You'll save money and tolerance by getting a decent digital scale. You can get one for less than $10 shipped. If you dose slightly too much by eyeballing it, you will have a less enjoyable experience sometimes and you may build a tolerance quicker. Some grinds are significantly finer than others and you can easily vary in weight from scoop to scoop. It's easy to take too little or too much.

in case you haven't already considered this, if you have a vacuum sealer, you can vac-seal mason jars with this attachment. Also needs a plastic air tube if you don't already have it. If you don't have a foodsaver type thing, internet says you can use the same attachment with a hand-held vacuum sealer like this. You can also use it by itself to vac-seal plastic bags. I have never used a handheld so I can't say for sure how good it is. You can probably also find any of that stuff at WalMart or something.

This will keep things tight for a loooong time. Jars come in colors if you're worried about light getting through the clear glass. I'd recommend wide mouth jars for dry goods because they're easier to scoop out of. I do a fuckload of cooking related things so I buy in mass quantities and store a shit-ton of stuff from flours, grains, and sugars to all kinds of dehydrated food in vac-sealed jars. Moisture would fuck any of that stuff up right quick and I have never yet had anything mold or go bad. When I moved I found some dehydrated foods that had gotten pushed to the back of the shelves and were like ten years old and still perfectly good.

Vacuum seal bags can only stand up to a few re-seals before you need to put everything into new bag and static cling becomes your new enemy. Mason jars solve the static and the humidity problems. They come in pint to half-gallon sizes so you can split your stuff up however you want. You can go into them as often as you want and easily seal them back up. Put 'em in a box, throw some paper in so they don't bang together and you're good to go. I keep a working jar filled with whatever I need for the month (which I usually don't bother vac-sealing) and I keep the excess sealed up tight separately on a shelf in the basement. Golden.

This is the one I use. It was recommended by a large number of DIY e-juice mixers. I use it for both that and kratom. Also for kitchen needs. I've had it for about a month and its great so far. Rarely becomes offset but is easily corrected. Has an AC adapter as well as battery power. Previously I'd used something crummy like you're describing that needed to be turned off and on repeatedly to get a good read. Check it out and see what you think.

American Weigh Scales on Amazon

Most scales will measure in grams or ounces, you just push a button to switch between the modes.

A gram scale would be fine, as long as it's OK if it's off by a gram or two. Like "100g" might be close to 99g or 101g, since it isn't showing you if it's "101.4g" or "99.5g". And most gram scales will measure over 1000g. I have this one and it's great, it's one of the top sellers on amazon. I use it to measure food/ingredients and kratom.

But you can also get scales that measure .01g that can measure over 100g. Like this one.

It's a big one but the American Weigh LB501 is a really nice scale, so nice I have 2 of them (one for DIY e juice and the other for kratom). They can run on AC or batteries and it comes with a nice big bowl you can weigh in without making a mess. If you want cheaper I'd get this one. I use one of those for a backup when I don't feel like pulling the big one out.

There is no exact conversion because you are trying to go from volume to weight. That said, one level, unpacked tsp is approx 2.5g.

Here is approx conversion cc to tsp

1 cc ~0.20 tsp
1tsp (level, unpacked) ~2.5g
0.20 x 2.5=0.5g

Like I said, that's for level, unpacked tsp. If you're packing it in, then it's more (obviously).

tl;dr: No way to know for sure. Best to get a scale.

i think you're just taking too much and possibly too often, just take like half of what you've been taking and only dose like twice a day. Kratom has a sort of plateau effect where you feel good up to a point, but taking more after that will just cause the alkaloids to build up in your body and basically cancel out the good effects

BTW i get stomach pains sometimes too, just make sure you're drinking enough water, and i've also found that those ginger chew candies help settle the stomach amazingly

This made me wonder about the optimum place for the kratom capsule to dissolve since gelatin and vegetarian capsules dissolve in different places. According to [this wikibook:] (https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Suicide/Toxification/Capsules)

"Gelatin capsules are dissolved immediately in the stomach, while vegetable capsules - since they are made of cellulose - would supposedly survive the stomach's gastric environment of extreme heat and the PH levels. Thus vegetable capsules, though not clinically proven, are believed to be dissolved only in the intestine (rather than the stomach). This means that drugs which are taken in vegetable capsules, would be metabolised only 15 minutes after the drugs in the gelatin capsules would be metabolised."

So the obvious question is, where is kratom best absorbed? According to Understanding the Physicochemical Properties of Mitragynine:

"Mitragynine being a basic drug is highly solubilised and ionized in the stomach, thus making it less bioavailable. In addition, poor oral bioavailability was also likely to be caused by its degradation in the highly acidic gastric juice." and also "It is likely that mitragynine is better absorbed in the basic environment of the intestine owing to its lipophilic nature and the fact it predominantly exists in non-ionized form"

I guess I need to switch to vegetarian capsules! Have you found vegetarian ones that are separated? I really like that feature.

No problem! If absolute least expensive isn't an issue, consider how you might use it. Might you get into other supplements? Then consider goijg for higher precision. Do you want to weigh kilos you order without having to split it up? Then consider maximum capacity. Do you anticipate doing trades, sales, or rebagging anything? Then consider looking for one with a AC adapter that keeps the power from timing out. It is a huge pain in the ass to have to constantly turn it back on during the course of a project. I use two - this 3000g x 0.1 came with the husband and this200g x 0.01. The smaller one is an ascher elite brand but I see no difference between the Ascher and the American Weigh brand. I also just bought this one because it looks more funner. I have given that smaller one and this one to different people based on what's less expensive at the time and everyone seems happy with it.

How large and how cheap or fancy?

These 16oz twist and seal are a nice balance of efficient and affordable. You can label with tape or write what it is on the container with sharpie and use rubbing alcohol to get it off.

These 160z deli-type containers are less expensive but look it.

If you want to go a little fancier there is this or fancier and larger there's this both of tose are peanut butter type jars.

If you want to go all out you can do colored capsules

Depending on how much ahead you are making capsules consider silica packs.

Or if in a rush do the above method with the tea bag, bring the tea bag to work and just let it steep in the hot water from the hot water cooler. I'll drink 3 cups of tea with the same teabag. I also squeeze in half a lime per cup and mix with honey.

Then, discard the teabag full of wet sloppy sludgy powdery gook. This is a crime to some people as I am "wasting precious alkaloids". I could probably toss and wash down the sludge, but if I do that at my desk, my boss/coworkers would probably think I had weird issues.

The tea just makes work much happier and peaceful.

I used to use capsules, now I use small baggies. You can measure out the kratom before you leave for wherever, so there's no need for a spoon or scale.

I can fit at least 1gram into each of the capsules. They are a bit large, so if you prefer a smaller size 00 fits about half a gram I believe.
