I've been using almost this exact card in Arch for quite some time:

I use the proprietary NVidia drivers because Steam, but Nouveau works fine with it. But it works great for me, never had any issues with X crashes.
I'm in the same boat. I'm eying the 570 HD double shot as my second card and don't really understand why it's cheaper than the regular 570 HD. (It is $229 or $209 after rebate.)

That's pretty much it. You can find a 570 for cheaper if you look around though and just OC it yourself. ~At the 400.00 mark I'd really be looking for a 580 (I went the craigslist route and got one for 380.00 unused).

Which is strange, I would think this would be a more popular item (better than reference coolers). There's one for 296.00, if its legit I'd just spring for that and maybe upgrade in the PSU or grab another HDD. If there were two for that price I'd go SLI :P
