I've got each of these, they're inexpensive and solid lights. I spent over a month researching lights online and found these ones were the best balance of price, performance, and reliability.

This headlight is really nice, comes with a rechargeable battery, and is VERY bright. I would also suggest getting one of these lense replacements so that the beam projects in a wider arc.

This tail light is pretty fantastic as well.

I've got two pairs of those, they work great and are less than a third what competing products go for. I've had them for over six months now and haven't had any issues.

That's awesome! You're definitely free to come by shop hours and ask advice and use the tools there. We've got all the bike tools you'd need for sure.

I'm sure if you post the picture on our Facebook page you'd get lots of helpful suggestions. To start you off, I'll recommend an Airzound horn. They're ridiculously loud and refillable with your bike pump.

I used to always get sick, miss work, miss school, assignments. But now, I never get sick, I mean never, maybe 24 hour symptoms tops. I travel very frequently, always outdoors or in public as I frequent shows and what not. I never get a flu shot and never get the flu. Its a waste and will never target every strain. Read the book Never Be Sick Again. You are smart, you are in college, now study how to be a strong human with a super human immune system. Healthy lifestyles do not end with avoiding germs. You can't avoid germs. Its about building your immune system to the point it can fight off germs with ease.

EDIT: Downvotes? For health knowledge? Zero responses? College doesn't work for everyone I guess.

I’m an international student as well and living by myself with no friends/family gave me major anxiety about feeling safe in my first year at UCF. I have this door stopper . It’s cheap and portable. It’s given me back my peace of mind and I’m not worried as much anymore.

I’m sorry this happened to you, and I hope something like this can help you as a precaution and give you some amount of security.

The textbook is usually Discrete Mathematics and It's Applications. Don't let the bookstore fool you, the sell the "UCF Edition" for an inflated price. The only difference is an additional introduction. Here is an Amazon link where you should be able to find a reasonably priced used copy. Alternatively, here is a link to a PDF copy that you can have for free! Enjoy =)

I'll fourth that. I ride from chapman to ucf on my commute to class and the only problem i've had is the debris on the side of the road. Get yourself some good re enforced tires like these which will help although i did take a screw straight threw my tire the other day. Which leads me to say this. Always keep on you the supplies to change a tube in the case of a flat. Nothing worse than being 25 miles from home on a flat tire and no way to change it.

So you need to get this:

  • tire levers
  • pump or CO2 canister
  • spare tube
  • dollar bill (in the event that something slashes your tire open enough for a new tube to be forcing it way through it, the dollar bill trick will save you. Just put the bill inside the tirewall where the gash is and then put the tube in. The dollar bill acts as a buffer so the tube wont try to expand through the gash and cause another pinch flat.)

Got this on sale for $60
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FDYGMA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_QinaBbR647D1B
Weighs next to nothing and takes up just as little space. Zippered openings in the armpits to allow them to breath, pockets are zippered as well. Hood can be packed into the collar.

That's with 2 years XBL at $15/mo. That's not $99, that's $460.

As a matter of fact, they're massively overcharging for the XBL membership to make up for the kinect, which really doesn't have enough (quality) games out to make it worth purchasing. Check this out.

24 mo from gamestop = $360

24 mo from Amazon = $100.

If one were to buy a Kinect separately after taking my offer, they'd still be saving money.

For stickers on glass, don't use goo-gone. Use a razor blade to scrape the glass.

https://www.amazon.com/Hyde-Tools-13050-Scraper-Blades/dp/B000BPEPSC

It does not scratch, and takes less than a minute. Also, use it for your glass top stoves too.... Years of baked on grime on the rings will come off and it will look like new.

They have them on amazon, and they're decently cheap. They're called breakaway cables.

Just for the record you can't just "go online and get a teacher's edition from the publisher", it's not that easy. To correctly obtain teacher edition texts from a reputable publisher, you need to provide evidence and information that you are a teacher yourself, and are an instructor for the course before they will give you anything.

That being said, a student should not be able to obtain a copy of any teachers edition book, and if they do manage to get one, it was done so "illegally".

EDIT: After writing what I wrote I did a quick check and saw you can actually buy a TE for this from Amazon... so I stand corrected. Not sure what to think. I still can't tell if this is a true TE or just a supplement. Sometimes they do sell "partial" TEs, but the real TE has more content. I just assumed this was true for all TE since most engineering/math books don't allow you to buy TE directly. If anyone is wondering I used to teach Calculus back at the Uni.

> Turning in assignments should not be locked behind a pay wall. A student should not fail the class just because they didn't buy it.

You're not wrong, but I have a few issues with that.

First, do you really believe that the school does not have a system in place to help those that genuinely cannot afford it? Every class I've had that mentioned Cengage had the teacher explicitly mention that if paying for it was a problem, to get in contact with them.

As I mentioned, I used to go to a different school. $125 per semester, required by every math class I took. It's a good step down for me to pay that much in a year.

Second, we've got 750 students this semester in Calc 3 alone. I've got 3 assignments that were due yesterday, and 2 more due Monday.

If all the assignments only had 6 questions each, that's ~22k questions to be graded this week. Somebody has to do it. UCF is apparently even making their own software/site for this, but regardless of when it gets finished you know we're gonna foot the bill. One way or another we pay for this shit to get done.

> Also, access codes hurt the used textbook market.

You're not wrong but if we can get the textbook + assignments graded for the same price, what's the big deal?

Renting my textbook for Calculus would have cost the same as paying for access, and I covered both Physics classes too (along with whatever else I want to study on)

Beside the point either way. My issue was that the OP was full of shit, not 'Oh poor Cengage.' My bad for expecting people here to read instead of jumping in on another circlejerk.

I’m not really sure but I feel as if someone stealing something from you along with a sign of attempted break in is grounds for calling the police and attempting to file a hate crime, but the stealing and attempted break in is an obvious crime. As far as protecting yourself goes, there’s door stoppers that you can buy online to prevent break-ins while you’re home like this door stopper. I know this can be kinda expensive but security cameras are a good idea as well. I’m really sorry you have to go through this in 2019, people are so crazy!!
