1: throw that water supply away and buy a 1/4" braided stainless hose. That plastic line is junk.

3: connect it to the cold water line (at the faucet and fish the new stainless hose through the cabinets.
*or call a plumber and spend $200 to do it for you, I say it often in the SUB. A leak/flood is major cost. Even a weeping connection will ruin your cabinets if not caught in time.
You can buy an extender tee that you can mount just after the valve, it will have a 1/4 inch fpt on the side and 1/2 on top
