Currently there's no option for 1080p 144Hz IPS at 24". You can find those specs at 27" with the ASUS VG279Q but in my opinion 27 inches is too big for 1080p and it wouldn't look as sharp.

However there are 2 displays coming out this year that fit those specs. There's the unnamed ASUS 24.5" 1080p 144Hz IPS display (likely with FreeSync support) that people are guessing will come out Q2 2019 and we don't know what the price will be but I'm guessing maybe like $250 considering the 27" is $319.99.

But unless there's a huge difference in quality between the monitors, what I'm doing is waiting for AOC to drop the AOC 24G2U, a 23.8" 1080p 144Hz IPS panel with FreeSync support that's supposed to retail for about $190 (converted from 169€)

I'm using https://www.displayninja.com/new-monitors-in-2019/ to keep track of monitors coming out this year BTW, I've found it pretty helpful

Edit: There will also be a 240Hz version of that ASUS IPS Freesync monitor if that interests you

u/rmeas002 · 7 pointsr/buildapc

What games are you playing? I used this Asus monitor forever and it was amazing. And it has Freesync, but most games you'll play with a 5700xt at 1080p should handle it.

u/Sumsero · 4 pointsr/pcmasterrace

r/buildapcsales is your friend, also don't order monitors from newegg due to their atrocious dead pixel policy. Amazon has a much better policy.

$140 - ViewSonic VX2458-MHD, 1080p 144hz, 24 inches, MVA: It's freesync, g-sync compatible on 10xx and up but you need a displayport cable. Some concerning reviews.

$180 - Dell D2719HGF, 1080p 144hz, 27 inches, TN: Also freesync and g-sync compatible (seems a dp cable equal to or under 6 feet is best). For $189 it comes with the 6 ft dp cable. Some would have you believe that TN is garbage or that 27 inch 1080p is bad, I say not really. Unless you do photo work or really into color accuracy, TN looks fine. Also the viewing angles are good enough for 4 people sitting in a row. The 27 inch part can be solved just by moving the monitor backwards.

$280 - ASUS VG279Q, 1080p, 144hz, 27 inches, IPS: The only 1080p 144hz I could find with "muh IPS panel", freesync and g-sync compatible with dp. This price is garbage for a 1080p 144hz monitor, you can get a 1440p 144hz monitor for cheaper. As typical with IPS monitors, has quality control problems - if you care at all about dead pixels, expect to send it back to Amazon for a replacement several times. The only reason why you would want a monitor like this one is if you really need IPS but don't have the GPU for 1440p.

The first two options are good prices. If you have the budget for it, you might consider 1440p 144hz; good TN options at around $300 these days (I got mine for $250 a week ago), and IPS options around $400.

u/cherryblossomsstorm · 2 pointsr/buildapc

27" 1080p 144hz IPS does not exist, you are mistaken or I missed a major recent release. fuck me: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KXHTRT5?tag=rtings-tv-ps10b-20&ie=UTF8

Consider ISP or nano-ips 1440p144hz if you can stretch to $400-500 range. The 27GL850 just came out and it is colorfull and accurate.

Dell SG27 for $300 (TN 1440p144hz) has great color reproduction for TN panels.

Otherwise there are some 1080p144hz TNs that are good enough.

If you're doing production work that requires color accuracy run screaming from TNs. If you play Skyrim, Witcher, Greefall, Tombraider etc - "cinematic games" - I'd also go for IPS.

TN these days ... IPS has gotten so so close to it in price and response speed. It's hard to recommend.

VA is also an option if you don't play overwatch/CS:GO or aren't sensitive to smearing! some good reasonably price 1080p144hz VA panels.

u/Carstellz · 2 pointsr/blackdesertonline

The border around the screen is a big turn off for me with the Zowie, it is really big and puts more space between a flush multi-monitor setup. I am also not a big fan of the color panel on BenQ/Zowie monitors (Even though the Asus and Zowie here are both TN panels, the difference is noticeable). I have owned two Zowie/BenQ monitors and both of them have kinda washed or un-saturated colors that need to be modified with a monitor profile and some other things. You also get another 3 inches on the Asus monitor.

u/Gastronomicus · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Well 1440p was clearly the context of the original discussion. That you missed that and never specified is on you.

1080p IPS at 144hz is just a rare bird. It's just a model that barely exists because there is little demand, so it will command a disproportionate price. But certainly not $400..

u/FaxedForward · 2 pointsr/Monitors

What size are you looking for? Lots of options in that price range, especially at 24"/1080. The ASUS VG279Q is well-liked if you can live with 1080p in a 27" panel.

https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/best/budget-gaming

Every panel type has its flaws. TN is poor colors. IPS is poor contrast. VA is poor dark transitions. It is what it is. No monitor is perfect, you just have to decide what flaws you can live with most.

u/coldtires · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Xbox One S is a bad pick for 1440p, you really need an Xbox One X to output 1440p resolution.

PC monitor HDR is very bad at anything other than the highest tiers, Vesa Display HDR 1000 and 600 class display. Your Acer is 400 class which is pretty much HDR in name only.

https://displayhdr.org/certified-products/

If you have an Xbox One S forget about HDR as you need a 1080p monitor for optimal image quality,

IPS or VA panels will deliver better image quality though they have their own trade offs.

The Asus VG279 is a high end 1080p 27" IPS monitor with an effective Freesync range of 20-120Hz.

But you can find cheaper without the full spec Freesync range.

u/ishootforfree · 2 pointsr/buildapc

Like the other posters said, it's gonna cost you an arm and a leg. Get a nice IPS 1080p 144hz monitor (something like this) and run your PC and PS4 Pro with it instead. You'll get improved performance running your PS4 Pro at 1080p, and it will look awesome on a nice IPS panel without shelling out the cash for a 4k 100+ hz monitor. You can build a great 1080p 144hz PC for less than $1000.

u/PolyMathPro · 1 pointr/Monitors

Ive been thinking about very similar monitors.

I dont believe the flat version is available via prime, or at least not 2-day shipping or whatever.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B07KXHTRT5/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all

This is the VG279Q.

I'm far from an expert, but maybe very slowly becoming one accidentally. According to NCX a trusted monitor meta-reviewer and tester, the Curved displays in this category have slightly blurrier text: http://bestmonitorsbyncx.createaforum.com/general-discussion/best-reviewed-flicker-free-144hz-1080p-monitors/msg386/#msg386

Anyway good luck.

This was one that caught my eye. I can’t honestly say I’m knowledgeable enough on panels to know the differences between VA and IPs. I guess I’d be fine with going VA since a friend of mine got one and he’s definitely satisfied with it.

Two models out there:

Asus VG279Q https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5

Acer VG271 https://www.amazon.com/Acer-VG271-Pbmiipx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MDXF81K

I just picked up the Acer VG271 last week for $250 on Amazon and I am LOVING it. Until those 24" 1080p 144Hz IPS come out in who knows when, these two monitors are fantastic for a high refresh rate monitor that looks great without killing your video card.

u/VizricK · 1 pointr/PUBGConsole

I got the Acer 1080p IPS 144hz a few days after Prime day. Best upgrade to my Samsung Monitor from 08'.

Acer Nitro VG271 Pbmiipx 27" Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Monitor with AMD Radeon FREESYNC Technology, 144Hz, VESA Certified DisplayHDR400, (2 x HDMI 2.0 Ports & 1 x Display Port) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MDXF81K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_VmHRDb3QWZGJP

There's a VG279qr version with 165hz but don't know it's a VA or IPS panel. The *Q is an IPS. Thereis an LG IPS compete with these. But I have not tried them.

----

I've tried both these monitors and at the time got them half the price that it is now but there are amazing for the price bracket. I keeped the Acer as it has speakers (not the best rarely use them) HDR, AMD freesync, HDMI 2.0x2 Displayport, Audio Jack, etc.

I do graphic design but also try and have one monitor on the desk so I try to get the best I can for all my devices. PC, XBOX, SWITCH. I've tried TN VA curve (curve monitors stretch your image in the last few inches and give a fish eye look to everything). I can't use them for longer than a few hr or days. There colors are shit washed out with whites and blacks just bleeding every where.

I was holding out for a long time on a 24inch monitor but this 27inch IPS monitor pixel density is not to bad. I would have gone with the 1440p version forn the best upgrade. But the fact that I play on a day one XB1. I couldn't really go for it. The Acer is still an amazing upgrade and future proofing for late next year's release of consoles.

u/CherryBlossomStorm · 1 pointr/buildapc

Definitely overpriced. Here is a VA 1080p 144hz w/ 4ms response, 3000:1 contrast for $170

Or for the same price you can get 1ms IPS monitors like the VG27Q used from $180

u/brianziggy · 1 pointr/editing

Well here ya go, this is the monitor hands down from what I've gotten from this subreddit, its a monitor I want to game and edit perfectly on. Its 27in 1080p IPS(for color) 1ms response time(for gaming) freesync, 144hz(for gaming) https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG279Q-Monitor-FreeSync-Adaptive/dp/B07KXHTRT5 its only 310 right now and its 315 at bestbuy if you wanna go to store.

u/frostymoose · 1 pointr/Monitors

As far as I am aware, there is only one 144hz 1080p IPS display out there right now and it's the ASUS VG279Q Unfortunately a bit higher than $350 CAD

According to TFTcentral, monitors with a 24" 1080p IPS Panel should be hitting store shelves in the next 2-3 months. That/those monitor(s) might fall within your budget when they show up.

With regards to 27" being too large for 1080p, I disagree with that. Just have the screen a little further away. Or maybe my eyes just aren't sharp enough!

u/ShoeIace_ · 1 pointr/buildapc

Considering the 2070 can't really handle 1440p, would this ASUS VG279Q 27" Full HD 1080p IPS 144Hz 1ms be a better option. I really wish it was 24'' but at least it has Freesync and its an IPS. Thoughts?

u/Acidinmyfridge · 1 pointr/buildapc

Would recommend these. They're good quality, durable, quiet, very decent airflow, decent price.

If you can spend a bit more, go for the sleeved version (even more quiet)
https://pcpartpicker.com/product/WrvZxr/be-quiet-bl066-505-cfm-120mm-fan-bl066

As for a monitor, that would come down to personal preference i guess.I would recommend a 27inch 1080p 144hz IPS slim brezel/frameless monitor. You'll be able to play everything in ultra settings.Personally, i don't see that much of a difference between resolutions 1080p vs. 1440p, but FPS refresh rateis very noticeable between 60hz and 144hz. Obviously.

I'd recommend https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KXHTRT5/ref=dp_cr_wdg_tit_nw_mr

https://www.amazon.com/Acer-VG271-Pbmiipx-Technology-DisplayHDR400/dp/B07MDXF81K/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=1080p+144hz+IPS+27+freesync&qid=1557326320&s=electronics&sr=1-9

The IPS panel is so so worth it, can pull long gaming sessions without any issues and eye straining at all.

I have a BenQ GW2780 IPS 1080p 75hz monitor, since i have no need for much higher FPS. But even with this monitor, games like pubg are a blast.

u/InvincibleBird · 1 pointr/Amd

Almost all FreeSync IPS monitors are 1440p, 2160p or 21:9. There is only one 1080p IPS FreeSync display that I know of and that is the ASUS VG279Q. Personally I wouldn't go for a 27" 1080p screen due to the very low pixel density and would go for a 1440p screen instead. However the RX 580 is way better for 1080p than 1440p in graphically demanding games so it is a viable option in this case.

As far refresh rate I would say that 144Hz is a good target due to how many monitors there are with that refresh rate and because there are serious diminishing returns of going beyond that (and you're unlikely to go beyond that most of the time with a 2600 + RX 580).

I personally can't stand curved monitors, especially the cheap ones. I'd just get a 24" flat monitor in that price range. Personally I prefer IPS, so the 27" VG279Q is my favorite inexpensive gaming monitor but it is $320.

I know it’s only 1920x1080 but I liked the price and I the g-sync compatibility has been great so far. Ideally 144Hzbit I’m fine with anything over 75.

At the moment I’m mainly playing Monster Hunter World and Rainbow 6 Siege but I’d like to be able to run upcoming games at at least high settings steadily (Cyberpunk 2077, etc).

u/GeneralSpacey · 1 pointr/Monitors

If you want color accuracy, then you're going to want an IPS panel. Problem is that IPS panels are more expensive if you want them at 144hz. The cheapest IPS 1080p 144hz is $314. Also the response times are going to be alot worse than your TN panel.

There is also this one, which is with an IPS panel. It has Freesynch though, but I think it is G-Synch compatible, just like the one you send.
