Well you have a choice of capture cards out there, here are links to internal capture cards (goes inside a desktop) and external cards my personal recomendation would be an ElGato Game Capture. It is a versitile card and served me well thus far, but please do you own research and find which one you think will suit you the best.

As for editing software there are many routes that you can take, if you have a mac there is imovie which is good for starters, if you have are a PC guy then there a few more options (that I know of). You can go one of two ways 1) Adobe (on sale right now) or 2) Sony. Either is a great choice, I would personally use the adobe choice because eventually it opens up the door to photoshop, premiere, and after affects which are excellent editing softwares.

For microphones I would recomend either the Blue Yeti or the At2020, again both are excellent it is a personal choice and I would say the Blue Yeti because it is more customizable.

All in all please read reviews of all of this stuff and make your own pro/con list for each choice because I cannot tell you a perfect cookie cutter thing to buy, because we all have different needs. I hope this helps, if you need any more help feel free to keep asking away!

EDIT:1: formatting was made nicer

So I got curious and decided to look up the book that they're messing around with and found it on Amazon.

And this is its summary:

> Eros proudly presents a sequel to the wildly successful STRANGE KIND OF WOMAN. Mamaru has landed the love of strange and sexy Shion (and her menagerie of vibrators), but after getting caught in a fight between Shion and the hot and aggressive Yuki he's got amnesia! Mamaru is racing to find his way back to the woman he knows he loved. Meanwhile, a teacher who broke the school doctor's heart when she was a student has returned and offers Yuki a love potion to best Shion and win Mamaru and the price is only- Yuki's body! All presented in the traditional Manga right-to-left style.

After 8 years of audio engineering I am able to gather that much, but what is the mic stand they use? Brand and model? I have not been able to find tan arm like that after MONTHS of research. All I am able to find are the old scissor style with large springs (kinda like what we use in radio stations) I have a very niche case where I need a mic stand EXACTLY like this one. This mic stand has been annoying me. I wish some one from RT would post the brand -_-

Do not use that capture device. It's only standard def and will look utter shit or won't run.

For capture devices there's a few options out there some more expensive than others. RT use Black Magic's Intensity Pro which is an actual capture CARD that fits into your PC, it's rather pricey and records uncompressed footage so it's better for advanced users.

I suggest looking at the Hauppauge range of capture devices such as the HD PVR, HD PVR 2 etc. I have the first HD PVR model which is component only but it's worked for me fine for years though to future proof I suggest getting the PVR 2 since it supports HDMI.

Editing software; either Premiere Pro or Sony Vegas on PC and Final Cut Pro 7 on a Mac but seeing as you're on a PC the former applies to you.
Very expensive but there are "ways" to acquire them for "free" if you get my drift...not that I condone such actions ;)

Mic-wise; I use a Samson C01U USB condenser mic but I've heard many good things about the snowball mic. I suggest, though not very necessary to get a pop filter also to stop all the popping sounds or the audio clipping if you accidentally blow into the mic.

Watch a TON of YouTube videos about editing; it's can be a hell of a lot harder than it looks but once you learn your away around the software of your choice; you'll get faster and better each time, the more effort you put in; the better quality your work will be.

This should be said; all the hardware and software in the world can't change a bad commentator; be confident when performing voice over; get used to your own voice, you'll be hearing it a lot and make sure you always have a topic at hand to talk about dead air is the worst and keep all the "erm"s to a minimum!

Hope this helps.

Has AH gotten a gel trap for airsoft yet? I'm thinking of sending one since last week Jack got hit with ricochets.

Also, does anyone know what's Andy's favorite color? I'm learning how to make lightsabers (the high-end hobby kind you'll find on /r/lightsabers) and considering sending one as well.

Looks like they're in the process of making it, called "Dishonored: The Dunwall Archives". Looks interesting, but the release date is in November.

I don't think you're stupid. You're young and excited. Nothing wrong with that. If you want to be a writer, I suggest not only writing a ton of stuff, but reading a ton. Start here: http://www.amazon.com/Writing-Well-30th-Anniversary-Edition/dp/0060891548

I've seen someone link these from another thread on the RT site:
http://www.amazon.com/ProLine-MS112-Desk-Boom-Stand/dp/B000J0N5TY but I think I'd need some kind of converter clip for a microphone that stands up to be used

I've cut way back on the amount of shampoo I use and while I have no way to verify, it appears that the amount of dandruff I have has been reduced substantially. YMMV, of course. I also bought one of these shampoo brushes - seems to work better (at the very least, I get a head massage with my shampoo.

/u/hamfan has quite a few posts talking about shampoo from more of a scientific perspective - I believe that one of his/her posts pushed me towards low poo/better shampoo.

Anyone wanting to (legally) check out this gem can pick it up here for the low, low price of $170.
