By far my favorite IFTTT script is for my security camera at the front door of my house. When motion is detected, my camera system shoots out an email with a still image to the IFTTT email address. Basically, my wrists buzzes with a picture of who is at the front door every time someone walks up to my house. Technology is amazing.

FYI - this is the security system I bought off Amazon:

You can buy a standard gold replacement watchband that will work on the Gear Live (not sure about G Watch). I did the same but got a black stainless steel version for mine (22mm). You'll need to get different watchband spring bars, as the spring bars included with the Gear Live will not work with the bands below due to the little handle they added.

I've ordered mine, we'll see when it arrives. I can tell you my old Sony Smartwatch 3 did an admirable job. The issue is cycling and taking your eyes off the road to look at data on your wrist. It's harder than it sounds. I purchased this but honestly never tested it out.

Amazon.co.uk with quick release pins.

BTW mine came apart around the clasp, because I went running with it, and there is no stitching where it's really needed. Glued it back together with brushable Loctite Super Glue. Like new in 20 seconds.

I have this one on my silver Hwatch 1 and it's been great!

I received the Skinomi screen protector for my GWAR for Christmas. It's basically the same principle as a ZAGG protector, whereby you are given the protector itself, as well as the spray which you apply to the protector, and then set it in place on the device. The Skinomi protects virtually the whole watch; screen, bezel, sides, lugs, back, etc. The application process was not that difficult and the protector does not (in my opinion) interfere with the operation of the watch whatsoever.

Best watch band ever for big wrist, you can center the latch.... Only big wrist people will know that pain. Sadly it doesn't work on my new 360, it was awesome on the g watch though

I'm working on my first ever watch face that has been inspired by the Function watch face and my own Skagen Titanium watch.

As someone who switched his Citizen Eco Drive Dive Watch for the Moto 360, I think it feels very small and light. Like /u/wifflebb said, it's a matter of opinion.

I bought a tool set on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000T9VK56/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I figured for $9, it would be worth having for the forseeable future.

I hope it looks good on the lg watch r. I had the 360 but sold it because I was unhappy with it and went back to my gear live for now waiting for G watch R.

u/carefreecretin · 1 pointr/AndroidWear

Ah, man, I feel your pain. I ended up not sending it off. I bought a two pack of protectors for it and figured I'd put one on until I was ready/able to send it off.

After I thoroughly cleaned the face and scratch, I put the screen protector on and found the scratch was almost unnoticeable.

Someone recommended jeweler's Rouge, but I couldn't find anything about using it on a touch screen and I didn't want to make things worse.

Screen protector is dirt cheap on amazon-
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06X17LHWK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1497340598&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=lg+watch+sport+screen+protector&dpPl=1&dpID=51UG7ccpDXL&ref=plSrch

If you go the lg route, I'd be really interested to know how much they end up charging.

As an Android Developer I basically only wear {favorite band} t-shirts. I have a marry 'em and bury 'em suit with dress shirt but have not worn it with the watch. In fact I never wear long sleeves except in that suit. Running my finger down the band I don't think the fine mesh would tear up anything but I have no experience to back that up.

It is similar the band I had on my Huawei watch and I did wear dress shirts with it more than once without any issues. Maybe I just got lucky or did not have the shirt on for long enough for it to be affected.

Here is the link to the bands I got.

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TKTKVV6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The picture is actually wrong as the mesh one I got does not have a metal closing clasp. It has a magnetic end to the strap. I have not tried the metal link band (shown on left in main picture)

So after seeing someone apply a carbon fiber body skin to their GWR I decided to do the same as I was swapping straps. Instead of a themed skin I just went with the transparent one from Skinomi found Here. The screen protector part was perfect. There isn't even any gap between the screen protector and the bezel. The rear was easy enough but holy hell, the rest of the skin was a pain in the ass to get one. I'd recommend the screen protector to anyone but I wouldn't recommend getting the full body kit unless you really plan on roughing up your watch or you really want a themed skin on it.

I also recommend that you apply the solution liberally.
