Sounds like you need to get some folks together and play Diplomacy, a game designed to destroy friendships and trust forever.

Such a great game.

You would love the board game Diplomacy. It's honestly very similar to the situation you described. Fewer nukes, but the whole idea is to just use your wiles to get ahead and take over the world.

Avalon is owned by WOTC so it is the same. This is the version I have.

and literally never been played, my gaming group would never get involved on that. I got too excited and optimistic about that seriousness of game when i purchased it.

The combined rules of Diplomacy + 1900 are printed on the bottom of the map.

However, go buy a copy of Diplomacy and support the publisher, its only $26.

Well there's always Cutthroat Caverns. A game where "Without Teamwork you'll never survive, without Betrayal you'll never win."

It's a game entirely built around stabbing your friends in the back as the Shut Up and Sit Down review shows.

But if you want a game that will really test the bonds of your friendship, check out Diplomacy. Unfortunately I don't have a review for this one, but what I do have is experience saying "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck me. Fuck Diplomacy."

If you ever feel like stepping up your game Twilight Imperium has a fair amount of political intrigue, backstabbing, and malicious intent.

Oh, fuck me. If you want a game light on rules and big on story: FIASCO! Fiasco is a storytelling game that might as well be a Coen Brothers movie. It's what happens when people with high ambition and poor impulse control get together with disastrous results. It's the intersection of lust, greed, and fear. It's a great game if you have people who can improv or enjoy roleplaying. While it's not exactly the same sort of "screw over your friends" as some of your examples, this is one that will leave you and your friends talking for months about "that time Rick left Natalie to the zombie biker gang."
