Hahaha, thanks for the support. I get it though. Wanna make a dog owner mad? Tell them their dog doesn't feel guilt. Its been tested and proven but some owners absolutely refuse to believe it. My own SO and I almost got into a big argument over it!

Its a difficult concept for people. Emotional attachment and all that. It comes for a place of love and I try not to fault people for it unless the belief becomes harmful to the dog.

For anyone interested, I would highly recommend reading either of these books, especially the first. It really changed my view of my dogs and has made me and them so much happier! I'm reading the second right now and so far it's great too.

use food grade diatomaceous earth everywhere. Don't stop using the exterminators.

Yes, it's pet safe and yes, it works.

Elephants are sentient, and one of the most intelligent creatures on Earth.

It’s possible — even probable — that all living creatures are sentient. According to Darwin, it’s a matter of degree. Whether we can know depends on our ability to study/comprehend them.

The Aug. 2017 issue of National Geographic covers the topic of animal sentience in detail.

We use the Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter. Our 2 cats go through a 40lb bag a month. It's pretty cheap too.

That's the one! It has some great stories in there, and yes, a lot of people have been scalded to death in the geysers. You can frequently witness tourists going off the boardwalks, illegally, to get closer to the geysers. Darwin was really on to something.

Gotta get rid of excess hunting energy by playing with it. toys

u/TeaBeforeWar · 2 pointsr/AnimalsBeingJerks

Also a puzzle toy is an option. My little pig-dog has a tug-a-jug, which takes him a good five minutes to eat his dinner, instead of fifteen seconds.

My cat did the same thing. we got her this and it seems to help.

"common sense", what's this, is it a book or something? Where do I buy it from?

Edit: Found it on Amazon seems to have a lot of stuff about independence from Britain in it but I'll try it out.

Probably never read this book.

There was a section about how someone had their eye ripped open by a swooping magpie.

There's some out there - for instance, Isaac Asimov (atheist, humanist) actually wrote a secular guide to the Bible back in the day.

When I was a kid and we had horses, and I learned that some of them have a habit of chewing on wood when they are bored, have a nutritionally deficient diet, or are just horse assholes. Cows usually go for wood due to mineral deficiencies in their diet. Tell your neighbor to make sure they have a salt lick and provide their cattle with a mineral supplement.

You can also purchase liquid treatments like chew stop to prevent chewing, at least for horses, anyway. It'd probably work for cows. Or there's an analog for cows.

I had to buy this giant bowl to stop our cat from tipping her water over every day. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000JLKJ60/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dcZIAbB0YR7QA

Or those stupid little toy fishes they are the bane of my existence. Hurt like hell when you step on them.

My nephew leaves it at my house, plays for five minutes, then here comes kitty to relocate those suckers and bat them around every hour on the hour.

ETA: they also have the mini version ...
