My two cents?

A wood cutting tool, a metal cutting tool, a hammer, and a hammer/impact drill. Battery powered would be ideal, but if you have the ability to get shore power, go for wired, cuz they are cheaper.

Screws with the star pattern and self tapping screws are the go to.

The more tools you have, the easier it is to do everything. But you can get away with just those handful of tools. I have a house with a garage, so I store all my bigger tools (table saw, chop saw, a dozen drills because I have a problem, various other pieces of toolery and a compressor with a nail gun) there.

Just a comment for removing the adhesive. A few years ago when I changed the bow ties on my Colorado I used a lot of the same steps you did.

However I got a decal removal wheel to remove the adhesive and it worked like a champ (link for it below). You can put it in a cordless drill and just go over the adhesive. I also removed the dealership decal while I was at it. When you finish it looks terrible, like it didn’t work. However I took a mix of 50/50 water and rubbing alcohol on a rag and wiped it right off. Absolutely no marks and it looked like glass.

Started picking on an edge to get it started then peeled slowly. Heat gun might have helped but did not use. There were parts I just could get and bought the wheel eraser thingy off amazon that did wonders.

The link is not the one I bought but same thing...
