I completely understand where you are coming from. Here are my three points:

  1. Have you tried an alternate ebook reader? I personally love Aldiko Book Reader and think it is much better than the stock Kindle reader. In particular it has the ability to browser books by author, title, keywords, publication date, etc. All that makes it much easier to find the book I'm looking for.

  2. PDFs are actually pretty easy to modify/work with. Have you checked out calibrewhich is hands down the best ebook organizer/library software for PC. In addition to doing a million other things I believe it will let you change the "cover picture" of your eBooks.

  3. I think the Kindle uses the first page the PDF as a cover photo and so even if you don't want to mess with calibre (which I highly recommend) you should be able to add/replace the first page of PDFs using Adobe Acrobat or there are free alternatives as well.

    Hope that helps!

I bought a Verso Prologue case the day I bought my Kindle, and I have to say, I don't regret the purchase EVEN ONE TINY BIT. This thing fits the Kindle Fire like a glove, and it looks really classy. I also like the fact that it's just about the same price as the plain looking cases at Best buy and Target. They're not cheap, but it seems like it's going to last a long time!

Oh, I also have a ZAGG screen protector on it, which I thought would be a good idea. I like the screen protector (it's very thick!), but if I had to do it over again, I would probably get a different one. It was a little difficult to install, and I have a bit of a crease in one corner as a result.

it's probably best you call them , saves you alot of hassle and time just to get the answer you need, you'd think it would be a major feature considering it's for the kids lol, sorry i couldn't help more, good luck

Edit, just wondering if there's any 3rd party software you could get that would install a filter ?

this is supposed to be a good filter

So, you're saying you want to "download" Amazon videos? Or are you saying you'd like to just download any old video onto your KF? I'm not positive about this but I don't think you can save Amazon streaming videos. But if you just want any video you could use something like Dropbox to transfer them over.

Yes, the magnetic charger adapters are great.

Sure as an adult, we can be careful about connecting/disconnecting the cable, but kids not so much and that's to be expected.

And this is why the magnetic cable adapters are so great, they take like 99% of the wear&tear away from the flimsy micro-usb port.

These are the style that we invested in:

Don't know if it is the best but 'Perfect Viewer' work for both file types.

I ordered a Built (black) carrying case. It's awesome. The Kindle Fire fits snugly in it and the interior material is soft and helps to keep the screen clean.

I quickly realized after I bought mine that I needed some external storage. If space is the issue, about the only feasible option is the Kingston Wi-Drive. It has a 16- and a 32GB model. I just load movies onto it and play from the app. Yeah, it runs as its own WiFi network and you need the app for it to even work. Plus, it's FAT32 so there's a 4GB filesize limit. I haven't tried Google Play for movies because I have Netflix, which if you're a movie buff like me with a rooted CM7 KF you should probably try. And I always heard OTA Rootkeeper worked fine--I don't know what the deal is there.

It's possible they might still work, maybe. If you still have your old Fire, install the games there. Then Install App Backup & Restore from Amazon. Use App Backup to create APKs of your installed games, copy them over to your new Fire tablet and see if they'll install.

There's no guarantee that they'll install and work properly, but it's free, so it's worth a shot.

Same here.

I also got several of those cheap stylii from Amazon. Clips nicely onto the spine of my Targus case and keeps me from getting fingerprints all over the display.

Dunno what size the 6th gen Fire is, but I have an 8.9 inch Fire HD, and finally settled on this one.

Best I've found.

Figured this out for myself.

What I've done is used PFolio, and given my Mum the login details to my google photos account.

So now every photo I take on my phone is auto-uploaded (by Google Photos), and visible to her. The safer way would be to let her log in with a different account and for me to manually share stuff, but 99% of the photos I take are of the grandson anyway, and I like to live dangerously.

Plex Media Server is the answer.

Run plex server on your home computer.

Install the plex app on your Kindle.

. . .

Stream!

Also, I got one too. Couldn't pass up that deal!
