There are Bluetooth transmitters that he can hook up to that speaker jack (I just bought one for my mother's TV), but they need to be powered. Here's the one I bought. It's big but probably still easily small enough to fit on a motorcycle.

There are exceptions! If both ends support "aptX low latency" technology, you can get the Bluetooth delay imperceptible. I've done this on my PC with these headphones:

I have no idea if such a thing is possible on the Quest - I feel like at least a custom Bluetooth transmitter would be needed.

Is an aptX LL transmitter compatible with aptX headphones? I just purchased a pair of Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 wireless headphones which support aptX. I am using them primarily on PC and want to add an aptx transmitter to my PC. Most of the ones available say "aptX Low Latency". If I buy an "aptX Low Latency transmitter" will my headphones still benefit from the aptX or will I have to get a specific transmitter that is aptX only?

Yes, my mb includes bluetooth, however it does not support APTX LL (and i couldnt really find a mb on the market which does). So i use an additional usb bluetooth dongle. Range is not great with the usb dongle, so u might get something "bigger" with Bluetooth 5.0 and aptx LL support like this one. I think i would not buy the usb dongle again.

OK, so - this is turning into a MacGuyver situation - but here... what if you had your Xbox/Projector connected to one of these - that little device broadcasts Bluetooth whatever you give it at the Line In jack.

The latest B&O H9 (4th gen?) do. I use the H9i myself for the same purpose however, which only support AAC, and I cannot tell that there's latency. I use this transmitter connected to my AVR:

What if I want my Bluetooth headphones to be amplified?

Pretty ignorant and still trying to figure all of this out and there doesn't seem to be a clear cut answer online.

How might I go about utilizing a headphone amp while still being wirelessly attached to my desktop? Apt-X LL is a requirement.

I'm listening through a pair of Beoplay H9s and I currently have one of these and one of these. Is it as easy as hooking up the former downstream from a headphone amp?

Bluetooth's default codec has high latency which means that the video/audio will go out of sync and the sound quality will be shite, at least for me.

aptX is a codec that's meant to fix that, and aptX-LL (Low Latency) would be the best choice for streaming desktop audio wirelessly.

Buy the FiiO BTR1, which is aptX+aptX-LL capable receiver and also buy a transmitter that's capable of aptX-LL (like this, this or this) and you'll not regret having aptX capable gear after trying to watch normal YouTube videos or game on that crappy default BT connection.

I believe macOS can utilize aptX by default, but if you have a Windows PC and do not have a 3.5mm jack to hook up the transmitter to, then you can buy an aptX-capable dongle like this and install the CSR Harmony BT stack because the default Microsoft BT stack does not properly support aptX.

I have a BTR1 and the CSR 4.0 dongle that I linked above and I get near zero latency unless I go too far (it switches codec to the default BT one if I go too far) - I'm not sure if it's using aptX-LL though, but it's definitely using aptX.

The upcoming FiiO BTR3 and the Bluewave GET also support aptX-HD apart from aptX-LL, but I don't think most media can even use such a high bitrate, so aptX-LL will be fine for now.

I guess you can ignore my advice if you are happy with the Mpow receiver (like many people) - I didn't use it personally, but my experience with non-aptX devices has been awful.
