Sorry, posted right b4 bed

The mount is an [Ergotron dual stacking arm] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036RDOT8/ref=sr_ph?ie=UTF8&qid=1411569894&sr=1&keywords=Dual+stacking+arm)

And the monitors are both Asus vg248qe 144hz displays

The ergotron arms are an absolute dream. If need be I can easily adjust them to a horizontal or side by side monitor setup. Make sure you have enough of a lip on your desk for the base to clamp onto. My desk is really just a dining room table and it's 3'' lip was just barely enough to secure the stand. If you done have a sufficient lip then be prepared to drill a hole for the alternate mounting method.

It's $230 at Amazon.com right now. A couple days ago it dropped to $200~.

u/leakfrog · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Yep! Specifically this model. It comes with the laptop holder, or you can use it as a second monitor mount. I bought the "stacking monitor" model because it gave me a bit more vertical flexibility--the non-stacking version desk mount pole is a bit of a nub.

Looks like Ergotron has a dual stacking setup that might interest you.

You need a monitor arm. That one comes with a tray so you can mount your laptop on the 2nd arm instead of another screen. It also works great for side-by-side, much better than the actual side-by-side model actually since you can mount the base arms higher up.

This way you can have the cat on the desk and the screens above the cat and everyone is happy :)

I have the 320 dual arm at home supporting my 34 and 22 inch monitors. It works but is not the most sturdy... Many parts are cheap plastic... Also, it may not have the vertical range to go over/under. The monitor wiggles whenever I bump the desk. Tilt tension is friction based only and hard to get tight enough, then difficult to adjust position. And the rotation (landscape vs portrait) tension is not adjustable.

My ergoTRON at work on the otherhand is much more stable and highter quality.

Try this. Or if you don't wanna drop another $300 or so, maybe this which, to my eye (based on not very good images) looks far superior to the ergo TECH stuff.

Maybe I'm just pissed because their name fooled me. I was at Fry's and said "Ohh! Ergoxxxx, thats a good price!" Got it home and was disappointed. Though apparently still not disappointed enough to replace it going on 3 years now...

EDIT: If you don't need height adjust, this may work with the purchase of another arm.

I have my old 27" Korean 1440p stacked above my 34UUC88-B. Works well. I thought about that mount, but I opted for the Ergotron Stacking Arm to stack 'em. I can get a nice downward tilt on the top monitor and line the monitors up exactly the way I want with the Ergotron. It's a little high, so it's not as usable as side by side 24" monitors but it's not bad (the ultrawide is definately too wide for side by side). I use the top screen for mostly monitoring, passive consumption, or using as a reference for whatever I've got going on the bottom screen - it's fine for that purpose. Actively working off the top monitor doesn't really work too well. Overall I'm happy with the setup.

I looked at the pole mount you listed before I went with the Ergotron, my main concerns with the pole mount were around alignment. With two different panels and panel depths, they're not going to line up flush, and you can't change the depth if you add a tilt - you'll want to push the top towards you as you tilt it down. You'll definately need to mod the pole mount to get everything to line up flush if you have asymmetric panels and/or planning on adding a tilt.

It should be fine. The company actually sells this http://www.amazon.com/Desk-Mount-LCD-Tall-Pole/dp/B00689HXI4 and http://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-248-026-Stacking/dp/B0036RDOT8

They don't let you just buy the base or replacement pole.

u/The_Real_Max · 1 pointr/battlestations

Can you link to the monitor arms? I wasn't able to find them and am currently looking into making my own desk and using this or this.

u/anoxy · 1 pointr/buildapc

It seems like several reviewers are using 2 27" monitors with the Ergotron LX

And this one as well.

I haven't tried it myself though...not really a fan of dual monitors. One 1440p is enough for me.

u/xootme · 1 pointr/wacom

Thanks for the details!

I agree that Ergoton arms make it easy to configure multiple arms and multiple monitors.

Ergotron makes a quality product at a grate price. However, they tend to very wobbly. It's just a matter of physics, a heavy weight is on the end of a long pole. Is screen wobble a problem for you?

The XOOT system does allow open space in front of the screen, it's designed to pivot the screen over a mouse and keyboard. To get the screen to clear a MIDI keyboard a height adjustment is needed (see picture from article on XOOT Ergonomics). Would it be acceptable to have the XOOT system occupy the primary location directly in front of you and Ergotron arms stacked on the sides?

I agree that rotating the screen is important, we are working on it

Note, I’m not trying to imply the XOOT system will be your best solution. I’m just trying to learn what works and what doesn't for your situation.

Thanks.

You sir are in the need for a monitor mount. I too have 1 UW and standard issue 16x9. Here's mine. Just 1 pole in the back and you get you're entire desk back!

u/tk421whyarentuatpost · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

oh, maybe this is what you need. but not cheap.

u/ExcelMN · 1 pointr/buildapc

I've got these, the cable grommet holes in my desk are way oversized, these were the best fit (still had to fab plates for the underside, but that was just drilling holes in wide pieces of steel)

http://smile.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-248-026-Stacking/dp/B0036RDOT8

They're expensive, but built like tanks. Amazon Basics has the single arm and the side by side version in all black, for a bit cheaper. http://smile.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Single-Monitor-Display-Mounting/dp/B00MIBN16O/ You could buy two of the singles, and just slide the second one's arm onto the same pole as the other one. Spare base if needed.

I'd go with something cheaper from monoprice if you can, and most of the monoprice stuff is cheaper shipped from Amazon (monoprice charges a bunch for shipping, kills their lower prices).

u/warcraftecon · 1 pointr/gamingpc

I just purchased one of these. It's a dual monitor mount that clamps onto the desk. The arms are fully adjustable in almost every way possible.

u/bendvis · 1 pointr/buildapc

You could get one with arms like this, but the price jumps up a lot.

Alternatively, you could get 2 of these and hope that it'll hold the second monitor high enough.

u/sp00ny · 1 pointr/hardware

What desk mounted solutions would you suggest? I'm looking for a dual-screen setup, fully articulating arms, etc. Something like this, but one that holds larger screens (27"-30").

u/Prizeless · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I really like this one, it's kind of pricey, but really adjustable if you need that sort of thing.

http://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-Lx-Dual-Stacking-Arm/dp/B0036RDOT8

This one looks pretty nice as well if you don't want to bolt it to your desk:

http://www.amazon.com/MonMount-Freestanding-Monitor-24-Inch-LCD-6460B/dp/B0036ISPSW

u/rcioffe · 1 pointr/Monitors

You could get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-248-026-Stacking/dp/B0036RDOT8/

Then you could try to buy a separate arm to attach to that pole. Probably best to get a double stand and then a separate one however, as you could run into weight issues/finding individual parts of the monitor stands can be difficult.

u/accountnumber3 · 1 pointr/AskBattlestations

Ergotron LX dual stacking arm. They are fully adjustable like crazy octopus arms.

I think the Acer Xr341ck (if you have an Nvidia GPU buy the X 34 instead) hits all of those points.
I have it mounted on an Ergotron LX arm and I believe you can get a tall pole for it to mount 2 monitors on top of each other like this one;

http://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-248-026-Stacking/dp/B0036RDOT8

The built in speakers are pretty good and quite loud as built in speakers go.
I normally use my HD800S for gaming (because wife) but the speaker is fine for watching TV shows or YouTube.

Even music doesn't sound awful from it. Maybe slightly tinny.

Also I absolutely love the running LEDs. The only problem is the price.

u/ThatsSoBravens · 1 pointr/nfl

I have one of these AmazonBasics jobs for the monitor on the right, and the name brand two monitor equivalent for the two center ones.

The AmazonBasics one is 99.99% identical to the Ergotron arms, except for the paint and price.

The dual arms for the center monitors aren't necessary, I could've gone with a much cheaper stand that wasn't as flexible. The monitors are too big to really maneuver even with the arms.

u/cmdr_lurk · 1 pointr/buildapc

Right now I have three 24inch monitors side by side and - while looking at the right side of the right-most screen I cannot really see what is going on on the left side of the left-most screen - having to turn my head all the way left/right honestly does not bother me that much. With adding a second row of monitors of the same size I am slightly concerned about the vertical size of the whole setup, but hopefully I can position everything in a more or less comfortable way.

As for the stands, at the moment I use an Ergotron Dual side-by-side arm (link) for two of the screens and this arm is just great. It can wobble slightly when bumped into (or the table it is screwed onto) but it still very stable and has outstanding capabilities for adjusting the position of the monitors. It is miles ahead of the second monitor arm that I use, which is a simple/cheap single-screen arm that I picked up just so I do not have to use the monitor stand (very similar to this one.)

So for the six-monitors setup I am looking at (three of) the Ergotron LX Dual stacking arms (link.) With longer extension poles I should be able to raise the monitors high enough so that the bottom row does not sit right against the top of the desk and if my experience with Ergotron is of any indication, the entire construction should be stable enough for my needs. I did consider a dedicated "scaffolding" for six screens but I would also like to be able to place all of the screens side by side in pivot configuration (which is a layout I sometimes use with my three screens.)

I very occasionally switch to Windows and play games on my PC and I usually either do it on all three monitors (using NVidia Surround) or disable all screens but one and use it for launching games for the Oculus Rift. If I connect the bottom row of the monitors to the GTX 980Ti I can still continue playing games as per usual, on either three screens or the Rift; I mentioned in a different reply that I do not care if all those six monitors will work fully in Windows.

u/Aytrydez · 1 pointr/gamingpc

You're probably not going to find what you're looking for on such a budget; however take a look at monoprice maybe one or two of those could be configured to suit your needs.

What you're really looking for is something like Ergotron however at $260 that's probably a lot more than you're willing to spend. What I will say in regards to this stand though, having just bought one: it is worth every penny, the build quality is insane and the freedom of movement/adjustment with the arms is incredible.

I've used the Ergotron brand of these for 10 years now. They have extensions you can buy, but also notebook holders you can put on at the end. AmazonBasics have the same exact looking design models for 3/4 the price... I've never used but they look so similar I assume they are EOM.

Cheaper alternatives out there for a budget I've used include TykeSupply but they are bulkier and heavier; but made of solid metal so might have better uses in some scenario's.

I was never satisfied with many of the other overpriced options, or even their lack of design flexibility for future use cases. I've readjusted my layouts many times over the years.. which is an understatement.

>.. but I would need a vertical desk-clamp mount to do so. I don't know of any desk-clamp monitor mount that has a vertical arrangement.

u/beaverjacket · 1 pointr/Monitors

Yes to all your questions, with the caveat that the answer to 2) depends on the stand that you buy. The stand you link to can do pivot and swivel easily, but changing height would be a little more involved and inconvenient. If you want easier height adjustment (and have a fat wallet), get an arm like this.

u/Nymfamous · 1 pointr/ultrawidemasterrace

I believe that weight is with the monitor stand attached. As an example the Acer X34 in my picture lists it's weight as 21.94 pounds w/stand, but is 16.3 pounds without.

This ergotron LX dual stacking arm handles both my monitors exceptionally: http://www.amazon.com/Ergotron-45-248-026-Stacking/dp/B0036RDOT8
