Low profile, illumination, functional (timer etc) and cheap. I don't like the big G-Shocks, they're too bulky and get stuck on shit. The numbers are clear too.
Has he hinted at any particular style? I think the Weekender would be an excellent choice. Off the top of my head, here are some additional classic and well respected budget watches.

I am sorry for your loss. But methinks work watches should stick around this price range, less you expect an annual watch budget.
Another cheap GShock alternative at ~$15 is the Casio F108WH. It's Water Resistant (WR), but many people take them swimming, and a nice monotone alternative to the F-91W.

That'd work but he'll probably get called out by his DS for something so "military" (that's a classic prank to pull though).
This was mine and I never had an issue.

Sounds like my outfit just about every day, and I don't even have a job.
As of 8 hours ago this is my watch. Had to start spending Christmas money at some point, I guess, though for some reason this $12 watch feels like an odd way to start.
Completely unrelated: Computer power users, do you have any suggestions for peripherals for someone who does everything from his laptop and moves around a lot? My main computer tasks are programming, redditing, and very light image editing (paint.net, not PS or anything like that). I've been thinking of getting an external monitor for a while, but I can't tell if it'd be worth it or if there's anything else that might be more useful.
Also since I likely won't be back in this thread until then, early happy new year everyone!

I can't decide which watch to get, would you guys mind helping me out?
So far I'm looking at Casio F91W, [Casio W800H-1AV] (https://www.amazon.com/Casio-W800H-1AV-Classic-Sport-Watch/dp/B001AWZDA4/ref=zg_bs_6358540011_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=W0MB4NW36A7WRN4S8P1Q), Casio F108WH, Casio W800HG-9AV, and this one (Amazon just called it "Casio Men's Digital Watch"). Any help and/or other watch suggestions around the same price point with similar features would be greatly appreciated
:)
