It really depends on what kind of case you're using. Screen protector manufacturers typically design their screen protectors to use with their cases. For example, the GD Smith glass protector is super awesome, and I have been using it with their slim fit cases.

In order of preference:

1 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01F8PF074/ref=s9_acsd_hps_bw_c_x_2

2 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GDZ57E4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

3 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G94NDY0/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

What kind of case do you use on your phone? I have had luck with the first two with the Spigen clear cases (both of them), and those are the ones that have lips on the top and bottom of the face side, which is typically what pushes the screen protector up.

My favorite would probably be the Speck candyshell case. It's a pretty unique design so it might to be to everyone's taste but I personally really like it. It's very protective and secure (I had it for the S6 as well and the screen has survived numerous 6ft drops face-down), and it's very affordable for the quality and name reputation that you're getting.

I'm loving it so far, I don't think I'm going to use it as a cardholder. I got a vent mount for someone as a gift. I think I'm going to get one for me and put the metal plate in there. I tried it out and it works awesome.

The case looks good, the buttons don't stick out and it's already survived a hard fall on the hardwood floor. I think I'm going to keep it. Love this phone and want to keep it pristine as long as I can.

Stay away from the case with the kickstand. The kickstand is flimsy as hell and will probably be lost within a week. Only cheap feeling product I've ever gotten from spigen.

u/taintedbloop · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

I just replaced my battery and never opened a smartphone before. Hardest part was getting the back glass off, but the rest was pretty easy. Its a little hard to find good batteries though, there are no official ones anymore..all knockoffs.

I highly recommend this kit, as it comes with almost everything you need including the back adhesive which most kits dont have. Youll also need a hair dryer or a heat gun though to heat up the back to soften the glue. I also got one of these tools to help apply more suction cause the included suction cups in these kits are too small and hard to use.

u/Darkpookie · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I'm loving my Obliq slim meta case. Love the looks, doesn't add much bulk, and I like how the case makes the volume and power buttons easy to feel for. The back isn't super grippy so watch out for that.

Supposedly samsung will honor the warranty. This is from an amazon.com question/answer so take it with a grain of salt.

>Question: Does it come with a warranty that is useful in the U.S.?..and if so, who is it through?
Answer: I called Samsung, and the representative explained things as follows. Phones purchased in the U.S. have a U.S. warranty and are automatically registered with Samsung for warranty support. International phones are not automatically registered in the U.S., so the owner will need to show proof of purchase before Samsung will honor the warranty.

TL;DR The phone, and no other phones, support UHS-II which is the fast bus speed. So just go grab a samsung EVO PRO and you're done.

Alright, here is a big argument about it on the forums.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/s7-edge-uhs-ii-u3-t3324743/page1

There are a few speed standards here so you should go to wikipedia first to understand them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Ultra_High_Speed_.28UHS.29_bus

The word you were looking for is "bus" which is the connection controller interface, essentially.

Here is someone saying no phones have UHS-II yet http://hardwarerecs.stackexchange.com/questions/2556/suggest-me-phones-with-uhs-ii-support

So yeah, a lot of these cards WOULD be overkill for your device. This is a big surprise to me.

If you look at the UHS-II cards on amazon, they are all like $50 or more and are probably for pro photography or something.
https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=UHS-II&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3AUHS-II

I did a bunch of research before I bought mine and found the samsung EVO PRO is just about the best card for the bus speed. It is also rated extremely or as the top card for the money on about every site. Samsung does their chips right.

https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Class-Adapter-MB-MC64DA-AM/dp/B01273JZMG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1469130806&sr=8-2&keywords=samsung+sd

u/Sneeko · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I've got the Neo Hybrid on my S7 Edge, and love it. Just enough protection around the edges, and has a nice grippy texture to the back. Adds very little in the way of thickness to the phone. I've got the gold version, and although the gold Neo Hyrbid is out of stock on Amazon right now, it is a very nice match to the phone itself. The gunmetal and silver versions are still in stock though.

u/TheRealBigLou · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

No, that's not really a great deal.

I can get all those on Amazon for much cheaper:

Samsung Fast Wireless Charger: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012AWBN9C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_3&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Aukey QuickCharge 2.0 Car Charger: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00LJT2EPK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_2&smid=A1KWJVS57NX03I

Aukey 10,400 mAh Battery Pack with QuickCharge 2.0: http://www.amazon.com/10400mAh-Portable-External-Battery-Qualcomm/dp/B00UBDI7EC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1457454657&sr=8-1&keywords=quick+charge+2.0+battery+pack

Grand total: $82.98 $80.98 with free 2-day shipping.

And that's if you don't get more affordable options like the Choetech wireless charger for $30 or a myriad of cheaper battery packs. I, however, specifically listed brands that can 100% be trusted.

u/Hero-Requests · -1 pointsr/GalaxyS7

most low price micro SD card you see on amazing has 80 MB/s READ speed and 20 MB/s WRITE speed. They are between $20-$40. 64GB are usually under $30. Those speed are fine if you use it for basic stuff like using camera, storing music, etc.. I have a 128GB card from Samsung EVO+ and it has been great. WRITE speed is a little slow when I storing tons of movies on my phone for a long trip but other than that, 4k camera and burst mode have no issue with using that card or any card with the 20 MB/s WRITE speed.

Don't waste your money on the card with fast WRITE speed unless you really need it.

This card in the link below is perfect for what you need. 64GB for $20. Samsung EVO+.

I've been using a Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal for a couple of months now. Dropped it once, ended up with some scratches on the bumper, but phone is intact. Case fits the phone really well, pretty tight, no chance of it popping out. No yellowing at all.

Here's an Amazon link to the one I bought: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01A7IDQV4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_CDw3xbQ9SV7A6

u/swordstool · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

Carved has wood cases for preorder. Very pretty. But it looks like Ballistic has wood ones that will be better for drop protection. I'm waiting for the Ballistic ones for a wood case. But I got the Spigen Neo Hybrid for the interim. Not bad for $18 Prime.

u/swainsmatee · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

International doesn't come with a power bank and the us version is like 46 bucks from amazon

Actually 56.
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Fast-Charge-Wireless-Charging/dp/B012AWBN9C

So two for 56 is a good deal. If you don't want imitation shit. But show me that authentic sealed is retail version of the Samsung quick charge power bank in black with the adaptive charger for 26 bucks sold by a verifiable non cointerfiet vendor and by all means I'll retract.my statement.

In fact the CHEAPEST new one listed by any vendor.on Amazon is 48.

u/basicallyascientist · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I've been using Yootech and I haven't been disappointed. Its a dry install and at $8 for two it's not too much of a risk. The fit is 9.9/10, literally almost perfect and it doesn't get that orange peel effect like iQshield and other wet installs. Let me know if you decide to pick this one up or have questions.

u/Manjews · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I ordered this one. SanDisk Extreme 64GB

Not quite as fast as some of the others out there but still gets great speeds for the price (~80MB/s reads and ~75MB/s writes).

u/tmeuze · 6 pointsr/GalaxyS7

I use a magnetic mount like this. Owing to the metal build of the phone, it stays put without even using the included plates, even with a case on (same as yours).
So easy to set and remove when getting in and out of the car.

u/mvillar24 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I bought one very recently. After charging it to max over night and leaving it in my coat pocket for a few days, I finally tried it. During that attempt, it wouldn't charge the S7's battery (which was around 35%).

I recharged the Anker battery bank and tried it again at home and both the unit and the USB that came with it, worked fine.

I plan on continue testing it, carrying a spare battery bank and a few USB cables just in case it doesn't work in the field again.

FWIW, I've had excellent results with other Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 battery banks such as:

  1. AUKEY 10400mAh Power Bank Portable Charger http://www.amazon.com/10400mAh-Portable-Charger-Qualcomm-Samsung/dp/B00UBDI7EC
  2. AUKEY 6000mAh Portable http://www.amazon.com/6000mAh-Portable-External-Qualcomm-Technology/dp/B0193B5VVY

u/IByrdl · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

I was curious of this as well, I found a 6000mAh slim one by Aukey on Amazon. 6.1 x 3.1 x 0.5 inches

http://amzn.com/B0193B5VVY

Anker also has a compact 10,000mAh one as well. 3.8 x 2.4 x 0.9 inches

http://amzn.com/B013HSQXZC

For comparison, the one you listed is 5.4 x 4.1 x 1.6 inches

u/worklag · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

as for the case i went with the tough armor case in gold. For taking it in and out for VR it's not bad at all, i dont even take the hard plastic off to get the phone out.

Found this when i was case shopping and it works very well (i dont have the magnet secured to the case, just floating between the hard and soft parts of the case)

u/Khord · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

It's just the nature of it. Some cases are going to grip the curved edge more. Others, like snap on thin cases, do not grip the edge as much and are fine with this protector.

So my debate right now is to stick with this protector and a thin case, or get a protector that only rests on the flat area of the glass, and use the thicker cases.

These are the 3 Spigens I have, last 2 I believe are variants of yours, and the ones that peel up for me. First one is working with the IQ sheild.

I used Samsung pay on a vending machine and got a pop for $1.50. Few hours later I picked up this http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-MicroSDXC-Adapter-SDSQXNE-064G-GN6MA/dp/B013CP5IWO/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1458069723&sr=1-2&keywords=sandisk+extreme+plus and now that I'm looking at it again looks like she actually typed lower than the Amazon price (I have 5 left on the gift card)

u/amchaudhry · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I ended up going with this one. Transcend 64 GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-I/U3 Memory Card with Adapter 95 Mb/s. Should I be regretting my decision? It was highly reviewed on Amazon and someone here also gave it high praise.

u/bailout911 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

My personal favorite, have used it on multiple phones now:

Ringke Slim

u/TEHMONSTRO · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

I ended up getting the SanDisk Extreme 64GB for higher transfer rates / better overall performance.

Currently using the Speck Candyshell Grip. I love how much protection it adds without too much builk. Only gripe I have about it is the gloss black color, easy to see smudges.

I was using a Spigen Slim Armor case but didn't like it. It felt too cheap and it added a lot of uneccesary width to the phone. It also didn't have good buttons and I found them difficult to find. The Speck is a much better case IMO

u/popsicle_of_meat · 7 pointsr/GalaxyS7

I'm a fan of Aukey, so I'd recommend THIS ONE for 10000mAh.

Or THIS ONE that's quite a bit more compact but only 6000mAh, so not quite 2 charges.

u/xBigChillinx · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

Yes.

I upgraded from the S6 to the S7 Edge specifically for the big ass battery. I have not regretted my purchase for that reason ever.

And you can buy a case to help with gripping it. I personally use this and you still keep the edge funtionality.

u/EntropismAtWork · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

They make a harder PET protector that feels a lot better than the standard PET sheet, though not quite as nice as glass. I'll be installing this tonight:

Rhino Shield CrashGuard is good for protection and has some insane drop tests on YouTube. The Spigen Neo Hybrid Crystal is a popular choice for the S7.

u/imurphy80 · 1 pointr/GalaxyS7

u/Anon00112233 · 2 pointsr/GalaxyS7

It sounds like you use your phone a lot, which means that your battery also gets used a lot. I always charge my phone when I can, I keep it plugged in when I'm driving or when I'm at home to fast chargers. Charges really fast and lasts several hours of screen on time. My advice is to 1st get an external battery case that will charge your phone when the phones battery dies. If that doesn't work for you then get the battery changed and then also buy an external battery case. Bottom line is NO PHONE AVAILABLE is gonna last all day and night without being charged. Also Batteries Plus stores will do it for around $80 and use a genuine Rayovac or Duracell battery pack, I forgot which one. Here is a good external battery case which will charge your phone more than once.

No, that pertains to the compatibility to the included adaptive charger of the phone.

> Not Support Galaxy S7 and S7 edge Original Factory Adaptive Fast Charger.

This fast wireless charger requires a QC 2.0 charger and is not compatible with an adaptive charger. IIRC, s6 and s7 are compatible with both AC and QC.

I've been using this one since getting the s7 in March. No complaints. I've dropping it a couple times with no issues - it landed screen up both times. Very thin, almost can't tell it's wearing a case, and it offers camera protection. Gives it a bit more grip than without the case.
