I've just started to look into this but after a little research I picked this camera. It has all the features you can think of and also records in HD, shock sensor, view of the video in a map following like navigation style, etc. With this extra accessory it keeps recording when parked also, pretty nice.
It's $300 all of it but it is foolproof. I have to save for a little while.
I only know of options from blackvue.
