This right here works wonders for me. I had the same thing happen... it was too bad to salvage without more than $22 in effort. If you put the JST-SM connectors on they provide then you can buy a couple and not have to go through the whole ordeal of hot changing your nozzle every time you want to change diameter.

If your on the stock hot end, you probably don't have the same exact problem I had. I ordered https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077DGWY27/ which comes with quick connectors, for me the pins on the white wire I had to crimp were the issue. If they continue to be an issue I might just solder them directly together.
