The pin can be used in disassembling the rifle. Wad up a cloth or something and you can use it to pop the trigger mechanism out, and you can use it as a lever as necessary too (but be careful and don't scrape up the finish with it). My friend had the same problem so I bought him this pad for his birthday among some other odds and ends. He says it fits perfectly and adds just enough space to make it comfortable to fire.

The pad the other guy's talking about sounds cooler, so I'd grab that if you can find it. This one doesn't have a star on it but it's affordable and it works.

Doesn't really matter much. I use Breakfree CLP for pretty much everything. Does cleaning, lubing, and protecting well enough for me. Get a .30 cal bore snake and some old Tshirts to cut up or something and that'll be fine.

I keep mine in a gun sock in my safe. One of these: https://www.amazon.com/Allen-13160-Sock-Knit-52-Inch/dp/B0035LTXUO I've heard that the silicone can do bad things to some finishes, but I don't have any personal experience with that. I'm sure someone else here will correct me on that though.
