Of course most cost effective would be to make your own hot sauce w/habaneros, fermented or otherwise. If you are open to something very hot, but can be flexible with heat level depending on what you put it in/on, I would recommend a jar of Reaper mash. I buy a 9oz jar from Amazon for about $14, which sounds like a lot, but it is SPICY and pretty neutral in flavor:

https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Plant-Carolina-Reaper-Pepper/dp/B00NDAY6G8/ref=pd_rhf_sc_p_img_9?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=NEGKGVGV3HRWBJMVB8C1&th=1

If I want to go very high heat, I may add a teaspoon, sometimes, I just add a dab or two for single serving stuff. A little bit can heat up a whole pot of chili. I tend to really like things hot, and my last jar lasted me about a year. Just gotta keep in in the fridge for freshness.

Edit: oh, you could also extend it and add some vinegar for more of a tabasco flavor. The mash is quite versatile.

Check out theramenrater.com I promise I'm not affiliated but it's a hell of a resource. There's top ten lists that should help.

Also fwiw I used to and still buy the basic Maruchan ramen from most grocery stores and use powdered Habanero, Ghost and Scorpion peppers from Sonoran Spice Company and it heats up my ramen very nicely to the point where these Samyang varieties are delicious but I'm not blowing smoke out of my ears or anything.

Also I have these saved in my wish list from other recommended flavors people have shared (I'm hoping to get them on my asian market and not online):

Smack My Ass....The Slap Heard Around the World and Smack My Ass & Call Me Sally Hot Sauce Habanero They are not the hottest of sauces but I love the flavor. It reminds me of the restaurant down in FL who kicked off my love of spice, [Tijuana Flats] (https://tijuanaflats.com/) and their impressive hot sauce bar.

It depends on flavor profile more than anything. /u/urnbabyurn has it down. That will be amazing.

But you could do a simpler dish of sorts you could make a green curry without lots of coconut milk (or any for that matter) with a simple paste and fish sauce that will pack a pretty good punch. Stuff like Mae Ploy

also known as [scotch bonnet peppers](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotch_bonnet_(pepper). having recently come back from Saint Martin and experiencing these and their associated sauces firsthand, i will tell you that they are the bomb.

this was sitting on the table in most restaurants and i came back with a couple homemade bottles as well. definitely worth checking out if you get the chance!

Not spicy at all, but still delicious. I'd be curious about some of the answers to your questions also, I need me some real spicy candy!

afaik, amazon or ebay is the only option. I ordered three bottles for myself because i love the shit they give you with the ramen noodles. Couldn't find any in the Asian supermarkets so I guess they haven't shipped it over

/u/facepalm_guy is referring to the kutbil-ik. It's a little smoky but not as much as the black label one.

El Yuc's chipotle sauce is really good as well. It's milder than their habanero sauces, but the flavor is on point for anything you want a smoky chipotle flavor.

u/real-dreamer · 1 pointr/spicy

Tapatio is what I put on anything that most "normal" people eat. Gotta love it. I also have learned to love El Yucateco recently too hot for most of my friends but the flavor is so perfect.

u/Sinister_Moose_Fart · 1 pointr/spicy

It's not so much a hot sauce, but it is delicious.

You might like Matouk's Calypso Sauce, it's made with Scotch Bonnet peppers which have a nice fruitiness to them!

These are pricy but really good.

El Yucateco XXXtra Hot sauce

It has an amazing flavor with medium amount of heat but it just tastes so amazing and goes well with mexican food and meats. Really smokey tasting.

u/sistinas · 2 pointsr/spicy

I bought one of these off amazon and bring one with me when I go out somewhere. Nice variety pack so you can switch it up once in a while.

Yellowbird, from Austin, Texas, has a sriracha-style sauce...made from habaneros. Good price, also, 20 oz for $8, none of those ubiquitous boutique 5 oz bottles.

u/DerangedDiphthong · 3 pointsr/spicy

Does this look like the same thing?

u/Masuchievo · 2 pointsr/spicy

It is a bit more spicy and has a red cap instead of a green one.

I prefer it over the original.

u/schnitzelbaum · 1 pointr/spicy

is there a red cap one from huy fong? the only one with a red cap i know is the fake one ( flying goose brand ) which i personally think is better (in taste as well as in spicy/hotness)

u/TooDoeNakotae · 15 pointsr/spicy

So if you want to try all 3 flavors this isn’t a terrible deal. $29 for the set which is less than $10 each.

yes those are Pueblo Chile seeds. I would get some Rapid Rooters and stick one seed in a rapid rooter x however many you want to grow. Alternatively you can put some holes in the bottom of a solo cup fill it with dirt and then water sparingly. the rapid rooters are used as a buffer, but they will grow directly in the soil. Or just take a look at this. https://www.pexpeppers.com/how-to-grow-ghost-peppers/

u/RudieCantFaiI · 5 pointsr/spicy

THESE are the ultimate spicy pickles.

u/tylerrox13 · 4 pointsr/spicy

I got them on Amazon and they also come with shrink bands so you can seal them and give them to people as gifts!

u/Evil_Bonsai · 2 pointsr/spicy

You CAN order things on the internet, you know. Amazon, for instance

u/Cody5000 · 3 pointsr/spicy

Wow. Now I don't have to keep throwing out the ones that go bad!

You need some dirty dick's in there... https://www.amazon.com/Dirty-Dicks-Hot-Sauce-Tropical/dp/B00PZ6B080
