Could be caused by a poor wifi signal, a poor internet connection, or a squirrelly router.

The first thing my gf and I always do when our games start derping out connectionwise is to unplug the cable modem and our separate router, let them sit for 30 seconds, and then replug them, so they both have to reboot. Usually the router is rock solid, and it's the modem, but we do both just as a routine.

If your internet connection from your ISP seems stable, then you may have range issues with your wifi. Here are some options.

I recently bought one of these to replace my aging router and found out that my router suprisingly was the bottleneck in my upload and download speeds. I got the refurbed one I linked for much cheaper, and it's awesome, so I bought a couple more just to stock up for whenever I need another one. The signal is much stronger meaning better range. May solve your range problem just by replacing your router. If they're out of that one, you can buy the AC1750 refurbed for roughly $10 more, and it'll just be a better version of the AC1600.

Btw, I don't even dick around with any non-Netgear routers any more, I've used all types and Netgear has always been reliable, and they even flatout will encourage you to dinkle around with installing third-party firmware on their routers if you feel so inclined to give the router additonal functionality, specifically through this website. I always do that, but I didn't even bother with my new AC1600, because the stock firmware is more than adequate for a home situation.

Another option is to buy a wifi range extender. I recently bought my sister and brother-in-law one of these to strengthen the signal in the second floor of their condo. I got that one, because it meets the latest 802.11ac wifi standard, so it'll won't be a bottleneck anywhere it's used, but you could comfortably use this one, which is much cheaper and still plenty fast. Installation is simple. Plug it in somewhere where the signal from your current router is still pretty good, and then follow the instructions to set up its unique network ID and link it to your current router. Then set your Wii U to link to the extender network ID instead of the main router to get a stronger signal. One nice thing about those wifi extenders is that you can actually take an ethernet cable off them to plug into whatever's nearby. The bridge between the main router and extender is wireless, but the connection to the extender can be wired. Some people seem to have better luck buying an ethernet adapter for the Wii U, rather than relying on its wifi hardware, although I've never had any major issues with the Wii U's wifi capabilities.

Thanks... you take care as well!

All right, you asked for it. But be warned, I'm a real stickler on my cocktail recipes. If you can't manage the recipe below before the weekend, just have a Vodka martini for me, VERY cold, heavy on the Dry Vermouth and 2 olives! If you can't mange that... just turn up whatever bottle you have, belch loudly, and yell, "MAN, FUCK THIS FUCKING SHIT... THAT'S JUST NOT POSSIBLE" at the next player who splats you.

Double Bourbon Old Fashioned, Martini Style, Extra Sweet

2 Shots (100mL) Cheap Bourbon

2 Tablespoons (30mL) Simple Syrup

4 Dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters (Do NOT get the Angostura Orange Bitters accidentally... it's terrible)

Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Fill to top with ice. Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Pour into a frozen Martini glass. Garnish with a (proper) lemon twist, a maraschino cherry, and a drizzle of cherry juice on top.

Extra notes:

Cheap Bourbon Preference: Benchmark or Evan Williams - Evan has slightly more bite which I like, but Benchmark is quite good for the price. Less than $20 for a 1.75L

Simple Syrup Recipe: 50/50 ratio - Measure equal parts sugar and water into a Pyrex measuring cup. I actually use a "Dry" measuring cup to get exact measurements of the the sugar AND water into the Pyrex for consistency. Bring to boil in microwave. Stir, cool, store and keep.

No need to bother with the expensive, fancy bitters. Can't go wrong with this old staple! Angostura Aromatic is honestly my favorite and it's also the most common.

(Side note: I do also very much like Regans’ Orange Bitters No. 6. It's not too sickly/disgustingly sweet like the Angostura Orange variety, and it's a little bit peppery - so, yum)

Proper lemon twist: Run a channel knive all the way around the lemon once. Pull/twist gently on the resulting lemon peel to release some of that citrus oil on the skin. Wrap the peel around your finger or a spoon handle or something to create the curly-Q.
This is my lemon zester. The channel knife works VERY well at channeling off a lemon twist.

I caved and bought an ethernet cable and LAN adaptor for the Spongebob v Patrick Splatfest. Best $28.47 I've ever spent! I get additional value from it since I love playing MK8 online.

I did the thing with the fake nails. Can't recommend it...
What I can reccomend is using vampire fangs... like these once.
They are a little pricy and you need two sets but they look good. There are probably others you can find that are cheaper.
Good luck.

Just because you aren't noticing lag doesn't mean you aren't lagging from your opponents perspective. Getting set up on LAN is really only polite.

Since your router is in another room, something like this will be helpful. Just pair it with a proper LAN Adapter and you're good to go!

The wireless card in the wiiu is laughably bad, if you use a wired connection you'll see an immediate difference. If the modem/router being in different room is an issue pick up a cheap powerline adapter.

getting this powerline adapter

and this ethernet adapter

will cost you under $40 but give you a vastly superior online experience. I use the same ethernet adapter and it made online so much better. The way powerline works is you plug one into the wall near your router and one near your console, the connection is sent through the powerlines in your wall, it's very cool stuff.

I couldn't cope with the withdrawal so I got this $13 dollar lan adapter from Amazon and it works like a charm DM me if you need any help setting up if you decide to get it.

If you are curious about getting a capture card, Amazon has both the the AVerMedia Gamer Live HD 2 and Portable 2 for $99 right now. Pretty good price for a 1080p60 card as the comparable El Gato and other such competitors usually run $150+.

I picked the Live HD 2 the other day and have been messing around with it. Quality looks sweet once I dialed in OBS with both streaming and recording. Plus, it's also an excuse to finally get my Ryzen 7 1700 to flex its muscles outside of gaming. Setup was pretty straightforward, but I am noticing some quirks as I try to get the audio to pass through to my headset instead of my current noisy headphone port to line in setup. I may even start recording more of my trash league X rank Rainmaker shenanigans as I always forget to use the built-in recorder in the heat of the moment.

Yep. ... more disconnects. I might actually try this dumb little cat5-usb converter i have and see if the wiiU can use it..

It's the little fake grass thing that comes in packaged sushi or bentos. What a silly thing to put on a sniper rifle!

I don't know about a video, I did my research on google, but I'll try to explain. Here's the setup:

Switch > aux > ground loop isolator > aux > PC (line-in, the blue one on the back)

Windows machines (and I assume Linux and Mac can do it to), allow you to listen to a recording device (such as a microphone, or line-in) on your speakers/headphones so you can hear what is coming through. In this case, if we're using Discord or Switch App emulated, we need to be able to hear game audio. This link tells you how to enable it.

There are a few problems with this however:

  • Firstly, we have a ground loop if the Switch is docked, which causes a buzzing noise. This is caused by a loop of electricity due to the Switch and Computer being powered on the same grid (in this case, the cables in your home). To fix this, we get a ground loop isolator, which removes the extra voltage causing the buzzing.

  • Secondly, I had to turn off audio enhancements on the line-in device, not sure why. I wasn't able to hear the line-in audio otherwise.

  • Thirdly: Using line-in rather than microphone (this works with a microphone/redpink port also) helps avoid confusion when setting up voice chat in Discord. However, if you have a laptop (or even an older motherboard in your desktop pc) you may not have enough audio ports (or the necessary line-in port), especially if you have a headset that uses 3.5mm jacks and not usb. This can be easily solved with a USB sound card for your headset (which will also help with sound quality). Oftentimes, when you plug an audio device into a laptop, you'll get a screen like this, in which case we want to select line-in.

Might I ask exactly what your setup is? This way I could tell you exactly what you need to get, and what to plug in where.

Most if not all of the shoes in game are based on real ones, you just have to know where to look.

ex. blue slip-ons, pirahna moccasins, white kicks.
