There is nothing wrong with the Edifier, assuming they do what you need done.
The one advantage the Klipsch do have is that they have a USB input for direct connect to a computer. That is probably the feature that is the deciding factor. However, if you computer has an Optical or Coaxial Output, then something like the Edifiers 2000 might be a good choice.
Or, if you are not connecting to a computer, then USB becomes less valuable. In the case, the Edifier with Optical/Coaxial/AUX and Bluetooth is a better choice, simply because it has a Remote Control.
The various Mackie and JBL in 5", 6.5", and 8" could be a good choice as they are highly rated and are less money, but they would require you to buy a USB DAC. Though these can be had in the range of $100.

The JBL 306 and the Mackie MR624 are both 6.5" speakers, which are TWICE as big as a 5" bass driver. They are about $200 each, which with a DAC would run in the neighborhood of $500/set.

You can check reviews on line and you will find nothing but positive for both the JBL and the Mackie MR Series.
All that said, nothing wrong with the Klipsch, just make sure they do what you want, suit your application, and fit your budget.

You might even want to try some powered bookshelf/pc speakers. I have some edifiers that cost $400 and they are pretty impressive. Even if I spent $1000 for the pair I'd be content. I will say that if you get these(currently out of stock in the US on amazon) there really isn't a great way to add a sub. There are other brands that do allow for you to hook up a sub. This way you don't need an av receiver. The downsides of going this route is limited inputs and some like the edifier have proprietary wire hookups which means you really couldn't use them with an av receiver and of course price. You can probably get a better setup for $400 with separate speakers and a cheaper av receiver.
I recently got the edifier pro s2000 speakers I absolutely love them. I use them for my record player and they have Bluetooth capability, they have the depth I look for in a speaker. As for something that is a little cheaper and has an insane batter life, like literally 60 hours of playback, Altec Lansing Omni Jacket ultra

Having something at arms reach would be preferable to trying to use them as a wider speaker setup in a room, because of each monitor has individual power and gain controls.
Will it sound good for you, sure. Will it thump? No, not really. Is there an easy way to add a sub, sure, throwing money at it with a pro sub that has an active crossover inside it.
Best thing to do is audition them. Monitors won't sound 'bad' at all, but it just may not be what you'd expect.

I’d get powered speakers. These edifiers are great, don’t require an amp being powered, have Bluetooth and fit your budget. The swans are also awesome and cheaper. Hope this helps. Never get a sound bar.
