I'd imagine you're question has already been answered, but you'd recently asked about a razor for your husband. I have had a fantastic time with one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Dovo-Shavette-Straight-Razor-Handle/dp/B001GMVNXO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1426566217&sr=8-3&keywords=dovo+shavette

It has affordable, replaceable blades, a comfortable handle, and is genuinely well made. I bought it thinking I might go into straight razor shaving, but there's no need. The blades in this are nearly as long, and replaceable. You don't have to have a length of leather to sharpen your blade in your bathroom.

My girlfriend loves Dreadnaught cream. Even if he does not use the straight razor to shave, this cream smells amazing. I tell all my friends to buy it, regardless of their method.

Here's the brush I bought:

I love it.

You're welcome.

Sincerely,

This is gonna sounds a little weird but there’s a brand called Bikini Zone that makes a gel you use right after shaving to prevent irritation and breakouts. Stings a bit at first but totally worth it.

Yes! This was something I put a lot of thought into when I was really sick.

  • /u/mnicoleb1773 already mentioned body wipes, which is an essential for the spoonie life. We're living in the golden age of body wipes and I love it. There are the medical grade ones (like these) and the fancier ones they sell in stores now for, like, "active people on the go", and the deodorant ones just for underarms, or whatever. For vulva-owners, I definitely recommend a wipe designed for that area.

  • After the wipes, a good body powder is sometimes helpful (I love Lush's "silky underwear" to use under arms and the underboob area).

  • For hair, if yours is short enough you can use rinse-free shampoo (some even come in a shower cap form where you just put it on and smoosh it around and throw it out). I usually fared better with dry shampoo and a re-hydrating spray for curly/wavy hair since my ends tend to dry out.

  • And then there's shaving. Get an electric shaver that works dry. I got this basic one for $18, and it's absolutely good enough. I even use it on underarms after getting the area clean and thoroughly dry (a tiny bit of powder rubbed in before is helpful to reduce friction).

  • Another option for shaving is the shave cream by EOS. It can be used dry! And it works as long as your razor is good and sharp and you go a tiny bit slower. (I wiped a damp washcloth on my legs first and that seemed to help) And then follow it with a damp cloth to get the residue. And you can just be sitting on the floor to do this anywhere.

  • When I was feeling ambitious enough to shower, a stool was essential. My shower is tiny, and this one still fit. If you've got a bigger shower stall (or even a tub!) you can find some cuter shower chairs, even.

  • And I would sit to floss. And really just, any time that it was logistically possible.

Nothing special. Just shaving cream, a razor, and 3 years of practice.

So I've got the hawaiian body oil which I don't use too often, but is good after a shower once and a while. Uh then I also have the good&clean mini peel which I've used only once I think, and actually probably need to try again because I have some blackheads. That's pretty much it, honestly I would say the Dr Bronners is my, not so much secret, but #1 key product for good skin. I shower probably 4-6 times a week with that stuff. Oh and then I also have this shave cream.

I can't tell you which stores carry that stuff in Canada though, sorry.

Some other general healthy skin tips are:

  • Drink plenty of water
  • Eat Plenty of fresh leafy greens and fruits
  • Moderate daily exposure to direct sunlight
  • Don't smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol
  • get plenty of sleep

  1. Use Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Smooth Shave Gel. Like the label says, it can slow the growth of your beard. I've recently started using it and now after 3 days it looks like I haven't shaved in a day or so. You can probably find it in a local drug store as well.

  2. Get a tube of the orangest lipstick you can find and put it only where you have beard shadow and work it in and spread it around kind of like a blush. Not too much, just so you can cover. A little goes a long way. Then go over it with foundation and the rest of your make-up. It sounds weird, but the orange cancels out the bluish tint that beard shadow causes.I used this recently and it came out like this.

Our bodies can freak out over all kinds of silly crap. Have you moved to a place with hard water? Using a new fabric softener? Are your panties chafing your tender spots? Maybe just give shaving a break for awhile until your skin calms down and perhaps try a more moisturizing shaving option? I find Alba Botanica and Kiss My Face to be very moisturizing, although the emollients tend to gunk up the razor more than traditional foams.

You know what else has Lanolin that works well on hockey gloves? Some women's shaving creams like Skintimate in the pink can: https://www.amazon.com/Skintimate-Therapy-Moisturizing-Lanolin-Butter/dp/B0032ANCYG?th=1

I'm think the pure lanolin cream may be better, but I've tried the women's shaving cream on gloves and it does condition them well.

I use a trimmer as well but razor on the boys. Coconut oil firstly is great for everything, lotion, face, cleanser, lube, and helps a little for shaving. I have used conditioner but currently use this. Coconut oil at BJs same brand and here as well. Stuff smells like toasted coconut which is a great thing.

Shave ONLY after a hot shower, leave this shave gel on your face for at least 3-5 mins before you start:

https://www.amazon.com/Aveeno-Positively-Smooth-Shave-Pack/dp/B004AI3406/ref=sr_1_13?keywords=aveeno+shave&qid=1563413560&s=gateway&sr=8-13

Use THESE razers only:

Shave AGAINST the grain only and as few times as possible, no more than 3 in the same spot. My beard is thicker than anyone else's, it can literally grow outward like a cactus fro.

Let me know how it goes.
