I went with an astro mixamp and paired it with a Sennheiser 558hd headset. It came out to about $150 during a sale. If you can afford it, it's best to get an excellent stereo headset and pair it with an amp to give you virtual surround. I ended up getting a sennheiser game one headset later to have a built in mic. This headset is very comfortable and is open back. If you prefer closed back, there is the game zero.
If your budget is firm and you can deal with wireless, the sony gold and platinum headsets are actually pretty good. The difference being the golds have 40mm drivers and the Platinum has 50mm drivers plus 3d sound capability.

Regarding your Apple earbuds, Apple cables are not standard and are not guaranteed to work.
Since you play on PS4 you can use one of these plugged into your controller.
http://www.amazon.com/Generic-23-3-5mm-Jack-Splitter/dp/B001E3ZM8M
Plug the headphones in one side and the mic in the other.
For microphones, any 3.5mm mic will work. I use one of these because the mic attaches to the headphones.

But you can use any mic that has a 3.5mm jack. The zalman clip on mic is pretty common.
This will get you pretty good audio, however if you want to step it up a notch you can buy an astro mixamp.
http://www.astrogaming.com/mixamp-tr/MixAmp-TR.html#start=1
That one works for PS4, PC, and is very popular. You would then plug your headphones and mic into the mixamp and not use the adapter linked at the top. This will also add in virtualized surround sound which is really good.
I've heard the Logitech G930 is pretty good. It's a bit more than your $60 budget though, and I would definitely read the reviews about it (I've heard it has an issue with disconnecting sometimes). There's a wired version (The G35) that might be less prone to those issues.
I personally use the Wireless Gold from Sony though, haven't had much issue with it.
Wooo....At that budget, you could afford this-
ASUS ROG 27" 144hz, 1440p, G-sync monitor. $775 and is arguably one of the best gaming monitors you can get, if your hardware can power 1440p. I have no idea how all that works in the case of a console. Might be able to skip the G-sync, which makes that monitor expensive, and just go for the best 144hz monitor you can find.

Maybe Candy Land is more your speed?
I'm kidding! I just started playing yesterday and noticed you just have to level up and unlock the gear the higher level ups have. Like aiming faster, immune to UAV, sixth sense, etc... Above all, work on your aim and be tactical.
I just bought 2 sticks of that type of RAM for $31 dollars. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002N52ZO4/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Good luck! I have this same setup.
/edit: you may want to upgrade your power supply if the card can't get enough juice at high demand. Just a thought.
SteelSeries USB Sound Card. I do have a steelseries headset as well though, so not sure if there is better options for you. http://www.amazon.com/SteelSeries-Siberia-Sound-Card-Black/dp/B000WJ9K4G/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453495316&sr=8-1&keywords=steelseries+usb+sound+card
SSHD - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EIQTKAS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Get the 2TB for speed, or 4TB if you just want a large drive. The 4TB is actually a good deal slower than the 2TB (still faster than the internal, but I bought the hard drive for faster access times AND larger storage. The 2TB is the balance of both)

I bought these and they work just fine.
I upgraded from 8GB to 16GB ram back in January for BO3. It fixed a lot of the freezes and crashes. The RAM usage is just badly optimized for BO3. I got the Crucial Ballistix Sport for around 70 euros. Also try turning on Vsync and cap FPS to 60. If I don't have these options enabled even with a GTX 1080 the fps stutters up and down like a yoyo.
Then people will just buy this. People will always look for a way to game the system.

almost the same one i've had for 5 years - same brand, but mine is 24 inch. Pro gamers tend to use 24, and I don't think it costs too much more. Mine is still going strong and absolutely perfect for the price - 0 dead pixels, no problems and I move it around a lot. I have no idea what the £350 monitors offer that this doesn't but I doubt it's even close to worth the difference

I soundwhore just fine with this, thank you very much.
That is, unless they're using Reaper. A particular specialist having way lower footstep volume than everyone else is hardly "something that is built into the game", since there's no way it's intentional. Regardless, you still need to spend 3 points in order to make full use of sound regardless of how expensive your headphones are, so the "free perk" thing is nonsense.
ive had multiple expencive headsets but nothing comes close to beating this

A new router seems to be the way to go. By default my router had uPnP on and it still caused a problem. It sucks that its 2016 and companies can't get uPnP correct. Here is my current set up:
I don't use the modem from the ISP so I don't think that will be a problem. I work in the computer industry so I don't mind spending a ton of money on a nice router.
Is your recommendation Netgear Nighthawk R8000?
