You know how restaurants sometimes post their first $1 earned on the wall? Well, here's the first VTC I mined through the One Click Miner last night.

0.00828269 VTC ... or roughly $0.01.

I have an older, gaming rig with an AMD Sapphire Radeon R7 260X. It still allows me get my modded-Skyrim fix when I need it but with my current hash rate of around 161.9Kh/s (lol), it's not remotely close to being useful as a miner.

Still, I love that the dev team is actively working to support us with ASIC resistant mining. Keeping control of a currency out of the hands of centralized, toxic groups of people (I'm looking at you, Jihan) is reason alone to support VTC. I may not be able to contribute in a meaningful way to the network's hashrate, but I sure as hell plan to support it in other ways.

Great! Now I'm getting emails from Amazon saying the GPUs are on back order and they don't know how long the delays will be. :-/

By the way, do you know about CPU compatibility?

I will have the H81 motherboard, and I have ordered the CPU (BX80637G1620), but now I am not sure if it will fit into the slot on the motherboard. What do you think? Will it be OK, or should I get the BX80646G1820, or something else?

The mobo: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00HEUIS2G/

The CPU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B2HH5GM/

Thanks so much, without you guys in the community I'd be playing on a PS3 somewhere oblivious to Vertcoin!

I would recommend 1070 instead of 1080. They are more versatile because some memory intensive algorithms like Dagger Hashimoto (which Ethereum uses) doesn't work well with 1080's GDDR5X memory.

Also if you want to save, there are much cheaper motherboards which in my experience work as well as that 180$ MSI motherboard for example this: https://www.amazon.com/GIGABYTE-GA-H110-D3A-LGA1151-2xDDR4-Motherboard/dp/B073ZMZV6K/

Alright the 270's seem to draw somewhere between 250-300 watts each which means you could probable (just barely) power them with both your psu's but as you can see in the video i posted above the power draw from the mobo goes up 50 watts per card, that plus the average 125 watts to run everything else on the computer you would need at least another 450 just for the actual computer.

My suggestion would be to remove the graphics cards from the 1st psu see how many you can run stably on the 2nd then run that -1 on the 1st psu. You will want to get another psu so you can get your last couple cards in.

People seem to love these http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-Watt-EPS%C2%A0-CX600/dp/B0092ML0OC/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1396147916&sr=1-1

But this would match your others

Hope you don't mind if I piggyback on your post so I'm not spamming the sub. I bought 3 gigabyte 1080 ti's for my first ever mining rig. I have everything set up but the gpu risers that I bought (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N3UVJHM/) apparently weren't getting enough juice to the cards.

Can someone who has built a 1080 ti rig recommend a riser that will fully power my cards? Thanks!

Do you think I could just buy three separate 280Xs on Amazon or eBay? Or should I just buy from PCCG, they are pretty good and most likely ship faster than the sellers on eBay/Amazon.
Here's the MSI 280X, it's only $350 and new:

I will link for him: http://www.amazon.com/Bitcoin-Supernova-Electronic-Currencies-Dominate-ebook/dp/B00IJ0AHVU/

It is a 26 page "essay." I use the word in quotes because from the preview pages it reads as disjointed thoughts from someone who still doesn't fully understand how cryptocurrency works. I recall a previous essay of his being on sale in the /r/bitcoin sub. The same was said about that essay. When something is that short and is essentially an opinion piece, it would do better to be a free article on a bitcoin blog. Perhaps if he had a books worth of research and writing, it would be worth something. Just my two unsolicited verts.

I would go with a motherboard like the ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ its made for mining so adding extra cards is super easy. I tried other boards and had problems with it detecting all my 4 of my video cards. this motherboard allows for up to 13 GPU. it allows you to grow as you add more video cards.

Toward the end of the essay I explain why I like Vertcoin and why it could become a major force within the crypto world.

Also, you can read a free sample on Amazon or your Kindle before deciding to get it

I have almost that exact setup(4 msi r9 270s & 2 saphire r9 270s), however I have undervolted my cards and am getting away with this 1000 watt psu. So far I have not had any problems, however it probably would have been wise to get a 1200 watt.

I would recommend using these risers, it's the newest version. Had 12 of them for a year with 0 issues: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076MSJQBS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Also, don't use SATA plug for power. Use only MOLEX or 6-pin.

Have you built a computer before or are you willing to learn? Even with the one-click-miner there will be things that aren't plug-and-play.
