White Widow shortly after completion. For all those who said the 3x 480s were ridiculous, ill have you know they are still overclocked and running strong 2 years later!!

Limiting yourself to only white speakers leaves very little in the way of choice. To simplify things a set of powered speakers would be a good choice. Here are (in white) some AudioEngine A5+'s They are very highly rated and I would recommend them. If your built-in can't support the depth but isn't so wide you could just get some speaker stands to put these to the sides.

I feel like in that price range the Nanoleaf might be the least risky thing to buy.

You can get some amazing mechanical keyboards and keycaps with that pricepoint, but if he is picky it could get tricky.

Out of all the things I've splurged on my battlestation my speakers are my favorite.

Before I only listened to music at my computer with my headphones on because I had cheap speakers that I only used when showing other people videos. Now these speakers make my $300 headphones sound cheap.

You don't have to spend $400 on speakers obviously, but I think premium speakers are a worthy investment for a battlestation.

If you aren't tied to an all-in-one setup, you can use powered speakers instead of a receiver and passive speakers. Turntables require a phono preamp in order to correctly produce sound. Often it will be in the receiver or through an external unit. But if you are trying to reduce clutter, you can get a turntable with a built-in phono preamp.

Here are a couple of recommendations for a good quality setup:

So I recently bought the standing desk (with monitor arm and the mount for my desktop), as well as a new monitor. I'd like to add a few things to this setup. Namely a headphone stand, a phone holder/stand, and some speakers.

I've settled on the speakers. I'll be getting the audioengine a5+, but can't decide if I want them in white or bamboo.

I also can't decide if I should do the phone and headphone holders in white or bamboo/wood. Any recommends here? Thanks!

I plan on buying either these Kanto's or These AudioEngine Speakers. the problem i have is i have no clue what else i need in order to make these things work on my PC. i just want to be able to listen to music and my videogames. I currently have Sennheiser 598's plugged into a Presonus AudioBox USB but im not sure if i can also plug these speakers into that?

There are a few decent active speakers in your price range, but not many with an optical input. So far for $200 and under I have only found the Edifier R1850DB. This is a great starting set of speakers. You can find them here:

Most active speakers in this price range will have RCA inputs instead and a lot of TV's will have RCA outputs to connect to them. If you have the option of connecting through RCA, other great options include the Edifier R1700BT and the Fluance Ai40. If you can spend over $200, some other good options would be the Edifier R2000DB for $250, the Audioengine A2+ for $250, the Kanto YU4 for $330, the Vanatoo Transparent Zero for $360(best on this list, IMO), the Kanto YU6 for $400, or the Audioengine A5+ for 400.

If you want to get a record player down the road, it is important to know whether or not you will want a turntable that has a phono preamp built in(this will limit your selection greatly) or if you want a turntable that requires and external phono preamp(this is most turntables and you will need an amp or receiver that has a phono preamp included). The reason I say this is because the Kanto YU4 and YU6 listed above already has a phono preamp built in, so that's one less thing you need to get down the road. The other speakers do not have this.

I'm looking for desktop speakers in the 200-300 range. I currently use a FX Audio DAC-X6 for my Sennheiser CX300 and have a HifiMan HE-400 on the way.

You may have guess given my headphone choice: I'm more of a basshead than full audiophile. And I'm looking for the same in desktop speakers.

THE BIG CATCH: No dedicated sub. My downstairs neighbor is a **** so I'd like to get a pair of speakers that have decent bass out of the box.

I've been eyeballing the Kanto YU4 and the Audioengine A5+ because I'd rather not get a separate amp, but I'm not sure and wanted to hear some opinions.

These are my speakers, I'm assuming they would be classified as powered.

I switched the switch on the back of my turntable before, and the sound was just extremely low.
