Well I love my tempered glass protector, I think that's the most important accessory for any phone. Don't recall the brand. And this Spigen clear case is quite nice

But I think the one I'd recommend most to people is the Koomus CD slot car mount, which I am very happy with, after years of trying to find the perfect way of mounting my phone in the car. http://www.amazon.com/Koomus-CD-Air-Smartphone-Android-Devices/dp/B00HRKI5V2/ref=sr_1_2?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1450358034&sr=1-2&keywords=koomus

Defenitely the Verus case!

I think it just looks amazing. Ports are clear, had nog headphones or chargers wich didn't fit. The inner case feels really solid, so it will protect your 6P pretty good. Also on the back side it has a horizontal pattern which give it a metal-ish look. It looks and feels great. I chose the blue version which give your phone a unique look.

u/dty06 · 4 pointsr/Nexus6P

Welcome to the wonderful world of Nexus!

I have the 64GB Frost in a Google Live Case. I also have the Verus case (found here: http://www.amazon.com/Nexus-Verus-Shield-Satin-Silver/dp/B015GHQHZ8/ ) and I love them both. I like the Live Case a bit more because of the personalized photo, but the Verus case is very nice for a good price.

What carrier did you end up going with?

If you have any questions or issues, please don't hesitate to ask!

I had the Mountek one for 3 years and loved it... CD tray usage was nice. it finally broke the other day and i picked up another type that was magnetic.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0175W45I8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

it c omes with 2 plates, a super thin one to go between your phone and inside of your case (im using that method right now) and another plate that has 3M tape on the back to place on your phone directly if you go naked.

its pretty dang awesome and very strong.

u/reallynormal_ · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

The Centra Snap case I've owned for a month and a bit, and it feels awesome. I used to have the Adopted case before that and the Centra is much, much better. Good cutouts, buttons are easy to press, and because of the almost non-existent lip I feel like I'm using it without a case because of how my fingers just slide off the screen.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AGOI1KU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I got the grey thinking it would be a nice switch-up, and it's really nice but it probably would've looked so much cooler in black.

edit: OH and the sandstone texture is what puts it above many other cases, it feels really great. The black and grey have the sandstone texture and I believe the mint one has a different texture.

u/akashik · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I'd suggest buying a phone case. I love the look and feel of the 6P but find it pretty damn slippery. I bought this super slim one on Amazon.

Other than that I've been very happy with both the phone and Project Fi.

u/KCintheOC · 0 pointsr/Nexus6P

I purchased the Spigen magnetic air vent mount and it is the best car mount I've ever had. I've had dash stick-ons, CD player inserts, but this one takes the cake and its the cheapest of them all at 8 bucks. Nothing to open or release, just stick your phone on and pull it off. It's super secure and doesn't wobble at all. I haven't tried a crash test yet but it certainly holds up to hard breaking just fine.

http://www.amazon.com/Spigen%C2%AE-Magnetic-Holder-Neodymium-iPhone/dp/B0109JIQ0W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1450461047&sr=8-1&keywords=spigen+magnetic+air+vent+mount

u/invalidated_username · 15 pointsr/Nexus6P

This is hands down my favorite low profile case. Has that nice sandstone finish like one of the OnePlus models had. And it's far more durable than Spigen's thin fit. Buttons are exposed so no worries there. Headphone opening is accommodating to most sizes, but not larger plugs. USB-C is a good cutout too. It covers all four sides instead of leaving the top and bottom exposed, like on the thin fit.

u/nolandy · 25 pointsr/Nexus6P

I'm really surprised nobody has said Xiaomi Piston 3. These are extremely good earbuds, and they're only $20. The volume buttons and play/pause button work perfectly. A lot of audiophiles regard these as the best headphones under $100, and they're both earbuds and only $20.

u/Aimwill · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I got the Anker multi-port 60w one and couldn't be happier. My 6P + my bfs iPhone6+ + tablet + 2 battery packs all charging fast at once... Using one outlet? Win. Granted, we don't normally have that much plugged in at once, but it's really nice to keep things together.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01D8C6ULO?vs=1

Edit: it was "Benson approved" when I got it, I assume it still is :-)

u/MisterPhalange · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I use this glass screen protector with the Tauri case and it fits perfectly. Hope you enjoy them :)

u/st8chic · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I was supposed to bring this in with USB A to C cable, but the Type C port is only for input or for charging the powerbank only, not for charging the phone.
http://www.amazon.com/CHOETECH-10400mAH-Portable-Charger-External/dp/B0188DIXX6/
But it's till a good option as a portable one and supports Quick Charge 2.0 devices like old Nexus 6 and charge my Nexus 6P with the AC cable.

u/nebraskapc · 4 pointsr/Nexus6P

I used to use that soft rubberized one made by Google that has the carpety felt material on the back. I liked it a lot, but I wanted something harder because I felt the Google case wasn't going to cut it if I dropped it. I just bought this Verus case a couple weeks ago and absolutely love it.

u/CoolJumper · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

To bad Otterbox doesn't makes cases for Nexus phones. But if bulk and looks (which is subjective) aren't a worry, this seems to be up your alley.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015X9UR2S/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1457219041&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=nexus+6p+supcase+unicorn+beetle&dpPl=1&dpID=51t8C4EcwTL&ref=plSrch

This one also isn't bad, but like you mentioned I'm seeing more about the looks than anything else. I have it and personally I love it, but I can't speak for its ruggedness since I haven't really ever dropped my phone (with spending over $600 I'm incredibly protective of it).

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B016CBFBVI/ref=pd_aw_sbs_107_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=51QdYN2TbEL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL100_SR100%2C100_&refRID=1C673WA6HT6N4TF1EXRT

Here's a 3rd option. More pricy, lacks reviews, but Speck is general a really well received brand for cases and protection.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015XIIM2G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1457220001&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=nexus+6p+speck&dpPl=1&dpID=41WonIEGNkL&ref=plSrch

u/whattachoon · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

This is the one I have and I love it. Super slim with protection still and it never feels slippery in my hands.

u/InadequateUsername · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

this is a nice one, they feel nice in your hand, or at least it did when I was holding someones iphone with the same.

I just got the Spigen Rugged for my phone an so far so good.

u/dlerium · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Not specific for the Nexus 6P but I struggled a lot during my N4 and N5 days with suction mounts, etc and even tried the Air Dock. However one thing about the Air Dock caught my attention and it was the CD player mount.

Since then I've been using the Koomus CD mount for my phone. CDs are seldom used nowadays and the position is better. It's far easier to reach my phone if I need to quickly move the GPS a bit or whatever without having to reach to my dashboard.

With the 6P you just need to make sure it grabs the bottom half of the phone.

u/Blitzsturm · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Side note: One thing you can do is grab a USB Host Adapter and plug it in then plug in any USB keyboard (and/or mouse) including those with their own wireless dongle. Even if you don't use it for a keyboard they are handy to have and I'd recommend all Android users have one for their device since they also work on game pads, external disks, etc...

But assuming you don't happen to have a USB keyboard around where you want to type, Amazon has a ton of exactly what you're talking about... Take a look at what they have available and be sure to read the reviews. The big trade-offs are going to be portability vs typing comfort.

I have a full sized non-folding keyboard build by Motorola but it has some compatibility issues, at the moment I can only get it to work on windows. So be sure people say it works for normal portable devices.

I used the pleson for the same reasons but wanted something even thinner. Very happy with the nillkin.

Speck candyshell grip. It's got a soft rubber interior, a hard plastic exterior and soft rubber ribs on top of that for good grip (in hand or on a table).

u/RingoWasHisNameO · 3 pointsr/Nexus6P

I higle recommend this charger and this c-c cable. I've been enjoying rapid charging on par with the charger in the box.

u/Serri330 · 4 pointsr/Nexus6P

I looked at this case because I wanted a Sandstone texture, but ended up going with this one, because it also covered the top and bottom :)

u/aryaazar78 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

You just need a A to C cable for file transfers to a PC, and a C to C cable for charging. You can use pretty much any C to C cable with good reviews, but you need to make sure the A to C cable is compliant. For chargers, some regular chargers may or may not be able to charge the 6P, but slowly. You should get one that can rapid charge at 5V/3A. Here is what I use.

I've used the Xiaomi Pistons 3, SoundPeats QY7 and Jaybird X2's that I stole from my friend for a few weeks with my 6P. Without sound mods like Viper and such, the Pistons kinda sound lackluster. With or without sound mods, the X2s and the SoundPeats are actually pretty decent.

u/despoticdanks · 5 pointsr/Nexus6P

This is the one I bought. I got really lucky and it was an Amazon Prime Daily Deal yesterday so I only paid $26.99 for it.

This was the other one I was considering. Note this one has a 5V/3A Type C port for both charging the brick and charging your device (switch input/output with the button on the brick). If it hadn't been for the sweet deal on the other one, I would have much more seriously considered this.

Anker is a very reputable brand for portable battery chargers and, from what I've heard, is the go to brand for most Ingress players.

u/MariaKimi · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

iOrange USB type c cables got a good review by Benson. Braided cable is durable.

When I scanned Monoprice USB 2.0 USB-C Male to USB-A Male Cable, it said

> USB 3.1 SuperSpeed+ supports up to 10Gbps data rate

It's not USB 3.1, only USB 2.0.

You can check what cables Benson recommended.

u/ainen · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

The Xiaomi Piston III Earphones are my favorite, cheap earphones. They work really well and are quite small.

u/kinckonc · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Nope, these prices are from 3rd party sellers. Check here instead: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015YCRZ1K/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

They have changed its status from "Out of Stock" to "Usually ships within 1 to 2 months." like a few minutes ago.

u/mariorising · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I've used this case for my Nexus 5x and now my Nexus 6P. I love it and haven't had any issues myself.

u/nicksvr4 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I bought the Anker cable on Amazon. I'm not familiar with the cable you are talking about, but the Anker one is a lot more flexible than the OEM cable. It can charge at 3A, but only transfers at USB 2.0 speeds. The phones port is only 2.0 anyway, so no big deal.

$10 on Amazon.

This one from Koomus has worked great for me for both the Nexus 6 and 6P.

u/ilovemybox · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I use this one and it has been great

u/phenious · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

u/mrwhitewalker · 0 pointsr/Nexus6P

I got this one, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X5RV14Y/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It works amazingly. I have gone through 2 ankers. This one is so good at charging my phone. Capacity is fantastic. Smaller than you would think also

u/33165564 · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I was gifted this one. Supposedly it's identical to the one on the Google store.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XHOGEZG/

The package looked like it would have come from Google, save for a Google logo. It even had a colored bar along to lower edge that was very Google-esque.

u/patkriges · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

I have the Verus high pro shield. Can be found on amazon for like $13. Very minimal and has a beautiful design. I absolutely love how it looks. You can pick the color of the plastic around the sides as well. People have complained about the charging port being too small, but this issue has been fixed according to customer reviews and I can confirm that I have no issues with any of my three different cables.

Edit: http://www.amazon.com/Nexus-Verus-Shield-Steel-Silver/dp/B015GHQGM2

u/rustid · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

Both of these have worked well for me, my suspension in my car might also be a little softer if you are having issues though. The ball one I used when it was on my dash so the phone didn't rotate but mostly rested, while the cd one holds it just fine floating.

I had some junk stuck in my headphone port and used a paperclip to try to clean it out, and I think I ended up shorting the headphone jack, since it now doesn't work at all (though my headphones still fit in snugly). Shortly before this happened, I bought a USB-C to USB-A adapter and a small USB sound card for a project. I've been using that as a headphone jack since then. It's far from the most elegant solution, but it works and I already had it at the time.

This setup has recently become somewhat touchy, causing my music to pause if I bump it while it's hooked up to my car's stereo. I haven't yet been bothered enough to figure out which component is the weak link, though.

u/socalchris · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

To add on to that, not every C to C cable will support the rapid charging. The cable I bought from Monoprice won't, I just purchaseda new one from Amazon that is supposed to though.

The USB C cable situation is an absolute mess.

u/rgr1988 · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I have the Spigen rugged armor and Spigen thin fit. Really nice ones but nothing as thin as this Nilkin http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B018JYIRY4. Not the best protection, though.

u/Sunsparc · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

There's a newer version now that fixes, in my opinion, some aesthetic issues.

u/sLiimFit · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Some front screen protectors have the rear glass protector in the package too. I had it came with Nillkin but never used it anyway.

Also, note that there are not multiple USB-C charging standards. There's just one, but some A->C cables don't implement the standard properly.

u/chrysilis · 2 pointsr/Nexus6P

Which case is that?

[EDIT] It's the Verus High Pro Shield Case [/EDIT]

I just ordered a Verus and a Supcase. I'll let you know which I prefer once I get them, though I think I will prefer the Supcase.

I have two questions, I can't seem to find any information, is a new Nexus phone going to be released this year? If so should I just wait to purchase a 6P then? Next question, I have Verizon and I'd rather not have their software on my phone, I'm assuming that the version I linked below should work with them?

On their Amazon storefront, Choetech writes:

Quick Charge Compatible Devices

  • Spark Drone
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 Edge / S6 / S6 Edge / Note 5 / Note 4 / Edge
  • LG V20, LG G5, LG G4, LG G Flex2, LG V10

  • Google Nexus 6P

This description is written by Choetech, not Amazon. It is both false and misleading. The Nexus 6P does not support Qualcomm's proprietary Quick Charge. This battery pack will not cause "Charging Rapidly" to be displayed on the 6P. It will charge the 6P at only half speed. And their products are crap.

Spigen Magnetic Mount. It's $7 and it holds the phone really well.

Used to use ProClips with my previous 2 phones, but there's no charging holder to use the 6P with a case.
