Good on you for jumping into it! First of all you definitely want to thin down your paints. Here is a good video on how to do so by the best 40k painter in the world. Secondly, if you are having trouble with some of the straight line bits like on the chest, neck, and leg pads of the commander, painters tape can help you practice and keep things straight. It's not the most reliable tool so I wouldn't use it as a crutch but it will help as you get more experience. Tamiya masking tape is decent and used a lot in the model painting community. Lastly, I'm not sure what size brush you're using but it could be that getting a smaller one will help. Keeping a medium brush around is good for painting large sections but I'd recommend picking up something like an artificer brush and painting with just the very tip of it to work on smaller detailed sections.

IDK if Citadel makes one specifically, I'm sure they do, but like a lot of their products, you're often better off getting a different brand that's just as good quality (and frequently better) as well as being cheaper.

You don't have to use a lot, just enough to get an even coat over the whole miniature. Be sure to spray this outside or in a well-ventilated area. Also, don't forget that when you're done coating your models, to hold the spray can upside down and spray the excess for a couple seconds until it's just spraying the medium -- that way it clears out the spray mechanism. If you don't, it'll be clogged up next time you go to use it. This is true for all kinds of spray cans, including primers -- it's a common rookie mistake, so just mentioning it in case you haven't worked with this stuff yet.

I purchased this guy for $64.82. It was an Open Box unit on the Amazon Warehouse Deals. Literally, still shrink wrapped, just in a different box. No damage. Usually a $200-250 air compressor. I was given my first airbrush (my daily driver) as payment during a commission. It is a Badger Patriot 105. I was intimidated by it for over a year and then I decided to jump head first one day and honestly, I haven't looked back. Only regret was not starting sooner. Amazon has the Badger Patriot 105 on sale for $75. At the beginning of the year Badger Airbrush company ran a Happy 54th Birthday Sale and I picked up the Badger Renegade Krome for $54 haha. It retails for $200-250 but Amazon has it on sale for $102. I have yet to use this guy yet, but I am nearing the end of a project and I am going to give it a whirl in a couple weekends. With that being said, you can find deals ALL OVER THE INTERNET....you just have to look for them. I am always scowering the web for the best deals possible haha. For the past 3 years I have been using a 5hp construction grade pancake compressor with a moisture trap. Let me tell you....I REGRET not upgrading to an airbrush compressor much sooner. The air is more consistent, you can fine tune the correct PSI and it is exponentially more quiet. I personally don't care about the tank feature, but that is a personal preference.

I use craft organizers. You can usually find something like this at hobby stores. Otherwise, tackle boxes are fantastic for...well...everything. I've built multiple first-aid kits out of tackle boxes.

I use 1/8" magnets for my Crisis Suit weapons. They are basically the maximum size that will fit in the weapons. You could probably go a bit smaller and use 3/32" magnets and have some more wiggle room.
