Quite honestly, I've had a few different headsets and stuff...

Hyper X Cloud II - They feel amazing. Let me effing tell you omg. They are the most comfortable headset I've ever had. I'd use them for 12 - 18 hours at a time (I don't really sleep :s) and they never make my ears hurt, I didn't get hot with them on, and they didn't press against my glasses on the side. They were perfect for not hearing external sounds. I loved this about them! Sadly, the mic on it is quiet but the sound on it was decent. I got them when they were first released and the quality was good. Mine finally died on me earlier this year and I bought another... I was disappointed. I think, despite ordering it new on Amazon, the seller sent me a refurbished set (the headband was not the same that comes on the HXC2) so I sent it back. It's priced at around $80 - $90 if I'm not mistaken. They are USB wired and come with it's own external sound card for 7.1 surround sound. Side note: I'm sad they don't sell the pink and white ones anymore :(

Hyper X Cloud Stinger (Wireless) - I'm still conflicted about this headset. The sound is decent, though I use the Razer Synapse software to boost it and it sounds a lot better. The mic is pretty good. They are extremely lightweight and just as comfy as the HXC2. The product CLAIMS to have a 17h battery for the headset. Pure lie. Mine stay charged MAYBE 5-7h if I'm lucky. It pisses me off. The wireless range is pretty good. I can walk downstairs and still hear / talk to people so I think it's probably around.. 20 - 30 feet or so? I hate that it's swivel to mute, I feel like this is just something that will eventually break. The mic is very flexible though. The volume control is on the right ear which isn't bad I suppose. If no sound has been played through them, they will automatically cut off to preserve battery after about 15-20 minutes which is a nice feature. The charging cord is an okay length, but if your tower / closest USB port isn't close to where you sit, don't expect it to reach. You can use them while charging though so that's nice. They do not muffle outside noise (for listening) except a tiny bit. I'm okay with this. I -hate- the dongle that comes with it. It's too big. It's the size of a regular 2GB usb thumb drive. Not a big deal but since I plug mine into my front ports and my tower is in front of me, I end up kicking it sometimes, lol... The ear cuffs swivel 90°, I find the feature stupid and useless but I'm sure someone out there loves it. However, they are cheap. I think $50 or so. I think one of the cheapest wireless headsets that's a brand, but I'm not sure.

The other headset I've tried is the Astro A40. It's about $130 dollars and... Well I thought I liked it at first, but when I went to write my Amazon review on it, I second guessed a lot of it's "features" that were actually just money gouges. I'll just link you to my review for it but in short, I like the sound quality, it's comfortable but I feel like the ear cushions make me a bit not, nothing too bad. The mic is good though! You can put the mic on either side of your head as there is a hole in each ear piece (covered by the tags) and the tags are interchangeable per side and easy to take off as they attach via magnets.

The mouse that I currently use for league is the Mad Catz M.M.O.T.E, why? Because I honestly though I needed a mouse with 15 buttons. I don't. I use maybe 3 other than the standard ones. I love how much I can adjust it's dpi but it seems to have issues that may or may not happen to you. After a year it started to double or triple click w/ left mouse button. I thought it was the mouse itself, turns out it was Windows, or possibly just Windows 7. The issue went away when I upgraded to Windows 10, proof it wasn't the mouse itself but possibly a driver. The company was bought out by Logitech and it's hard to find the software for it so... I don't really recommend this one at all, but it's comfy and adjustable, with lots of customization via the software. I'm not sure if you can find them anymore but the only one I see on Amazon is the tournament edition for $90. I wouldn't pay $90 for this considering there is no way to take advantage of the warranty on it. I only paid $40. I think the DPI ranges from 25 - 8.2k and you can adjust it individually for left to right and up to down. I've owned the Mad Catz 3 and played with a Mad Catz 7 or so. The 7 was nice, very simple though.

I've tried a Havit HV... something

Very, very cheap gaming mouse but it's actually good. The DPI isn't as adjustable as the mouse above, There are 4 set DPI levels, but it lights up, so I got it. I don't have any complaints about it other than having set DPI levels, it's a pretty simple mouse.

I got to try out the Ajazz Wireless Gaming Mouse. I like it overall, it's probably not good for people with larger hands as it is a slimmer mouse. You can customize it in a lot of ways. You can play with it wired if you want as it has a very nice cord length, the dongle is short and discreet. I'm a sucker for lights so I loved being able to change the colors on it, though not all colors appear as vibrant as others. It's $28

My insanely long review on said product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1RCPKV0LDJ4J3/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B07PFHQYPR

I've had bad experiences with Logitech headsets and Turtle Beaches so I don't even bother trying their brands anymore. That was a few years back though. I've been told that Logitech has improved but I won't be trying it on my own dime >:[
I don't bother a special gaming monitor or keyboard because I'm a cheap ass bitch. So I can't help you there, lol...I currently have a dual monitor set up but the monitors are nothing special or gaming specific, mine are standard 60hz. Though, from the comments, it seems 144hz is the way to go.

It depends on how much you want to get into it. If you and your group can settle down for a few hours and play, then it can be more fun than any board game on the market. However, it has some steep requirements- Namely, the price of the books and learning the rules.

There is a 5th edition starter set on amazon for fairly cheap. Here it is. If you can convince your friends to play and convince another to take the legendarily daunting mantle of "Dungeon Master" (Or become the Dungeon Master yourself) then you can have a lot of fun, and this can let you know if you're gonna enjoy it. It's all you need to play D&D in it's simplest form.

If you like the starter set, the only books you NEED to play the full version of D&D are the Monster Manual and Player's Handbook, just make sure you're getting the ones for 5th edition, because there are multiple iterations from different editions. Dungeon Master's Guide, while not required, can help you in creating an amazing story and campaign that your players will love.

After that, it's just branching out, seeing what you like and don't like about D&D, and learning from others. If you're into it, go to r/DnD - We're a good lot of folk who have numerous tools to help newer players.

Was a fun game and Fizz played extremely well to snowball. Literally carried the game virtually by himself and deserved the compliments. :)

Additionally, there is no point in ever raging. I'm as competitive as the next person (if not more so), yet why rage? I am constructive because of my mindset / outlook on life, not because "this is my game", and this positive attitude is probably one of the attributes that has helped me with all of my accomplishments.

A couple quotes that I enjoy that may provide some food for thought for you all:

"I am an optimist. It does not seem to much use to be anything else." - Winston Churchill

"The role of the leader is to keep hope alive" - General Bern Loefke

Having a positive mindset that is framed by the belief that you can overcome whatever challenges confront you is one of the core attributes shared by many successful people.

For those interested in reading more on this topic, peep a book called Mindset: http://www.amazon.com/dp/0345472322/?tag=googhydr-20&hvadid=34080648191&hvpos=1t2&hvexid=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7381209996484130525&hvpone=12.09&hvptwo=&hvqmt=b&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_2fdqp9hcev_b

The people that have hit Diamond despite physical handicaps and other challenges exemplify this mindset in League - whereas those that externalize blame constantly, rage at their teammates and say "It's impossible to get out of ELO hell" never will grow because they believe they can't grow because the underlying reason for their failure is something they think is outside of their control (which is false).

That is the same underlying false premise which belies those who give up in any activity (school, relationships, jobs, games, etc).

Those who succeed persevere and have a positive, "can do" attitude.

Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox now ;)

I don't know if you are just trying to make fun of that sort of thing or if you genuinely feel this way, but for people who do feel this way a book like Jordan Peterson's "12 rules for life" can be a really good read to try to put your life together. Aside from whatever political painting that has been thrown at the guy he is first and foremost a clinical psychologist with the ability to reach out to people like you describe and help them get their lives straight.

It's not a ticket into the alt-right like some would have you believe, it's a ticket out.

Fundamental components of music like working memory and pattern recognition are directly link with neurological development.
Here some literature better explaining it:

From my experience, playing an instrument was always a net positive; it allowed me to deal with stress; socialize with other friends by means of playing together or talking about music; I learned how to read and compose; and self-improvement.

I'm not a professional, no one pays me money. I love music, I love playing it alone or in a group. It's therapeutic - it allows me to enjoy life even more.

my god building social circles and framing the academic authority as someone you share interests with raises student morale and grades? SHOCK.

big kudos mr. lenk. i especially appreciate what you said about an introverted quiet person taking on the role, i think that's an incredibly important point.

you should check out quiet, a book exactly about this point. it actually may give you some insight into the more introverted students and how to balance their strengths in the classroom where more often than not the extroverts and gregarious students take the shine pretty often.

anyway, well done.

Yeah, it's a very famous children's book. I honestly love this book, and so do my cousin's children. Very funny.

u/bigp3rm · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

I'll just add there is a great book by John C. Maxwell called Failing Forward.

It's a great book and aims to help you in many aspects throughout your life.

I'm just going to leech onto a comment so this doesn't get buried too deep.

Your values need a wider range. I looked at your portfolio and then at your DA, you keep to the darker levels when you paint, you never use the highest whites you can. Your stuff would be so much better if you pushed your art just a little further.

I think if you looked through this, you would understand what I'm talking about if I don't make any sense.

Best of luck dude.

Need some help reading?

I suggest this as a starter. PM me if you need more material :)

PS I can help you with your math too ;)

Well, I'm not super well-versed in physics tbh but I use to really want to be a physcisits so I know a little stuff here and there.

I've read:

https://www.amazon.com/Surely-Feynman-Adventures-Curious-Character/dp/0393316041

https://www.amazon.com/Genius-Life-Science-Richard-Feynman-ebook/dp/B004LRPQIO/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=genius+feynman&qid=1569787475&s=books&sr=1-1

Also, Feynman is related to philosophy because quantum physics makes many epistemological and metaphysical claims and Feyman made many advances in the quantum physics field. Look up some interviews online, his thought process is really cooled and really makes you wonder about the natural world and how its works/structured

America's been importing our talent for the past few hundred years. There's a reason one of our presidents literally wrote a book describing us as A Nation of Immigrants

Hiring only Americans on purpose, is the least American thing you can do ;)

I think the most important thing to call out in this video is that Hai is reading one of my favorite books, Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Rothfuss. You can barely see it at 16:44.

u/EarthExile · 1 pointr/leagueoflegends

I am not responsible for the nightmares you're going to have. Let's just get that straight.

The art comes from a book called Man After Man, a horrifying experiment in creativity and futurism. Basically an insane person tried to imagine our next five hundred million years of evolution, spiced up with a few nightmarishly strange choices made by human scientists.

My personal favorite scene is when two Hitek, the near-future human variants who spend 99.99% of their time in life-support creches, attempt to mate.

You should never have asked.

I noticed that a lot of what he is saying is that he has no purpose, I had the same feeling as him, I linked a book down below to a book called man's search for meaning, it help me when I was feeling when I couldn't take it anymore. If anyone else here is suffering try reading this book it will connect with you in a deep also if you feel alone shoot me a pm and I'll listen if you need that.

> and a culture known to the world for something else than being fat, unhealthy, aggressive, and pathetically stupid.

Our culture is known to the world for being responsible for basically every major invention since the end of WWII. For giving the world Blues, Jazz, Rock and Roll, Hip Hop/Rap, and electronic music. For having the most influential and pervasive modern culture in terms of music, film, TV, and books. We invented the internet. This site you're on right now is American. Pretty much every major internet site is American.. Youtube, Google, Facebook, Yahoo, Wikipedia etc...

Yeah, our culture is only known for being fat, unhealthy, aggressive and stupid. Or... maybe that's what brainwashed people like you believe as part of your efforts to cope with being inferior to the US in countless ways and butthurt that you're dependent on us militarily, politically, technologically, and even culturally? You have to depict the US in unrealistically negative ways because the truth would damage your pride.

> Contributing to WW2 from beginning to end is also a national pride, and not joining right at the end, when all the major battles were won. Ah, England.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, you're just mindlessly regurgitating revisionist history designed to help you avoid acknowledging that you were losing in WWII before the US entered the conflict.

It's really stupid when people like you say the US didn't show up until the last minute in WWII when it was the US joining that CAUSED the war to end quickly (oh and the US joined the allies in 1941, the US was a participant for the majority of WWII). The allies were losing across the board before the US entered the war, by the way. Look at a map of Axis-held territory up until the very moment the US joined, you'll notice the Axis territory was expanding until the US entered with troops, and then began to recede and collapse immediately afterward. The allies would have lost if the US didn't do anything. Only liars or idiots will deny that.

Also, the US was the only country to fight significantly in every theater of war. The US did the most in N. Africa, the Med, Italy, and then Western Europe post D-day, while simultaneously fighting Japan on the other side of the world will very little help. The US did a whole hell of a lot more to help the allies against Germany than the help the US received against Japan. And the US did this while supplying not only its own military but all of the allies with literally the majority of their war material.

Let's quote Stalin himself, who is just about the last person who would benefit from admitting the importance of the US:

'The United States is a country of machines. Without the use of these machines through Lend-Lease, we would lose this war.' —Josef Stalin (1943)

People always say the Soviets won WWII (and then there's delusional twits like you who think the UK did). But the Soviets only began to make offensive progress after US-provided war aid began flooding in, and after the US opened the second front in Europe (something Canadians and Brits failed to do on their own without the US, in the disaster later euphemistically called the 'Dieppe Raid"). A liberaiton of western Europe would not have occurred without the US. Was the liberation of France not a major battle? It was, and the US contributed the bulk of forces.

Look at this map of army deployments in France in WWII.

Simpson, 9th Army (USA)

Dempsey, 2nd Army (USA)

Hodges, 1st Army (USA)

Patton, 3rd Army (USA)

Patch, 7th Army (USA)

Bradley, 12 Army (USA)

Montgomery, 21st Army (UK)

Crerar, 1st Army (Canada)

The US did way, way more than your country did in WWII. Get a grip on reality and realize that you're taught a bunch of lies to help you cope with playing second fiddle to the US. You hate on Americans because your history with us is quite embarrassing to you. We defeated your empire in a war, then later saved your country in two world wars, and now the only power you have left in this world is contingent upon your relationship with the US.

Cry about it some more, limey.
