Still too expensive.

Anker has a really good set of truly wireless headphones that everyone should buy.

Wanted to gather some reviews on these headphones as well as some thoughts towards the somewhat similar:

I bought last year's model back in August and they're still fantastic sounding and have a great price. Only downside in my opinion is the battery isn't as good as airpods, but they'll get you through most long workouts or a good chunk of your work day.

Not exactly the same shape as the Pixel earphones, but these from Anker have been great for me. Decent battery life and a nice little case. Android Police did a review of them not too long ago. Sound way better than the price tag would let you believe.

I bought these for $45 and I would rather use them

Since no one is going to say anything, I'll try to add just a little bit myself.

The case looks dummy thicc so you won't really want to carry it around in my pocket all day and the built in USB cord is a bit questionable and will probably be the fail point since you cannot replace it. The battery life from the case is probably it's biggest feature with 9x full charges (18x for a single earbud) which is hard to come by. Downside is that it it doesn't seem like you any sort of fast charging out of this so charging will be 1:4 charge to playtime but they work interdependently so you can swap 1 earbud at a time for like 3 days straight. The even bigger and not unexpected downside is that is scored a solid F on Fakespot.

The mic is complete trash:https://youtu.be/fmKQc-DRhio?t=250 but it does seem like it is able to actually connect and play music. It only has play/pause music and it is possible to accidentally call someone with a double tap. Overall it is at least safer to buy these on Amazon than Aliexpress since you can return them. They may be good for going somewhere where you don't want to bring your expensive Apple/Samsung/Sony/Bose/etc wireless headphones like a dark ally or to throw to a kid watching a movie on their ipad in a Denny's with the sound at max volume when you are just trying to eat your damn pancakes in peace and maybe they will either get them to work or choke on an earbud but either way you will have some peace and quiet.

Although $45 is almost 3x the cost, the Anker Soundcore Liberty Neo would probably be your best budget true wireless headphones with a very solid warranty to back it up.

what exactly would it depend on? I'm planning on getting Anker's Liberty Neos while they're on sale, can you tell if they would work?

u/MagicCarpDooDooDoo · 1 pointr/Android

Have you tried true wireless? They're fantastic, but I usually like to have only one in at a time, so they are ideal for me. Left one in, right one charges. Right one in, left one charges. Charge the case when I charge my phone (both usb-c). They're water resistant like my phone so I can wear them in the shower or on runs without a problem.

These anker (soundcore subbrand) ones are good, but they're not usb-c on the case yet.

I just got a set from Anker off of Amazon. Under their Soundcore brand name. “Soundcore Liberty Neo” is what they’re called. Sound quality is pretty respectable, and Bluetooth 5.0-based.

You won’t get all of the little extra features the AirPods have, like them automatically showing up on your phone ready to pair, or pausing automatically when you take one out, but they’re also half the cost. I like them so far, and they’re far better at passive noise cancelling given that they’re an in-ear design and not a earbud one.

If you want to check them out, here you go.

Degradation isn't that big of a deal. It goes unnoticed by most who have a phone for 2-3 years. Most modern batteries degrade a small fraction of their entire capacity every year. Most people will lose or break their headphones/earbuds by then. Also charging things is not hard. Especially when most earbuds have a charging case for you to store them when they are not in your ear. We charge our phones, controllers, cars, tablets, laptops, and vapes just fine every day so why are headphones such a drag? Last, I got these earbuds a couple months ago for $44. They sound like really good $30 wired ear buds. I don't think $15 is that significant of a premium for everything you get.

You'll probably find them for 35 or less on Black Friday.

I'm actually very pleasantly surprised at how good they sound. Now keep in mind, they obviously don't have all the features of airpods pros, and if you're worried about call quality the airpods blow them away. But the sound quality for music, imo, is unquestionably better. Not great, but solid especially for the price.
