if I am sitting I will remove it or put it in my front pocket in order to avoid sitting on it. Your back pocket and wallet can both get damaged if you constantly put all of your weight on them.
Love my skinny wallet, almost 4 years and still going strong. They come in different styles; I got this one:
https://www.amazon.com/Big-Skinny-Slimline-Bi-Fold-Wallet/dp/B00HVKS8EM
I've been pretty happy with this one, might want to check it out.
I've seen a lot of people complain about magnetic money clips, but this thing is extremely practical and I haven't had any issues. My roomate liked it so much he bouth this other one.
If you feel like slimming it down some more or want to try something else, I really love this wallet: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00W8TU45W/
It's really just a little sleeve for your cards. Gets a little hard to use with 4+ cards, but just right with 4 cards or less.
I'm a fan of the Exentri Wallet although the only downside is that there is no place to store your change.
https://www.amazon.com/Exentri-Trifold-Leather-Wallet-Locking/dp/B009IMCGBW
Like every other minimalist wallet, it has external quick access credit card pockets.
So far it is the best minimalist wallet I've found that you can still put paper money inside of like a regular wallet. I'm not the type to publicly flash cash around like the other wallets require you to do.
This in black. Dunno why there's no black version listed at the moment. Can hold up to 24 cards! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GRDC5UC/ref=twister_B00GR6MOFA?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
Fossil Men's Ingram Magnetic Multi-Card Wallet, Brown, One Size https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008CL27DM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_I.JZAb197MHBY
I've had that wallet for a few years now and I love it. It's not waterproof, but it's pretty tough, it's been through my washer at least a couple times.
Each of those slots will hold 2-3 cards. I keep my ID and door badge in the slot on the money clip side. The money clip can hold 10-15 bills securely.
I’ve been using this and it works great, very compact.
