I use this DisplayPort and this USB extension without issue. If you need more than 6' you'll probably need active extensions which at least for DisplayPort don't come cheap.

Only 6ft and a little more expensive but it worked with my Index. Maybe the extra 4ft makes the difference or it’s just a higher quality cable. I’ve seen mixed results on other cables so no promises. Good luck.

It was listed as 8K UHD (7680 x 4320) resolution DP 1.4 while the other cheaper cables were 4K DP1.3. So far it works great.

Zero issues with it!
The reason for your wire not work with index is that the native resolution in index is 3k but vive just 2k.
Or you could try set the supersampling to 60% to test if the wire work.

However, it is just 6ft. Maybe you could buy two to connect them to be 12ft. :)
