I run outside in the cold sometimes. I wear multiple layers.

Socks:

Polyester running socks

Pants:

Compression pants

Track pants on top of the compression pants

Upper body:

Compression shirt

long sleeve polyester running shirt

polyester hoodie

I use this combination when I run outside in about 30-40 degree weather. If it is colder than that, you can use additional layers.

You can find a lot of this stuff at Target also (although they sell the generic brand).

I have similar dimensions to you and have two pairs of these. I love them. They're my go to comfy pants now. I wear them in 3x.

FFS, where do I get straight leg track/athletic pants that aren't ridiculously long!

This is mildly infuriating. I've been wearing the same beat up active/daily pants for the last 7 years because I can't find new ones that aren't 4+ inches too long. I'm not exaggerating; I've bought ones to try and compared to my old ones of the same type, size, material, etc. they're 4+ inches longer. It doesn't matter which brand either. It's like they all decided that they want to send people to get their active pants altered.

Basically for something that would fit me, I'd have to get tapered legs with elastic cuffs or slim/skinny fits, neither of which I like. I just want straight leg - not baggy but not clingy either. I can tolerate minor tapering but nothing choking my ankles and definitely NO bunching on shoes at the bottom. No needing to unzip the ankles to widen the leg opening.

Seriously, it's not like I'm a weird sized person. There has to be millions of people with my proportions. Where are they getting their active pants?

Budget: $40, but at this point I'd be willing to take out a mortgage.

Material: Something light and breathable like nylon or rayon, but don't want them noisy either. No cotton; I live in Georgia and summers are hot. I have to be able to wear them outside during the day outside for work.
