Might be worth getting a bluetooth keyboard for that tablet until you have the funds for a proper new machine.

It's actually a really nice keyboard, especially for the price.

I can type fast than I can write on a tablet. After numerous stylus failures I just gave up and bought a bluetooth keyboard. I tried the clip-on minisuit but it was too small and is missing a tilde which I use all the time while programming. I've settled on a full size $20 Anker keyboard which is the size of an Apple keyboard. It works great. Just get a stand to prop up your N7 and you basically have a tiny computer.

I'm having trouble with this bluetooth dongle and this wireless keyboard. I basically have repeating numbers, intermittent disconnects and extreme lag, varying in seriousness based on which ports I plug my bluetooth dongle into

Here's my build below, and I'm using this wireless mouse and this monitor. Any thoughts on trouble shooting? Should I return the dongle and keyboard and get something better quality?

EDIT: I should mention that I reinstalled the dongle drivers already, but I am not sure if the keyboard even has drivers.

I got this bluetooth keyboard for $20 on Amazon so I don't have to have wires or use up one of the USB ports. For the price it's surprisingly solidly built and works great on the couch.

I use a very slim Bluetooth keyboard and it works great! It does auto-sleep after a few minutes or so of no use (but definitely not seconds), but it wakes up maybe 10s after striking a key (could be a little faster, but for typing is sufficient enough time to reply). It has lasted a long time and I’ve never had an issue with any of this brand’s products for reliability or life. Batteries last awhile too and isn’t super expensive:

I too have the Anker. While I think it is a great keyboard for the money, the keys do feel a little cheap (they tend to "stick" if not hit directly on top) and the bluetooth connection times out after about a minute. Still, you can't beat it for the money.

I'm in the same situation and have my eye on these two:

Anker, which is a clone of the Apple wireless keyboard. I've tried the Targus version and it feels very close to a real keyboard.

Sharkk (Anker also makes the same one), which is smaller, lighter, and rechargeable, to boot.

The only thing that makes me hesitate about the Sharkk is that the keys appear just slightly less than full size. I've only ever used full size keyboards so I don't now how big of an adjustment it would be. There are even smaller BT keyboards but they seem to compromise the typing too much for my preference.

At this point I am leaning toward the Sharkk, but I wish I could try out a physical sample.

Fuck that. I have a perfectly good keyboard that I bought over a year ago for $20 and it's been perfect.

Looks like I'm going to be getting a third party stand-case and just stick with that.

I've been using this Anker Bluetooth keyboard for the past three years for taking notes and writing emails on my tablet and occasionally my phone. The keys are mostly in the right places and sizes, it's fairly quiet (if you put a notebook or cloth under it, otherwise it may clank on the table/desk), and I've not yet had to replace the batteries.

Why not save time and use an actual bluetooth keyboard?
