I may have to backtrack and say you're on to something. It looks like some cables advertise 2.4A charging support or fast charging.

yes.. cables are really cheap, you probably have some laying around the house. It doesn't have to be the one it came with.
Also, what do you mean by "where you charge it?" as in, some outlets don't work as well as others?? If you are charging on your computer, it will charge very slowly. It should be plugged into the outlet adapter into the wall.
I go through cables a lot from bending/damaging them, because I use it when its charging often. When they start to go bad, I have to jiggle the cable until I see it's starting to charge. Sometimes the cable goes bad and just charges super slowly. Also, I've bought some cheap cables before at convenience store, or what not when I've forgotten my main one, and those can sometimes be really awful at charging. You can find decent USB cables on amazon for really cheap. here's 3 for 8 bucks
