looks like Majesty to me. while google search says they are non-toxic to cats i would urge you to get a plant that your cat can satisfy it's need to crunch leaves on safely. plus you will help protect your palm. Wheat Grass/oats on amazon often sold as "cat-grass" is cheap and quick grower that cats love. many pet stores sell it as well.

You could look into getting a non-climbing vine like pothos and "train" it upwards by threading them through command hooks like these mounted on the walls outside, that way you can easily disassemble it if you need to. Here's a great instagram post with pics if you need help visualizing it.

That guy is pretty etiolated. Just because they are near a window doesn't mean they are getting adequate light. I have my succulents on a west-facing windowsill that gets blasted with super bright sunset light and yet they are STILL etiolating. You might want to either invest in a grow light or put in on a south-facing window. If you want to do a grow light (which I realize you are in an office and space is valuable), this clip lamp and this bulb.

It's not quite a terrarium, but I have some of these
cute little guys in a glass container with water, stones and shells. It's a cute and easy decorative alternative.

I had the tree for around 4 months now. It looked fine when I got it and it even flowered like 2 months ago. It had some tiny fruit that fell down. It gets sunlight pretty much all day, only direct sunlight in the morning for like 2/3 hours. Water once or twice a week, depending on how dry the soil is. I also use a fertilizer spike https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q71JSSG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Is there something wrong with the tree? Apart from the leaves being that weird texture/color it doesn't look sick.

Thank you!

insect netting. like one fit for a door like this you can cut it to your window, I use it myself. and if your plants are inside then they probably don't need direct sunlight anyway or for only a short while

Soft water lacks minerals. You can supplement those by adding something like Azomite. I buy mine here.

If your water was super-hard, it's possible that your softened water might contain excessive sodium? Can you fill your watering can at an outside tap, instead of from a faucet downstream of your water softening unit?

Sorry no luck, I did a Google image search and a Google lens search, found the page on pinterest a few times with another page that looks line it's from the same book. It's even in multiple languages but can't find the name. Not sure what else to search.

Update: I think I found it. It's an old book by David longman, i found it in a bunch of different languages so it was hard to track down but I'm confident this is it.

I bought this herb book book years ago. There's lots of good pictures of the plants and their parts and included medical uses.

I got mine at Home Depot. It was around $100.

Here is a smaller one from Amazon

Some idiot downvotes this every time I mention it, because they don't understand what it is (a bacteria that kills soft-bodied bugs). If it's safe enough for cannabis, it's safe enough for a non-consumable houseplant.
