This is the one I take, but there are lots of other ones out there. My doctor said to look specifically for “lactobacillus acidophilus” when choosing one.

You really need to try a probiotic. They basically balance the yeast and bacteria levels in your body. I currently use the Enzymatic Therapy Pearls for constipation but they also makes them for yeast balance.

I have tried Pearls YB for yeast infections and it worked quite well, also. I had some mild cramps for a day or two, but it cured the infection!

Yes you can definitely have a yeast infection and BV at the same time, you can also have a yeast infection that turns into BV and vice versa.

Last time I had BV I took Enzymatic Therapy Pearls: YB after browsing reviews for quite some time, they seemed to have the best ratings for the price. They worked like a charm - I also started with two a day, perhaps the levels of probiotics in the gummies you've been taking aren't high enough? Or it hasn't been long enough for them to take effect.

Also, drink lots and lots and lots of water. Cut down on your intake of sugar and processed grains if you can, this limits the food source for bad bacteria while you're waiting to get to the doctor.

And finally - YES, birth control CAN mess with your vaginal pH and cause yeast infections or BV. It happened to me last time I tried birth control, two weeks in I began to get yeast infection symptoms, which continued to worsen each day. Not only that, I could feel the itching get measurably worse about an hour after taking my pill each day. I stopped the birth control and the itching tapered off and disappeared within just a few days. Unfortunately, the yeast infection turned into BV (which cleared up after a week or so of taking the probiotics).

You might need to switch birth controls, sometimes your body just doesn't respond well to certain combinations of hormones.
