My parents were surf hippies, and we spent literally months camped out at surf beaches with no power or running water. Solar showers are brilliant, and make a big difference to hygiene. Admittedly no good if you are in the Canadian winter, but for most of the year in temperate zones, they can provide a hot to lukewarm shower after a few hours in the sun.

MSR make a shower attachment for their Hydromedary water bags (a good compact option vs jerry cans). Dedicated solar showers are cheap, or you can go for a deluxe model like this one from Amazon

A sun shower. It鈥檚 like a huge bag of water with a hose, that you hang in a tree and the sun heats it up. Or, if you鈥檙e a redneck like me, just sling it onto the roof of your car and give yourself a quick morning rinse 馃 in my opinion it beat the $10 shower and you don鈥檛 gotta wait in line.

we have this one

All you really need is a portable stove or hot plate so you can cook some real food and save money while eating healthier.

It's true that you can't just park anywhere but there are tons of places you can park. You could go camp out in a walmart parking lot as long as you buy something every once in awhile.

It's private property so the cops can't say shit. A solar shower is $10 at walmart.

Also if you have a hot plate you can heat up a pot of water, add a couple drops of body wash and use a washcloth or two to clean up amazingly well.

You could even buy an old van/truck that didn't run, park it somewhere, convert it to a mini-camper and live in, while walking or bicycling to work and back.

$20 worth of wood, a hammer, some nails and a handsaw and you can build a bed frame, pickup a little used mattress pad at your local thrift shop or junk yard and there you go.

Do the same thing and make some counters/cabinets in there for efficient storage space/kitchenette and you're good to go.

The options are there if you want to or need to make use of them.

I鈥檓 in the same camp. I have been eyeing a used clawfoot tub for the backyard and then running a hose from the kitchen sink to fill it in winter. My short term solution is a $10 backpacking shower that I fill with water / ice cubes (Coghlan's Solar Heated Camp Shower, 5-Gallon, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VNITQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2huNDbB0ZVTB7 )

Toothbrush & paste, peeing on trees, shovel to bury the poo. For cleanliness, baby wipes, truck stop showers, beach showers or something like this baby:
