ive had at least 4 break on me (other brands). I have been using the red and gray/white Samsung cards for awhile with no complaints. They're fast and durable

I've pasted links to all the items from amazon below. There's a lot of tutorials out there, but here's a good one that has all the information you need:

Thank you guys! Y'all answered my question within seconds!! One more question, I'm looking at these two cards and I want to see which you'd recommend and if there are any differences between the two.

TL;DR The phone, and no other phones, support UHS-II which is the fast bus speed. So just go grab a samsung EVO PRO and you're done.

Alright, here is a big argument about it on the forums.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/s7-edge-uhs-ii-u3-t3324743/page1

There are a few speed standards here so you should go to wikipedia first to understand them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Secure_Digital#Ultra_High_Speed_.28UHS.29_bus

The word you were looking for is "bus" which is the connection controller interface, essentially.

Here is someone saying no phones have UHS-II yet http://hardwarerecs.stackexchange.com/questions/2556/suggest-me-phones-with-uhs-ii-support

So yeah, a lot of these cards WOULD be overkill for your device. This is a big surprise to me.

If you look at the UHS-II cards on amazon, they are all like $50 or more and are probably for pro photography or something.

I did a bunch of research before I bought mine and found the samsung EVO PRO is just about the best card for the bus speed. It is also rated extremely or as the top card for the money on about every site. Samsung does their chips right.

Why not just get this? https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Memory-Adapter-MB-MC64DA-AM/dp/B01273JZMG

Less money and higher read speed.

edit: removed potential referral link that wasn't mine / didn't mean to add.

Try this card in your cam. It’s “temperature proof” and I haven’t had one of these fail yet.

For some reason, changing my tv setting enabling and disabling overscan kinda fixed the problem. But the answer to your question is, this is my sd card.

Can someone explain the difference between this card and the evo+ here?

Other than the other one being 64gb obviously, because that's the size I'm looking for, they seem identical to me. Both have the same read/write speeds (based on the reviews at least), both UHS-1, and the same price for the same capacity, just that one's green and one's red. Am I missing something?

Amazon is selling the same card for 23.

I had this same issue. I was on a U1 card, then bought a U3 card and the upgrade was night and day. I still get some background app crashed but I just consider that part of being an early adopter.

This is the 64gb card I got, pictured is a U1 but a U3 arrived:

most low price micro SD card you see on amazing has 80 MB/s READ speed and 20 MB/s WRITE speed. They are between $20-$40. 64GB are usually under $30. Those speed are fine if you use it for basic stuff like using camera, storing music, etc.. I have a 128GB card from Samsung EVO+ and it has been great. WRITE speed is a little slow when I storing tons of movies on my phone for a long trip but other than that, 4k camera and burst mode have no issue with using that card or any card with the 20 MB/s WRITE speed.

Don't waste your money on the card with fast WRITE speed unless you really need it.

This card in the link below is perfect for what you need. 64GB for $20. Samsung EVO+.
