Nail polish can be hard since everyone has different preferences, but you could always get a fun topcoat she could add to her collection (something with different colored flecks, glitter, holo, etc). Or you could get her a display for the nail polish she has?

You can also go to a drug store and just pick a color that reminds you of her! I personally like Sallie Hansen Insta Dri because I don’t have the patience for my nails to dry, but Essie, OPI, and China Glaze are all slightly nicer brands.

But I think no matter what you decide to get her, she’ll be excited about it! It’s very sweet that you’ve noticed something she enjoys and want to show your affection by supporting it 😊

I have this topcoat and think it’s pretty fun:

Not sure if this would work with your budget, but there’s this shelf:

Best of luck! It’ll be great!

I'm in the same boat, I've been slowly giving away my nicer stuff and trashing the crap. Here is what I currently use on a regular basis (and it all fits in a small makeup bag):

Chanel Double Perfection foundation. It's a pressed powder and it is AMAZING. I'm acne prone and have quite a bit of scarring and just a light application of this stuff hides it all. I've been using it for about 12 years now, have yet to find anything better. I don't use a concealer because this foundation gets it all. It's a bit pricey but I use it pretty much every single day and one compact lasts me for 6 months.

NARS blush in Angelika. I tried so many cheap drug store blushes and none of them worked, I own several NARS blushes and they are all amazing. Totally worth the price.

Physicians Formula Eyeliner. I can make some amazing cat eyes with this product. It's also fairly waterproof, I've gone swimming with it on and it didn't run. I also own a Stila liner which was more than double the price of this Physicians Formula one and I don't like it nearly as much.

Laura Mercier Brow Pencil

Maybelline Volum' Express The Falsies

My lip products vary, I'm liking the REVLON Colorburst Lip Butters. I also LOVE NARS lipsticks, I actually own that color (I know it looks awful in the picture but it's quite pretty). The formula is creamy but it stays put and isn't drying. And I don't wear glosses often but when I do I use either Chanel glosses or Smashbox glosses from this set. Neither brand are too sticky which I can't stand.

I haven't worn eye shadow in ages, and when I do it's from a few Sephora brand palettes so that isn't going to help you much. I like MUFE eye shadows though. Great pigmentation.

My brushes, bronzer, and luminizing powder are all Sephora brand so I didn't bother mentioning them either. I don't use primers much but when I do I use Smashbox Photo Finish Light.

Also I'm pale/cool with dark brown hair, blue eyes, and I'm oily and acne prone, if that helps.

What you want is pure, unadulterated food grade mineral oil. Some people like to use baby oil, but it contains fragrance and tocopherol (vitamin e), both of which can be irritating to the skin. The mineral oil you find in the laxatives section of your pharmacy also have tocopherol.

I bought this stuff and it works great. Love it. Works great as a makeup remover.

Come join us over at /r/skincareaddiction if you are interested in learning more. :) I posted a good article about the benefits of using mineral oil for skincare earlier this morning.

I'm Italian with Russian mixed in so in the winter I have the same problem as my hair is dark but my skin is paler. I invested in my own waxing kit and I buy wax specified for sensitive skin. Try asking a salon or ordering yourself the wax that you use on bikini areas. Its a LOT more soothing. I use more of a honey based wax myself, which seems to work alright
This is the wax kit I have http://www.amazon.com/GiGi-Mini-Pro-Waxing-Kit/dp/B000BJ1CGQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1370873321&sr=8-2&keywords=gi+gi+mini+wax+kit And you can choose other waxes. Most Sally's Beauty Supply stores have all the compatible waxes and you can easily find muslin strip and stick refills. This has saved me so much money since I, like you, am a hairy hairy lady. Good luck!

With Zoom whitening, you can get "zinging" that can last for a few days. My dentist suggested Advil as needed. I don't have any long term negatives, my current dental issues (dry mouth) are a common side effect of seizure meds and I've been on those for a few years. Had my last Zoom at 24-26? and I'm 34 now and still get compliments. No cavities since my early 20's. I did have the old school bleaching kit from my dentist at 18. I got the Zoom done because I'd be a bridesmaid that year and lost the old bleaching kit. With Zoom you get that kit too, but I lost it too.

I am really particular about all my dental hygiene needs. I LOVE the coco floss and my toothpaste of choice is BreathRx and their mouthwash 50/50 with Biotene per my dentist's suggestion for the dry mouth. I found the toothpaste when I was working as a massage therapist many of my high-end clients had it, it isn't even all that expensive it just works better. People will think that your teeth are better when you are confident about your breath.

I’ve been using this for YEARS! I absolutely love it. I have super light blonde eyebrows and this is the perfect shade for me. I only have to leave on for a few minutes.

I've used this wax for years and is effective with hair at an appropriate length. So much easier than the strips and available at like a Sally's too.

Ginger isn't going to replace tea's awesome varied flavor palette! This is my solution anyway

I put Radha Beauty Rosehip Oil ($14.95) on any stretchmarks or scars -- basically slathering most of my torso with the oil. It doesn't smell at all and absorbs into my skin all night under a loose cotton nightgown. I haven't gotten it on my sheets yet, so not sure if it will stain linens.

I also use Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Skin Therapy Lotion for Dry Skin ($7.74) on my forearms, elbows (I have a patch of psoriasis on my left elbow and this is the first lotion that has felt like it's actually helping) and on my feet. (After every shower I use Queen Helene Cocoa Butter [$4.19] as well, btw.)

I sometimes get dry feet and even painful cracks on my heels and have had really good results with Burt's Bees foot cream with socks overnight paired with using a pumice stone gently in the shower most mornings.

Also, make sure you are drinking enough water during the day! It's way more common than you'd think for folks to be dehydrated.

Is your skin naturally oily, do you tend to be dry, or are you a combination of the two? What'll work best for you depends on your skin.

I've had a lot of success with this toner recipe. Salicylic acid can be a little difficult to find, but it was worth it. I have problems with milia around my eyes and it's the only thing that prevents them.

You might want to go in for a facial, or see a dermatologist. A qualified person can extract the ones you do have, show you how to do it, and would probably have recommendations based on your skintype.

Also - extractors like this are much much much better for your skin than pore strips. Those can further damage your skin, making more breakouts likely.

The Olay Microdermabrasion is fantastic and very affordable. I have started using it recently, and it works very well. I've used many exfoliators over the years, and this works better than anything else. I found it made my pores smaller and I feel like it got out more dead skin than anything else. Even made a zit smaller.

Find it here: https://www.amazon.com/Olay-Regenerist-Microdermabrasion-System-Treatment/dp/B000F63TW0

And try the Ordinary's Lactic Acid serum (after cleansing before moisturizing). This is an exfoliating serum. Add a bit to moisturizer for easy application.

Rosebud lipbalm in the tube. The best stuff for the softest lips.

Palladio rice paper oil blotting sheets.

Rose water face mist. I've been obsessed with the brand Herbivore

Strengthening base coat. I personally use this one, by Nailtek, but there are others that you can grab at any drugstore, like OPI Nail Envy.

Anything like this one, I got my at target. Immediately after posting this, my husband actually commented on how soft my skin felt.

I soak my feet in warm water (usually plug the drain for the first half of my shower) and then use exfoliating gloves with my regular body wash to scrub my feet to get rid of dry, dead skin. After my shower I put on some hydrating cream (really rub it in, don't let it just sit on top) and put on some socks.

Bonus, I also use the gloves to exfoliate my legs before shaving. Smoothest shave ever!

I use the Aveeno sunscreen formulated for the face specifically. Never had a breakout or clogged pores from it.

u/thisismyjam · 5 pointsr/beauty

this stuff works wonders for me. i just use it after shaving and it stops all bumps
