Do you know why at one point MonHun swapped to the 3DS?

Let me tell you the success that was PSP and what it did for MonHun players, the PSP allow the Japanese and their population density boost the spread and gossip about MonHun

Do you know why hunts are limited to 50 minutes, and a party of 4 and been that why for a long time? Its because Japan literally bumps shoulders constantly and see each other so much they just whip out the PSP and play.

3DS comes in for 3G, 4, 4G, X, XX. Why the 3DS? Why not a powerful machine like a PC? Because Japan knows, no one fucking sits at home to enjoy MonHun that isn't a gaijin like us. (And if they did they all live in condo-complexes and are basically next door neighbors.)

They play that shit on the train, on the bus, during breaks at school and work, during after school, commuting back from work, etc. They basically live and breathe MonHun (not all of them but when they don't have like Pokemon or Final Fantasy, you mingle with MonHun)

Bringing your counter argument, I want to ask you "where is the Bonfire, in Monhun?" a legit Sword stuck in a burn pile of cinders where the player may or may not have to light it?

It doesn't do that, not even in Worlds. And both are Japanese Games.

You have legit Figmas Bandai Action Figures Figures for a well cemented franchise.

And then you DS players finally get an Amiibo for Solaire and you get the hype when MonHun players do.

There is no Fanboying, because if anyone is louder, it is the DS players trying their best to be heard in a crowd they don't own. Other Games reference DS, but there were games that did that for MonHun

MonHun is a legit king of a franchise, its only when it leaves a console can other franchises stand a chance.

Like Soul Sacrifice, Freedom Wars, Final Fantasy Explorers, Toukiden, God Eater, Dauntless, Rurikhan

And they don't use "MonHun-like" to subscribe the game, they tell you, its a clone.

Horizon Zero Dawn, at one point was the "next best thing Monster Hunter", breaking Robotic parts, Harvesting, upgrading gear, etc.

well you cant get ones that are made to have interchangeable parts, but there are a few that you can swap pieces with since they're the same brand.

here are some Revoltech:

Zinogre Armor

Ratholos Armor

Azure Ratholos Armor

Here are some Nendoroids:

Lagia Armor

Barioth Armor

Kirin Armor

Lagombi Armor

And heres one that might be able to swap weapons with a revoltech but dont quote me on that, its one that i dont own.

these are pretty much the only armored figures were going to get for a while, although that will probably change by the time the next season of figures starts coming out, whenever that is.

also note that i did link to the amazon sellers of these figures, but if you do plan on buying any you should probably look into other places to buy them since amazon sellers like to jack up the price quite a bit.

EDIT: also you might have your best luck finding monster hunter merch at a con, i go to Otakon every year and find things i havent seen online

u/Gaius_Grahcci · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

Yea, thankfully MH is huge over in Japan and Revoltech has cashed in with some very nice figures. Bandai has some pretty crazy ones too, like this Chogokin Rathalos (which also comes in a Silver color) and a Gore Magala girl thing and a Zinogre god thing

u/ShadowGX · 3 pointsr/MonsterHunter

What is "cheap" to you, though?

Azure Rath you can usually get for pretty cheap as a single, the only ones I'm seeing right now though come with no stand. However, if that doesn't bother you and you don't mind the variant, there's an under $10 figure for you right there.

Keychains and plushies are also pretty cheap.

For single figures, non-variant, the best I've found is this
or this.

Amazon is a good place to get blind boxes for cheaper than eBay (usually), but not opened boxes.

Best cheap figures overall are the blind boxes. If you can save up ~$60 you can buy a full set from Amazon which will include a Rathalos and whatever else comes in that set, like this or this (if you want a couple variants) for example.

u/xvilemx · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

Yeah, it's pretty old now, but when it came out I only payed $30 shipped from Japan Amazon. You can get something similar for pretty cheap though.

There are a few different ways to fill seamlines, with my preference being Tamiya Thin Plastic Cement. Filling seams should only be done if you want to paint, as you get to paint over the filled seam. As for masking, any small measuring tool is helpful. In addition, good Masking Tape can also help.

Play-Asia/Renchi (I prefer Renchi because they have much better customer service but they're currently relocating to a new warehouse and so aren't accepting any new orders for a few months). The price (mark up? hardly) is not ridiculous there. The game is roughly $55 with either 3 week shipping for $4 or 1-3 day shipping for $17.

The shipping is a little absurd but do remember it's being flown across the planet, it's going to be a little more pricey than just ordering something off of amazon.

As you can see here the price for P3rd HD in Japan is 4,800 yen, which translates roughly into $61. The price on import sites is actually quite fair.

Man alive you nearly made my heart skip a beat.

/u/raptorhunter666's link goes to a bundle, hence the inflated price.

Here is a link to the game by itself: CLICKY.

Hoodie

Watch

The hoodie is a little bit smaller than you think (it’s just shorter, the sleeves and chest are fine) so be a little careful. Other than that it’s super comfy and warm.

u/Chiiplus · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

it's really pricey to buy them one by one in america which is why ebay is the best for that option. Your next best bet is complete sets from amazon but they run from $60-$300 depending on how old the set is.

Here is the set with a ash ketcha (its the cheapist set out there right now so depending on how bad you want ketcha its the best deal right now. So either pay $20-$30 for just a ketcha or get this set with one in it for $50

and here is a set with a zinogre:

Sounds like you are looking for the Gore Magara case.

I have it as well as 2 other cases. I did a comparison post with the 3 cases a while back. Here's some images that might help you get an idea of its size.

I started with a imported japanese standard 3ds. I played MH4, and MH4G on it. I upgraded to a japanese new 3ds XL mid-jan 2016. I played MH4G and MHX on it.

The difference is pretty crazy since I jumped from a normal size 3ds to a new 3ds xl.

$18 on amazon if you live in the US

I'd say it's worth it. Better than replaying 100 hours.

u/MissilesOfOctober · 2 pointsr/MonsterHunter

I don't believe JalenTheEpic is correct. If you're still interested in Xlink, you should know that it's possible to play MHFU with Xlink and an unmodded psp if you have a network adapter that is compatible with Xlink. JalenTheEpic is probably referring to AdhocToUsb, which is a plugin that bypasses the need for a compatible network adapter and lets you use a USB cable instead.

There are many compatible USB adapters, but the only one I have bookmarked is this, so you could start there. If you've got any other questions, feel free to drop me a message.

u/GeraldineKerla · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

I'm looking at getting this for a friend, but I want to know that if I buy it from AUS, would it work in another country, and would it work anyway since it specifically states that its a pre-load? Does it carry over into the actual game?

u/ShadyTea · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

That one you found on amazon if you can find that one anywhere else Link it to us on here,i definitely want that one

u/MysticB · 2 pointsr/MonsterHunter

It's unlikely (but possible) that you have two wireless cards.

If you either don't have two or they aren't compatible (if they're internal cards which came with your computer, there's only a slim chance of them being compatible), then you'll need to get one. There is a short list of compatible adapters on the Xlink Kai website, but I personally suggest just getting a Planex one (they are all compatible, as Planex officially sponsors Xlink Kai). This is the one I use: Planex GW-USNano

u/the_native · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

There are also posters, I've thought about buying one but don't have anywhere to put one. The poster I linked is like the one you posted but it's missing Dara Amadyura.

u/boobers3 · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

The only thing I could recommend is possibly buying a comfort grip. I just ordered this one off Amazon, unfortunately I can't tell you if it's any good yet.

I want to hunt more, but holding the n3dsxl is painful after awhile.

u/ironprominent · 2 pointsr/MonsterHunter

Unless the site you're buying the game from is somehow selling it for more than 150 there's no way it's going to cost you more than 400. Just buy your 3DS from Amazon.

u/foxfoxwaltz · 1 pointr/MonsterHunter

Seriously go to amazon and it is on sale RIDICULOUSLY CHEAP compared to what it used to be. And don't mind the ones that say 'good' in used condition, most people are receiving theirs in near mint! If you get it, let me know!

It's amazing how much people's opinions can differ... :D

I've been reading a lot of Japanese reviews, and on Amazon JP right now, MH4G is sitting at 2.5/5 stars, with one of the primary complaints being that this version hardly adds any new content. I have seen many, many reviews basically stating that - "For customers that already own 4, it's an insult to charge full price for this! Should have been DLC content for the original."

http://www.amazon.co.jp/product-reviews/B00LSLNYBW/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

Now, I know that people (apparently, even the Japanese) love to just go with "Something I didn't like? ONE STAR - WORST GAME EVAH!" type reviews, but the fact that there are so many here, plus the fact that previous versions seemed to have much better reviews on the same site (Monster Hunter 3G is sitting at 4/5 on Amazon JP), gives me pause, and makes me wonder whether or not there is some truth to these complaints.

Edit: For anyone wondering, some other complaints I am seeing are:

  • They have gone too far with trying to make the game artificially difficult. There are too many cases where the monster has an opening that is impossible to read, extremely small, or has none at all. On top of this, people seem pissed that everything seems to be ridiculously fast, and doing massive damage. Seems to be a general feeling that stuff has went from feeling "challenging" to straight "unfair".
  • Quite a few of the monsters seem to have attacks that are "homing" now (I.e, even if you have done a good job with positioning yourself, a monster will switch direction mid attack, causing that attack to still hit).
  • Due to increased "difficulty" all the of the new content is extremely unfriendly (/impossible) to solo players.
  • Not much in the way of new weapons/armor.
  • None of the complaints people had about the base 4G version were addressed (The players seem to feel that the developer(s) are ignoring them.)

Also, before anyone starts in on me, I'm not trying to start a shitstorm with this (Please don't shoot the messenger!). I'm just trying to convey what I'm reading the Japanese customers complaining about (And these complaints seem pretty consistent.)
