Something like this looks pretty good. Maybe this or this.

I have a feeling the audio problem has something to do with the G3 being finicky at the connection.

I would honestly experiment with an extender like this. I know it sounds kinda dumb, but I think it might work.

Wow the Kinps didn't come with an extension accessory? My Top G Smart 2400 mAh case did.

I found a few on amazon but they all have mixed reviews and quite a range in price.

You could buy something like this...

I'm a fan of using extension adapters for my aux cords, as sometimes the cord can't be replaced. However some plugs I've used fit too snug giving the battery's silicone so be careful of that. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013RTHEO?keywords=3.5mm%20case%20adapter&qid=1453501016&ref_=sr_1_5&sr=8-5 This is the one I got and have had no problems so far.

I believe I was thinking of this one but unfortunately it doesn't look it will work with the volume buttons.

It looks like you can also find generic replacement cables on ebay- example.

It most likely won't charge that way - the charging USB port would be wired/circuited to the battery.

Why not get a headphone adaptor instead? not necessarily this one but one similar

The one pictured came with my JVC HA-FR201s. But I also own this one and can recommend it.

The only real benefit consumers really saw with the apple dock change was you could reverse it when you connected it -- and a minor size change. it was a MASSIVE loss compatibility wise. SO MANY people had those docks, amps, and clock radios.

> removing a connector that's been around since the 19th century and on every musical device

Not exactly true. When Apple introduced the original iphone, the headphone jack, while using the same 35mm metal connector, had no room for traditional headphone jack bezels, which were more thick than what the iPhone accommodated for. Using non-iphone headphones (of the time) required an adapter, like this:

Of course over time, everyone making headphones made their connectors thinner so you didn't need these adapters, which is why you're probably not even aware this was ever the case.

Apple switching the headphone jack will likely be similar -- you'll need an adapter, but over time headphones will ship with dual connectors or adapters.

> as some people have speculated that the digitalized headphones will be able to detect and stop DRM material.

This makes ZERO sense. If apple wants to detect and stop DRM material, why put it in the headphone when they can put it in the OS and stop it on every pair of headphones out there, new and old alike? Headphones that did this would need to have a CPU and a way to update its firmware, etc.... just so much easier to do it on the phone.

If there's nothing obstructing the jack like a piece broken off of another plug, exchange the phone for another one and see if that solves your problem.

Or you could just buy one of these (it says iPhone but it'll work fine with your Z10), or these
