Ah ok, thanks for the clarification. I can't speak for the quality of this skin as I don't have it, but it looks close to the Apple White. Maybe that would work? If not, this is the best deal on Amazon new I could find.

Edit: This Basic Wii U comes with Mario Kart 8 for free.

Depending on how old your son is, I'd buy something to protect the gamepad. If I had to buy one right now, I'd choose Wii U GamePad Silicone Sleeve https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00AAQBAYE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_QHomybGRG6895

I have a grip/sleeve for my 3DS made by them, and I have nothing but good things to say. I use the Hori Splatoon case on my Wii I gamepad.

Get a screen protector as well.

Wiimotes are cheap from the Nintendo store if you get refurbished ones.

Yup Nintendo site I bought the Splatoon Special Edition. There's a gamepad protector that you could buy separately, but the special edition had nothing special about the console itself :(

Mine is a Hori brand clear plastic. The only ones I can find on Amazon.UK are stylized.
