Necessary is eye protection, gun, batteries, magazines, and bbs. I'd recommend lower face protection, ear protection, and boots as well.

I'd take the ICS over the Krytac. It is, in my opinion, a nicer gun.

It has a small stock, so you'll have to fit the battery down the buffer tube. This 7.4v 1300mah 25C lipo should work. This 7.4v 1200Mah 25C might work as well. I use these 7.4v 1200mah 20C in my VFC Avalon's buffer tube and they fit with plenty of room to spare. For a charger, you can go high-end and get an Imax B6AC if you can afford it, which I'd recommend, or get the cheaper, more basic charger

For bbs, BLS .28s or, if you need biodegradable, .30 bio, are great.

I'm not too sure what mags work well in ICS, as I've never owned one, but here are some generally good mags: Evike BAMF, Ares Ameoba, PTS EPM, VFC QRS, G&P High RPS, Hex Mag, and Lonex Flash mags. For mid caps, you'll also need a speedloader. Something cheap, something a bit bigger, or something real nice.

For gear, take a look into Condor stuff. It's just good and cheap. I'd also recommend a MODI JPC if you like the style.

For eye pro, Pyramex I-force are great and cheap. Save Phace Grunts are pretty good as well. You could also get ESS NVGs or Revision Desert Locusts pretty cheap on Ebay or surplus stores.

For lower face pro, the One Tigris mask is pretty great.

Amazon isn't where I'd usually go for a vest, but there are some decent options. Condor isn't a fantastic brand (not great quality and durability), but they have some good options for a budget on Amazon. I think the Condor Rapid Assault chest rig is fairly popular and it has some pouches built in. The Condor Recon chest rig has more pouches built in.

People often don't get gear with pouches built in, because it gives you more space to put on and switch out whatever pouches you need at the moment. This is a little more expensive to get started with because you have to purchase the pouches separately, but it gives you more options in the future. This Condor chest rig is more like that, though if you really want a lot of space for pouches you should look into a plate carrier, which is bigger than a chest rig.

But for getting started, you probably don't need that many pouches. Do you have an M4? If you do, I'd suggest the Rapid Assault rig. It has M4 pouches built in which you can use but also has a decent amount of MOLLE space for adding your own pouches. It's a good balance.

Keep doing research, search for other threads like this on /r/airsoft. There might be some better quality options that I don't know about. Buying used is another option, it's harder but you might get a really good deal. Let me know if you have any other questions!

EDIT: /u/zxj4k3xz is correct in pointing out that you probably don't need one. If you're just using a rifle with a high-cap magazine (probably came with it) you won't have much use for a vest/etc. But when you buy mid-cap magazines, and if you use your pistol enough that you want to have it with you as well as your rifle, a chest rig is a good way to carry it (the pistol probably fits in a mag pouch fairly well) for much cheaper than a good holster (the cheap fabric ones are godawful, don't use them).

u/MrLoLMan · -2 pointsr/airsoft

Can't speak for those but have you tried valken zulus. It's about $15 more than the ones you posted but they're great for the price. Comfortable, anti-fog coating is pretty good, withstands BB's pretty well.

u/AllergicOrchid4 · 1 pointr/airsoft

This is a pretty ideal beginner loadout. It'll also be good so you don't blow everything on the sport to find out you don't want to completely get into it. I'd say get this, maybe a cheap plate carrier and some pouches and roll with that for a bit, then alter your kit to how you want it to be.

Cheers man! Glad to see another in the sport

I like this little rig a lot, it's not too bad and it's decently constructed. Condor makes pretty good stuff for low price. Condor Recon Chest Rig (Tan) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085Y4JF0/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_xLNmub13DEPN4

Also don't forget eye pro! What style do you like, mask or goggles?

u/machevara · 1 pointr/airsoft

I already have a rig, this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085Y4JF0/ref=twister_B07G7F8D7F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I have a few weapon attachments, as I was gonna buy an m27 from my friend but decided not to. I am missing safety gear (Googles, face protection) as well as proper clothing and footwear. So i got a few other investments to make.
And as far as budget 400 for rifle, pistol 100-ish(cheaper the better ), googles 100-200 unless I can find something better.

u/comradequiche · 1 pointr/airsoft

May not be a popular opinion, but out of all the red dots I’ve owned I still love the $18 one from amazon for the price.

Recently just picked up a Dagger Defense DDHB and really like it as well. It was $40 but really nothing more but a bulked up version of the $18 one!

Though I always protect my lenses with POLYCARBONATE (not acrylic) I worry less with a cheaper optic. (I always babied my Pilad 1x42 red dot though it wasn’t even that expensive)

u/snakebitey · 2 pointsr/airsoft

It's worth learning about it, still certainly stop you getting ripped off etc by the retailers.

Measure the gun's battery compartment to make sure the 21mm wide cells will fit, and you should be good.

You might be able to fit in a stick-type one like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Venom-1200mAh-Battery-Airsoft-Tamiya/dp/B008XQDA0K/

Slightly higher capacity and 30C rather than 20C! Just look for the dimensions and measure it up against the gun...

As for a charger, the Imax B6 comes highly recommended on here, though you can use something more basic such as this:

https://www.amazon.com/Hobbypower-Battery-Balancer-Charger-110v-240v/dp/B00EE4AXIW/

u/Scrub-papa · 5 pointsr/airsoft

I’ve seen gaps in goggles all the time becuase the goggles don’t fit the head very well. I don’t thinks it’s good especially since a bbs almost hit your eye. I’ve never seen any gaps in a Dye mask or revision goggles. There is probably more but this is in my experience.

Also the dye mask is the best thing I’ve ever bought in airsoft lol

Have you had a look at the Bolle X800 or Bolle X810 goggles? They're ballistic rated goggles with the lens as a separate piece from the frame, allowing for great ventilation and they're pretty much impossible to fog. I'm the sort of person that fogs any and every kind of eye protection even with antifog and I've yet to fog my X810's! I'd highly recommend them! It's as close to a permanent solution as you can get.

When it comes to eyepro, I would definitely not take any chances. Get yourself something that's proven to be safe. I personally use these and would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. I trust my eyes with them 100%.

u/Just-Buy-A-Home · 1 pointr/airsoft

Depends on your kind of play. Do you want to go fast or more like realistic milsim? Is it an indoor or outdoor? I’ve heard people recommend these goggles: https://www.amazon.com/Pyramex-I-Force-Strap-Temples-Anti-Fog-SB7030SDT/dp/B006WPSF72?th=1&psc=1 and you should get some sort of mouth protector (probably something mostly solid plastic). If you are indoor, you will probably want a smaller gun with less FPS (most indoor arenas have a limit on FPS). For your gun and gear needs, I recommend checking out evike.com for the best gear, but unfortunately it will take a bit to ship to you. If you could, find out what kind of play you want, find out the kind of field, and (maybe) find out what your field FPS limit is (or which field you plan to go to with your bf) and I can find a couple of beginner gun selections for you! Happy to help!

u/callmespanker · 10 pointsr/airsoft

Like others have pointed out, you're spending a lot of money. Hey, that's not necessarily a bad thing considering we know nothing about your budget.

Some tips for your selections:

  • If you are willing to drop $100 on that mask you might as well go for a Dye Precision i4 mask. This is the last eye/face protection option you will ever need, for only $30 more than you're already spending.

  • Those gloves seem a bit expensive considering I have never heard of the model, and to be honest they look a little cheap. These Mechanix gloves run about half of what you're budgeting and are highly recommended, probably the best price/quality ratio on the market. Don't take my word, take the 635 reviews on Amazon's word.

  • Boots are totally up to you, but if it's your first time airsofting you don't necessarily need to drop over $100. Running or any athletic shoes would honestly be fine for your first time.

  • Same idea applies to the pants and shirt. If you really want them, don't let anyone here stop you, but jeans and a shirt would do you just fine.

As for a vest, given the stuff you've already picked out, the obvious choice would be a Condor MOPC in black. Plate carriers are generally highly modular, so with some additional MOLLE pouches you can set up your rig however you want.

    Edit: model, not brand
u/dabluebunny · 1 pointr/airsoft

The ones I use are discontinued, but 2 of my friends use these they are simular to mine lense wise.

u/OwangeSquid · 2 pointsr/airsoft

I have fucking massive frames and they fit over mine. Decently comfortable as well. Here they are. They also make rx inserts for them which is what I am switching to next month instead of wearing my glasses underneath. If you don't want to do these just get a dye i4 as they work really well with glasses.

u/names_are_for_losers · 1 pointr/airsoft

Yeah there are a few good options for eyepro in the $15-20 area, anything Pyramex with the right ratings or these too. Cheap doesn't necessarily = bad even if there are nicer goggles out there.

u/pyrohectic · 1 pointr/airsoft

https://www.amazon.com/Guard-Dogs-Goggles-Evader-Matte-FogStopper/dp/B011LTAV7K

you should consider these. Never cheap out on eye protection. you and I both have glasses so I know how hard it is to play with fog, but trust me. Even other goggles with good ventilation and fans or a combination of both are a really good investment. Also, most fields have a ban on mesh eye protection so The mask limits your choice of fields.

u/NATOMarksman · 1 pointr/airsoft

http://www.amazon.com/UTG-Integral-Picatinny-Mounting-SCP-RD40RGW-/dp/B005UGIPUQ/

I would go with a closed-tube sight because the glass is more protected from BBs and the electronics are better protected in general. It won't look as cool as the open sights, but it'll also be easier to see in daylight since the red dot is partially shielded from washout by the tube.

u/artist508 · 1 pointr/airsoft

Get the Save Phace Grunts. They are a copy of the X800, but actually made in the USA and meet safety standards. The X800s are nice but 4x the cost of the grunts.

u/b00kem_dan0 · 3 pointsr/airsoft

Valken Zulu Tactical Goggles are pretty good. Not round lenses like the photo, but I enjoy mine with my lightweight set up

u/Tomasfoolery · 2 pointsr/airsoft

I am using amazon only due to ease of linking, please do not think I am suggesting you use them.

The battery I purchased: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001DVVECS

The smart charger: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AVUAVC

Other people will probably point you in a better direction to buy, but if you want to use amazon, go ahead.

u/Altair1371 · 1 pointr/airsoft

Condor Recon Rig. It just fits me at ~32" and the mag pouches are sewn in, but it's great for the price.

u/LiveAtThFillmoreEast · 2 pointsr/airsoft

No offense, but if a BB shatters on the mesh I think it'd go straight through your glasses. Things like the PYRAMEX I FORCES (WITH THE STRAP) are safe alternatives.

Also, ANSI Z87.1 isn't enough, you want AT LEAST ANSI Z87.1+ (yes, the plus makes a difference). There's some debate on whether even that's acceptable, but both the goggles I listed WAY exceed that.

Remember, it really doesn't matter what you look like if you lose an eye. For 15 USD you can completely avoid it, why even take this risk? If you don't like the I Forces I can link you others in different styles.

u/onlinebuilt · 1 pointr/airsoft

Before I got contacts I used Guard-Dogs goggles Evader 2 they fit perfect on my big glasses.

u/yellowdien · 1 pointr/airsoft

Ok because I need some new low profile protection and I really liked the I force, but I want the "glasses" one and not the strap version. Using this outdoor so a bit of darkness would be perfect. Is the grey the same as [indoor/outdoor] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006WPSF72/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?th=1) but instead of a strap?

u/Guthix70 · 1 pointr/airsoft

These are probably outside of your pricerange, considering the cost of the gun, but they're the best full facemask that you can buy.

u/BQJJ · 1 pointr/airsoft

I'm on mobile/at work but it sounds like we play in similar terrain on a similar budget, so I'll share what I've got once I get home.

u/Eckhart · 1 pointr/airsoft

You might want to try a different antifog treatment. I've heard a lot of good things about Cat Crap. I think your best course of action is to fight the fog rather than unnecessarily downgrading in eye protection.

u/mjch317 · 2 pointsr/airsoft

SPR, CRB, or PDW? If it’s the SPR, I’d go with a shortdot. Shortdots look great on the SPR, and there’s plenty of them on Amazon.

u/Minizman12 · 1 pointr/airsoft

I have almost a full squad using them and they hardly ever fog with the top foam removed. If you are at all worried about fog I suggest getting this: http://www.wide-i.com/delta.php

The other option is to get a goggle like this: https://www.amazon.com/Bolle-Safety-X800i-Tactical-Goggles/dp/B003ICKCJQ

Which has a lens slightly lifted off the frame which allows a ton of airflow. One guy on my squad uses these and says they're fantastic.

Here’s one with good reviews for 40. Just remember that you want to wear it a little higher than I see most people wear it. Watch a few YouTube videos on reload techniques from Garandthumb or Haley or WarriorPoet and see how they wear their armour or rigs. It’s for efficiency in reloads, but if you’re just after the look, it’s still worth getting right.

u/SysShtDwn · 3 pointsr/airsoft

Wow, for the much just keep en eye out for a used Dye I4 mask or just get it new. All masks or even just goggles will affect aiming down sights and most will require a riser for the sight to see properly.

u/tehspiah · 1 pointr/airsoft

I like Venom lipo batteries. The 30C discharge makes it really good for higher end motors, and usually won't crap out on you with sustained full auto fire.

u/Ferrard · 3 pointsr/airsoft

Your budget is really low for a light worth having. To summarize your requirements for this flashlight:

  1. Reliability

  2. Acceptable illumination

  3. Pistol fit

  4. Pressure switch

  5. Sub-$100

Very few clones have both #1 and #2 together. Very few flashlights period have both #3 and #4 together. The best way to get desired options #1-4 is to get a firearms grade pistol lamp and not a clone. However, I wouldn't expect to find a pistol lamp that has all that functionality while still being within spitting distance of #5.

If we ditch requirement #5, then we can put this together:

u/AudioHazard · 3 pointsr/airsoft

This is what I use, and I wear glasses. They're kinda small glasses, and they're not my usual glasses that I use on a regular basis.

I recommend getting Cat Crap to prevent fogging, and removing the foam on the top of the goggles.

u/Bill_Yang · 2 pointsr/airsoft

And what else do I need for the gun? I already have:

  • a green/red dot scope this one

  • this half mask

  • Lancer Tactical goggles. ok I know they aren't that great but I'll be wearing them over my large-framed glasses so I hope I will be fine.

  • these gloves

  • 0.25g EF bio bbs

  • smart charger and 7.4v 1k mAh LiPo battery

Should I get into the gun and mess with some internals (stuff like shimming and radiusing the gearbox) or should I hold off for now?

CatCrap

Rub it on the inside of the goggles, let dry for 1 minute, then buff off with a microfiber. I use it all year round in Texas so heat and sweat build up in there usually. I have never fogged once I started using it on the inside lens only.

And a tip, if water is beading (But not fogging), it's better to just leave it because in my experience it's less likely to fog when it's beading up.
