Unrelated to topic but just as an FYI. I have been very happy with these knock off Pro controllers. Won't help with the lack of screen I don't think but might be more effective than a dualshock
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00SN1QEGW/
I dont think that one is real.
A real samsung will say samsung at the top. Not "S S G" and it would not be that cheap.
To be exact on the one im using is this
Its a 200GB. I know I said 256 but its out of habit rounding that number up. There are 256 SD cards [that work] (http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Extreme-256GB-Memory-SDSDXPA-256G-G46/dp/B00NP63XGE/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1462284227&sr=1-4&keywords=256+sd+card)
Can also confirm that this one works.
I got the 128 for my Note 4 and used it with my Wii U until I got that 200GB
Yes I am using a micro SD card adapter. :)
As long as the charger isn't plugged directly into the wall (you do use a power strip, right?), a wall wart style USB plug will be fine, just make sure it's rated for 2.0A~. If you have multiple things that require USB power near your Wii U, it might be helpful to buy a charger like this, which is what I use.
HeyGuys,
me and a friend had a discussion if it's viable to install games on a USB Flash Drive example instead of a external HDD with an extra power supply.
Also: would "passive" external 2.5" example Hard Drive without extra power supply work?
This good? https://www.amazon.com/WD-WDBU6Y0020BBK-EESN-Elements-Esterno-Portatile/dp/B00D0L5BH8/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1478997968&sr=1-2&keywords=hdd&th=1
Powered via USB 3.0, that's why I was asking.
Would something like this work then? Just plug and format and install through Wup installer?
https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Cruzer-Glide-Drive-SDCZ60-128G-B35/dp/B007YX9OGW/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1520801253&sr=8-8&keywords=usb+128gb
You just have to format it manually. I explained it here about a month ago:
https://www.reddit.com/r/WiiHacks/comments/4b7ty9/ive_been_told_my_64gb_sd_card_wont_work_with_a/d1qu1z2
>Basically... 32GB SD cards are never classified as SDXC, and anything above 32GB (IE SDXC) wants to be formatted as not FAT32. Since the Wii requires FAT32, they technically don't support SDXC in the sense you can't format a larger card (64, 128, etc) to FAT32 without doing it manually, so the official line is they aren't compatible even though they technically are. Same exact rule and logic applies to the 3DS, although most people find 32GB to be plenty of space on the 3DS.
>Here's the exact card I'm using in my Wii U for homebrew:
http://www.amazon.com/Silicon-Power-MicroSDXC-Class10-SP128GBSTXBU1V20SP/dp/B00T9QONOU?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
>$35, I have it 2/3 full and have no problem with Gamecube or Wii games launching off of it so long as you format it correctly w/ 3rd party software.
The brand/type of card may effect compatibility but a little internet consultation will help you find one that works (like the one I linked to).
On my Wii I've been able to run this drive without a y-cable or external power off the 0 port, do you have any idea if a similar setup with the same, or maybe similar drive, might work the same on the Wii U's vWii?
I feel like the Wii U must at least have the Wii's USB standards at a minimum for Wii games to be compatible.
I suppose this might be a case of "won't know until you try it".
I ended up buying this one.
It works ok, but I still feel that the load times are a bit longer that they should (on Pokken I notice that the load between battles is around 10~20 seconds, in LoZ Twilight Princess HD I notice the same), but it might be normal since the hack in running on memory (and thus occupying part of it). I really hope that we have the IOSU hack released soon.
Try finding one that doesn't have a Y cable. I have one with an external power cable and it works fine.
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GAML7OK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Does it matter which external drive you use. I have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Cloud-Personal-Network-Attached-Storage/dp/B00EVVGAFI
and one of these both unopened: https://www.amazon.com/Book-Desktop-External-Drive-WDBFJK0030HBK-NESN/dp/B00E3RH63A
Are these overkill? Need the Y cable for either?
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FGNM6I/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687602&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B003AM8A1G&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0JE9A4MWBH7H2QPB719A
Apparently not very hard.
I need a Y cable apparently to make my HDD drive work. This is my drive, would this cable allow my HDD to work?
I'm using a Sony SDHC Class 10 UH-1 and haven't had any issues so far. laank
Get notebook.
Sorry I meant with additional hardware support... ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BS520SG/ref=twister_B06WRWP7PL?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 )
Here's what I use and I don't think it's that expensive:
PDP Wired Fight Pad for Wii U - Link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PAB3P6A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_CuxIwbR29ZKB0
I recently hacked my girlfriend's Wii U 32gb, and got everything to work. I installed a few games and they worked just fine. I installed a few more games and now I get the 160-2713 error code. I found a picture describing the message, since I can't take pictures of my Wii U. The only difference is mine says 99.99.99 U:
Error Message
I'm using this cable
I've used this cable for 2 other Wii U's, with no issues.
Since it works for a bit, wouldn't that mean the cable and HDD are getting enough power?
I got the HDD from a friend. It was a 2.5 inch Samsung External hdd. I removed the enclosure and formatted the drive after moving everything from it.
I'm leaning towards it being the HDD dying, and if so, then I have another HDD I can use, which is a Seagate.
Would there be any other reasons this might happen?
I followed the guide, formatted my 64GB SD card as FAT32 using guiformat.exe, and put all the files on that SD card.
However, upon using the browser exploit, the text "SD mount failed. Please insert a FAT32 formatted sd card." comes up instead of the homebrew launcher.
The SD card I used is a SanDisk Extreme SDXC 64GB, and my Wii U was bought at launch - the black 32GB version.
Am I doing something wrong?
